About

Pre JYM is a pre-workout made by JYM Supplement Science. It is designed to promote “muscle growth”, “strength”, “energy”, “endurance” and focus.

The brand promises a “transparent” pre-workout that may “prime the body for intense workouts”.

Pre JYM contains 13 active ingredients. These include citrulline malate, which the manufacturer refers to as “a potent amino acid” that could help boost endurance and enhance muscle pumps.

The product also features beet root extract – thought to work with citrulline malate to boost nitric oxide and increase workout performance.

Pre JYM is free from proprietary blends and concentrates.

Flavors include – or have included – “Cherry Limeade” and “Raspberry Lemonade”.

Fully loaded, non proprietary blend, correctly dosed solid product!
    —-Introduction—-

I’ve been going to the GYM 9 years, started off really skinny and weak, and made a lot of progress over the years. Pre Jym is a product in Jim Stoppani’s line of products, that’s different from other pre workouts. Its fully loaded, is a much bigger serving size than other pre workouts, and Jim Stoppani’s big seller is that his product is a non proprietary blend, meaning it lists the exact amount of each ingredients dose in this pre workout.

    —-Ingredient Profile—-

    Creatine Hydrochloride 2 g
    Beta-Alanine (as CarnoSyn) 2 g
    Betaine (Trimethylglycine) 1.5 g
    Taurine 1 g
    N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine 600 mg
Alpha-Glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline (as AlphaSize) 150 mg
    Citrulline Malate 6 g
Beet (Beta vulgaris L.) Root Extract 500 mg
    L-Leucine 3 g
    L-Isoleucine 1.5 g
    L-Valine 1.5 g
    L-Tyrosine 1.5 g
    Caffeine Anhydrous 300 mg
Huperzine A (Huperzia serrata) Extract 50 mcg
Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) Fruit Extract (as Bioperine) 5 mg

Serving size 1 scoop = 26 Grams. As you can see this product is LOADED with amino acids and plenty of other things I also like how this product uses Creatine HCL.

    —-Taste/Mixability/Dosing—-

The flavor that I had every time was black cherry, and the taste is great. The instructions when I bought it said to mix 1 scoop (26G) in 14-18oz of water, let it sit to dissolve for atleast 15 minutes, then drink it slowly for 20-30 minutes, prior to workout.. Where as other pre workouts are a 5G serving, mix it in a glass of water drink and go, this product called for giving it time to dissolve, then taking time to drink it, and 14-18oz I needed to use my blender bottle to mix it in and drink from.. not just mix it in a glass.. So it is a bit more time consuming to use than other products. It does mix well, and like I mentioned the taste is great.

    —-Effectiveness—-

This product is a highly effective product, fully loaded with everything you need to give you the best workout you can have.. I’ve had some great workouts, and a great pump when using this product.. and another plus, is on days when I’m tired after getting off work, this stuff gave me the energy to still have an awesome pump and workout. I used this product for several months and went through about 5-6 bottles of this stuff.. It was usually pretty effective, however it’s not a magic supplement, there were somedays it just wasn’t my day and I didn’t have my best stuff even when using this product, but that’s gym life.

    —-Value—-

Theres a few things that go into this. I paid $50 for a 1 month supply of this product. (GNC now offers it for $40 but that’s for less servings, I got 30 servings for $50, lasted me about a month maybe slightly more) To me, $50 is a lot for a pre workout, HOWEVER, with this product, you are getting much more in this product than you get in other products. So you’re paying more, but also getting more.

Lately I have no been using a pre workout, and I have been only using creatine hcl and beta alanine, 2 products that combined cost me about half as much for a 1 month supply than this product did. And with those 2 products, I’m still have a great pump and great workout. So what I’m saying is, this product is a great product, and does give you a lot for your money, but is paying twice as much for this product as the 2 I’m using now together going to give me twice as better results? Right now I’m still doing as good as I feel I possibly can in the gym with $25 worth of beta alanine and creatine HCL combined.

    —-Side Effects—-

Just the basic tingling from the beta alanine, nothing else for me.

    —-Conclusion—-

This is a very solid product. If you’re going to use a pre workout, and you don’t mind the $50 price tag, then I would highly recommend this product, and I’d recommend it over pretty much any other pre workout. If money wasn’t an issue, and I could get whatever pre workout I want, for free, then this would be the choice I would make.

    Pre-Jym: Time for an upgrade?
    —-Introduction—-
I have been lifting for about 8 years now and I have always used pre-workouts and I have always heard of this pre and was ready to try it out! This is also my first review and cant wait to provide more reviews!

    —-Ingredient Profile—-
Creatine Hydrochloride 2 g-One of the most researched ingredients in exercise performance enhancement. This is under dosed in my opinion. There is a wide spectrum of research that discusses different doses and effects however, 5 grams is most supported by research.
Beta-Alanine (as CarnoSyn) 2 g-Beneficial for increasing muscle endurance. Another ingredient that I believe to be under dosed. While this is a high-quality beta-alanine.
Betaine (Trimethylglycine) 1.5 g- Muscle building and enhances anabolic endocrine profile. Many of the articles I read stated that the proper dosing is 2-3 grams a serving.
Taurine 1 g- Good dosing, for endurance and focus.
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine 600 mg – A various of benefits come with this ingredient, but not an effective dosing (but rarely in pre-workouts).
Alpha-Glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline (as AlphaSize) 150 mg – cognitive enhancing, good dosing.
Citrulline DL Malate 6 g – Good dosing and effective for pumps (most studies suggest 8 grams, but 6 is the threshold).
Beet (Beta vulgaris L.) Root Extract 500 mg – Good for pumps and good dose.
    BCAA’s
L-Leucine 3 g – The king ingredient in BCAAs and improves protein synthesis
    L-Isoleucine 1.5 g – A BCAA that increases glucose uptake into cells.
L-Valine 1.5 g – A BCAA that can be converted into glucose. Other than this, existing literature will state there is no known unique benefit when isolated.
L-Tyrosine 1.5 g – An amino acid that produces noradrenaline and dopamine.
Caffeine Anhydrous 300 mg – A good amount of caffeine, around 2-3 cups of coffee. Caffeine is backed by various studies for its benefits to performance.
Huperzine A (Huperzia serrata) Extract 50 mcg – Cognitive enhancer that inhibits an enzyme that degrades the learning neurotransmitter (acetylcholine).
Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) Fruit Extract (as Bioperine) 5 mg – Absorption amplifier, but with this many grams a serving, 10 mg would be better.

Serving size 1 scoop = 26 Grams. The more the better!

    —-Taste/Mixability/Dosing—-
I had the strawberry kiwi and I loved it! I thought it was the best flavor I had ever had when trying a pre-workout. But every pre-workout will always have a bitter taste, especially with ingredients like those in this product. It did not mix that well but that is expected for a pre-workout that has so many grams a serving. I took one scoop 15-25 minutes prior to exercise.

    —-Effectiveness—-
This product is dosed effectively in certain areas on paper, but its actual effects were another story. I felt this pre-workout was a dud. I felt a little tingle and some energy the first three days, but I never felt it again. I began using it for cardio sessions and not for when I was lifting. I bought another pre-workout for lifting that I will leave a review for next. Overall, I thought this product was going to be the best product with all the hype I have seen. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

    —-Value—-
This price is the average price for this type of pre-workout but some pre-workouts go over and beyond with their ingredient profile and either match the price or cost five dollars more.

    —-Side Effects—-
I experienced a crash an hour working out, which was consistant throughout my time taking it.

    —-Conclusion—-
I think the pre-workout was decent for the first three days and then I just used it for cardio. That’s not a bad thing but for what I wanted it for, which was lifting and to get me focused for HIT, it was a flop. I think When it first came out, it was revolutionary. It was one of the first “complete pre-workouts”. But now there are many pre-workouts on the market that have higher doses and more ingredients than this one. I think he needs to reformulate again to be competitive. I always take dietary supplements and perhaps I have built a tolerance but I am overall disappointed.

    Strawberry Kiwi: 8/10

Everything you need in a pre workout.
In my opinion Pre Jym has everything I would look for in a pre workout.

I am relatively new getting back into lifting and supplements. When I was younger I was an athlete and a Marine and worked out often and used supplements on and off. I am now a little older and getting back to work trying to get rid of “dad bod.” It seems that supplements have really taken off. I have used many different supplements especially pre workouts, mostly from the big name brands.

    —-Ingredient Profile—-
You can see on the label that basically every ingredient that is recommended in a pre workout supplement is there along with another that’s not always present. Black pepper fruit extract helps your body with absorbing the other ingredients which should help you get the maximum effect. According to Jim Stoppani the proper dose of each ingredient is put into his products. I am not a scientist, but from my research and experience that claim does seem to be true with Pre Jym.

    —-Taste/Mixability/Dosing—-
I have tried cherry limeade and strawberry kiwi flavors. Both are good and easy to drink. However, my favorite is definitely strawberry kiwi. It is different from anything else you’ve tasted, but pleasantly surprising. Just keep an open mind when trying it. The powder is easy to mix and blends quite well. Not “grainy” texture or residue noticeable when drinking, but if left sitting for a while there seems to be particles that fall to the bottom. This is easily rectified by a quick shake before you drink.

    —-Effectiveness—-
The effectiveness is without a doubt the best part of Pre Jym. It does not come on you really strong like some pre workouts do and it doesn’t make you feel “twitchy” or “jittery.” In my experience I take it on my way to the gym and by the time I’m done warming up on the elliptical for 10-15 minutes I’m ready to go. It makes you extremely focused while you are working out and you literally don’t want to stop. Your mind keeps pushing for more even when your body is wore out. The pumps are good, but I wouldn’t necessarily compare them to NO3 or anything, but that’s a totally different product. There is no “crash” when you are done it just wears off with no problem.

    —-Value—-
It is a little more expensive than a lot of the pre workout supplements out there, but this is probably a case of “you get what you pay for.” Pre Jym is definitely superior to the pre workouts that I have tried.

    —-Side Effects—-
I did not notice any side effects. I thinks you could even use this product when you are going to mow your yard or something.

    —-Conclusion—-
I would highly recommend Pre Jym to anyone looking for a pre workout supplement. Bottom line is it truly just In my opinion Pre Jym has everything I would look for in a pre workout.

    works amazingly.

    Awesome stimulant pre-workout
    —-Introduction—-
First off let me say that I’m a heavy stim consumer. I drink coffee nearly everyday and also take a caffeine/ephedrine stack while cutting. This is obviously a stimulant pre-workout, and with even minimum dosing, it got my blood pumping!!

    —-Ingredient Profile—-

Jym is luckily prett transparent with the ingredients. One of the most effective ingredients for any pre-workout is caffeine, and they put a solid amount in this but not enough to give you a stroke. Nothing upsets me more when I see a pre-workout with +300mg

    —-Taste/Mixability/Dosing—-
Tastes great, especially the green Apple one. It’s literally liquid green apple flavored. It mixes OK, kinda grainy. The dosing is on point!

    —-Effectiveness—-

I’d say the effectiveness is good, but not amazing which is why I gave an overal rating of less than 10. After taking this everyday for a week or so, it’ll start losing its strength, like most stimulant pre-workouts.

    —-Value—-

I though the value was good, didn’t mind the cost at all.

    —-Side Effects—-

I got a small itchiness when I took it, and if you take it long enough you’ll start getting fatigued later in the day cause of the caffeine.

    —-Conclusion—-

Great stimulant pre-workout. Absolutely loved it.

Great Pre Workout For Long Lifting Sessions
After trying a couple of pre workout supplements I was keen to give Pre-Jym a try. It has a huge dose of caffeine, plus Citrulline Malate, BCAAs, Beta Alanine, Creatine and a few other good ingredients._x000D_
I went for the Orange Mango flavour and I have to say it’s the best pre workout I’ve tasted. I think it might be too sweet for some but I didn’t mind it. It also mixes very well, it might not look like it as you can see particles floating but it’s really smooth and there’s no tangy taste as you get to the bottom of it._x000D_
You get a slight itchy feeling from the Beta Alanine but nowhere near as strong as other pre workouts so if that’s something that has bothered you previously, I think you should still be OK with this._x000D_
I feel energized throughout my workouts and have been able to get through more sets and reps than I’ve done with other pre workouts. It’s quite expensive but you do get 30 servings and I’ll be buying it again._x000D_
My only fault with it is a lack of L-Theanine. I’m quite tolerant to caffeine but 300mg can be too much for people, a bit of L-Theanine in here would help keep it under control.
