Quick Summary

A solid creatine blend which has the normal creatine monohydrate and some extra creatine but you will pay more because of the other creatine ingredients included.

Introduction

Big shout out to the people at Redcon1. It is always good to get a product that I use daily and to get something different from the same old, same old. I have always enjoyed grape flavoring, so I thought this would be a good one to try. I have used Redcon1 in the past and it was effective so this one was a no brainier for me.

Ingredient Profile

Tango has a creatine blend of creatine monohydrate 5g, betaine anhydrous 2.5g, creatine HCL 1g, creatine magnapower 1g, taurine 1g, and L-Ornithine L-Aspartate 1g. Creatine can work to improve strength, lean muscle mass, and muscles recover. Due to the boost from creatine, it can increase energy. Creatine is like protein but it is known as a "non-protein" nitrogen. Creatine is in our bodies, is in food, and supplements. Creatine monohydrate has benefits of increased muscle levels of creatine, increased work capacity and improved training, and greater increases in lean body mass. Betaine is an amino acid that has many benefits. It can help with weight loss, muscle growth, fight heart disease, and define the body. This is a good product with positive benefits. Creatine HCL or creatine hydrochloride is believed by some the best creatine available. HCL helps break down the creatine into a salt and because of this it will dissolve better and be absorbed into the body more quickly. Magnesium creatine chelate or what that call Creatine MagnaPower has creatine that will bond to magnesium which is different from Creatine monohydrate that bonds the creatine to water. Taurine is commonly available in energy drinks. Taurine comes from meat, fish and dairy and it's benefits include helping brain, eyes, heart, and muscles. Taurine is a conditional amino acid. L-OrnithineLl-aspartate or LOLA is a salt non-essational amino acids. It is to fight off fat with the growth hormone. All the ingredients are fine, so I give this a good rating.

Taste/Mixability/Dosing

I was able to get this in grape which tastes like grape and the taste was good. Mixability was good and the product broke down well. It was one scoop with 10-12 ounces of water or favorite beverage immediately after workout. The only thing I found that I disagreed with is it recommended a double scoop for greatest benefit. The last thing I want to do is get into a war about how much creatine you should take in a day, but I believe the one scoop is plenty for me but I do understand there are different opinions. Also, two scoops will go faster so you will end up buying more product. That is a very minor issue and do not think it should impact the rating. It was just something I wanted to mention. Everything was good and had no issues, so I give it a good rating.

Effectiveness

For the most part, the Tango served its purpose of promoting lean mass, maximizes strength gains, and enhance recovery. I could not say that I had a huge gain in these 3 things, but do feel that creatine serves a purpose in weight lifting. I do feel that this was an effective creatine. I've had blends in the past and this was a great creatine blend. When using the different creatine together, I feel you are getting a more effective creatine. I also like the Tango because I like having a taste (instead of the no taste creatine) and it gives me water without having just plain, no taste water. I felt that my body was able to absorb the creatine and it gave me what I needed the creatine to do. I like having a creatine after a workout so this was a good product to try as Tango recommends doing it after a workout. This was a great creatine that was a very effective product.

Value

Tango tubs contain 30 servings, and I was able to find it for $21-$35. The $21 tub will be $0.70 per serving. I believe this is not to expensive because it is a creatine blend with more than just creatine monohydrate but it is considerably higher than the most commonly used creatine monohydrate which sells around $0.25-$0.35 per serving. The Tango has grams of creatine monohydrate and that is the normal serving amount in most of my tubs. This means you are paying an extra $0.45 per serving. The question to ask yourself is if these additional ingredients are worth the extra cost. I will give this a middle ranking because I would normally buy this but if money was tight, I would absolutely go after the plain creatine.

Side Effects

None

Conclusion

This is a great creatine product. It has multiple creatine which is good. The taste, mixability, and dosing were fine. It was effective. The cost on it was reasonable, but it is a little high compared to the creatine monohydrate only supplements. No side effects. This is a wonderful creatine and I would recommend and try it again.

    Quick Summary

This tastes great and will give you results you can expect from normal creatine.

    Introduction

I would like to thank redcon1 for letting me be able to try this product. Prior to this I didn't have creatine for over 5 months so it was great to be back on creatine again.

    Ingredient Profile

I like that they use a fully disclosed formula rather than a proprietary blend.

Creatine Monohydrate (5g): Monohydrate is the most universally accepted form of creatine, it's the most basic and to most people seems to yield the best results and has never been shown to have negative side effects. Playing a massive role in increasing protein synthesis, creatines biggest role is cell volumization within the muscle or in other words, increasing the amount of water volume which can play a massive role in muscle building and strength increases.

Betaine Anhydrous (2.5g): Studies showed Betaine Anhydrous playing a large role in strength increases in all subjects using 1.25g dosages, and it did that by not only increasing protein synthesis but also increasing the bodies natural ability to create creatine. These studies also showed all test subjects taking Betaine post-workout.

Creatine HCL (1g): Another widely used form of creatine, HCL is a widely much more absorbed form of creatine. With a proven faster absorption rate than any other form on the market, and dosed at a much lower amount.

Creatine MagnaPower (1g): It's creatine binded with magnesium. This binding with magnesium can actually allow for further ATP production within the muscle, being proven to allow for bigger muscular pumps & contractions than any other form of creatine. As a fun little bonus, Magnapower also increases carb metabolism, meaning that insanely needed post-workout meal has the potential to be absorbed better and actually put those carbs to good use.

Taurine (1g): Taurine, as we all know, is an amino acid mainly shown to increase cell volumization, which lends a huge hand to muscle recovery and an increase in nitrix oxide, aka, blood flow. Working hand in hand with creatine & glutamine to pull more water into the muscle, teaming it up with all of the creatine in Tango can increase muscle size and muscular pump.

L-Ornithine L-Aspartate (1g): Acting as a pre-cursor to nitric oxide, this combination of amino acids increase blood flow to the muscles and can play a huge role in muscle pump and recovery.

I like that it has 5 grams of creatine monohydrate which is my favorite form of creatine. I did not like the results I got from hcl the last time I took it and I have never tried creatine magnapower. This formula looks well dosed and I was expecting to get great results based on the formula.

    Taste/Mixability/Dosing

I got strawberry kiwi flavor and it was really great tasting. I tasted more strawberry than kiwi.

I had no mixing problems. Nothing went to the bottom.

I would take 1 scoop post workout on workout days or 1 scoop in the morning on rest days.

    Effectiveness

The first week I didn't feel anything except my recovery time was slightly faster. The second week I got some amazing pumps and endurance. The pumps were better than most hydromax products I've tried. The endurance was great but not similar to a preworkout. The third week I noticed my muscles looked more full. I had slight strength gains but nothing too significant. I was not getting any personal records but I was adding an extra 5 lbs on my sets. I did gain 8 lbs while on this which was mostly water weight. I did not get bloated while taking this but I also made sure I was drinking a gallon a day while taking this.

    Value

You can find this at bestpricenutrition.com for $25 which is a great deal. That is $0.83 a serving which is great because it's less than a dollar.

    Side Effects

    None

    Conclusion

I think this is one of the better creatines I've tried and it has an amazing ingredient list. I would recommend this to someone looking for a creatine but wants to try the different types because this one has 3 different creatines in it. I would consider getting this product again in the future since I enjoyed it so much. I might not have gotten as great results as what I got if I didn't take such a long creatine break and everyone responds differently to everything so make sure you do research before putting your money in and expecting a huge difference. I still think if you are interested in trying creatine then this would be a great one to try if you are interested in one.

      Introduction

First off I want to thank Redcon1 for letting us troopers have the chance to give this product a try. This had been a product I have wanted to try for awhile now and was hoping it would show up on the trooper list and it finally did. I was in the need of some more creatine since I had been off creatine for awhile and had been wanting to get back on it again. So the thought of being back on creatine again got me feeling excited again. Just the difference being on creatine again really makes my workouts that much better and more enjoyable.

      Ingredient Profile

I think the ingredient profile for this is pretty good. You get a total of 7g of creatine. 5g of that is mono and 1g of HCL and 1g of Magnapower. How the other two types of creatine worked and helped me was a little hard to tell just because it's such a low amount they use. I would say they are more of a bonus to have along with the mono. Also they thrown in a few other goodies like Betaine Anhydrous at 1g, Taurine at 1g, and L-Ornithine L-Aspartate at 1g.
Creatine Monohydrate (5g): Monohydrate is the most universally accepted form of creatine, it's the most basic and to most people seems to yield the best results with almost no negativity attached to it's name. Playing a massive role in increasing protein synthesis, creatines biggest role is cell volumization within the muscle or in other words, increasing the amount of water volume which can play a massive role in muscle building and strength increases. Redcon1 nails it on the head here with a perfect 5g, the recommended dosing of creatine monohydrate.

Betaine Anhydrous (2.5g): Studies showed Betaine Anhydrous playing a large role in strength increases in all subjects using 1.25g dosages, and it did that by not only increasing protein synthesis but also increasing the bodies natural ability to create creatine. These studies also showed all test subjects taking Betaine post-workout, which makes this added ingredient a key role in the overall effects of Tango.

Creatine HCL (1g): Another widely used form of creatine, HCL is a widely much more absorbed form of creatine. With a proven faster absorption rate than any other form on the market, and dosed at a much lower amount, it seems to be just as high up there in effectiveness as your typical Monohydrate, and tossing a gram into this creatine based post-workout is a nice touch to boost absorption in the body.

Creatine MagnaPower (1g): In much simpler terms, it's creatine binded with magnesium.

      Taste/Mixability/Dosing

I had the grape flavor. I thought it has that nice grape flavor to it. Nothing to overly strong. It reminded me more of that candy grape you get or maybe a grape popsicle. Not was not to overly sweet or tart at all which was nice.

Had no real major issues with this mixing up. If you leave it sit to long it will get some sediment on the bottom of your shaker bottle but that's easy to fix with a few extra shake of the bottle. Also there was some little piece left over of the sides of my shaker bottle but easy to fix with a little extra water.

They say to use this post workout but could be used pretty much anytime during the day you wanted. I would do one scoop with my pre-workout and that is when I would use this. It says on the label to use up to two scoops per day but I feel there is no need at all to do more than one scoop per day.

      Effectiveness

It had been awhile since I used any creatine and was pretty excited to get back on this again. Every time I have been off creatine for awhile and then start up again I usually get some pretty good results from it like good strength gains and my over all performance and how I feel in the gym is a lot better. Since it had been awhile since I last used any kind of creatine I noticed this took me about a week before I could really start to tell this starting to work for me. After that first week of using this and could start feeling this work for me I noticed my strength gains starting to go up again and was not having to struggle as much to do my lifts. It felt like it made my lifts feel easier to do and more enjoyable also. The strength gains I got were nothing mind blowing to where I was setting PR's but were decent gains.

One of the biggest things I noticed from this was the size and fullness in my muscles I was able to put on while using this. I also noticed after a few weeks of using this how much bigger my muscles were starting to look. I had a lot of increase in fullness in my muscles which was nice. Also my weight did go up a little bit. Before starting this was around 206-208lbs and as of today while I write this review my body weight was at 213lb which I had never been at before. My height is about 5'8 and to be at 213lb is a pretty high weight to be at for my size. I do workout at least 6 days a week and is very consistent with my lifting. I know with all the hard work I put in has really helped me with gaining this extra size and weight.

Also I felt my overall recovery was a lot better and did not feel as sore. I felt my performance in the gym was way better since I started using this product. I know it has made a big difference in how well my lifts have gone. Each day I would workout I seemed to feel a lot better and more ready to do my workouts that day. It is such a great feeling for me to be on creatine again because I feel way better and don't have to struggle as much trying to do my workouts. I know that when I am feeling really good and stronger it makes for much more enjoyable workouts for me and that is a big reason I like using creatine so much.

Overall my stomach seemed to be pretty good while using this. I maybe had a little bit of bloating from this I noticed but nothing real bad like I have had with other creatines in the past. Besides the 5g of mono they use I don't think the other ingredients help a huge amount but did help some and I look at them as just an added bonus to have in this.

      Value

Right now the cheapest I could find this was on bestpricenutrition.com and they want $24 for 30 servings. For a product like this I think that is a fairly decent price. On most other sites that sell this they want around low to mid 30 dollar range.

      Side Effects

      Nothing I noticed.

      Conclusion

Overall I think they have a pretty solid and effective creatine product. I really like the ingredient profile for this and feel they have some really good stuff they use in this. If you want a product that will really help you performance better in the gym, give you some good strength gains and some good over all recovery this is a product I would highly recommend checking out. If you can get it for the price I mentioned above it is more than worth getting. Yes I would be more than happy to use this again. Now to find other creatine product that will live up to this one that I have not all ready used will be a little hard to do considering how well this work for me. Again I want to give a big shout out to Redcon1 for making this product and letting me have the chance to give it a try.

        Introduction

I have to admit, I've been a little bit of a Redcon1 fan-boy as of late. What started off as a love simply for the packaging, has turned into my supplement cabinet littered with their products that I'm eagerly awaiting trying out over the next few months. Tango was a no-brainer for me, a creatine blend consisting of three forms equaling a total of 7 grams, with a few added ingredients for recovery? I'm all about it. I've tried so many different brands of creatine products, from the simplest monohydrates to ridiculous blends, and always find some sort of success with it. It's rare though that a product turns out to be as beneficial as Tango is, as my recovery time seemed to nearly be cut in half & the fullness I felt outside of the gym made me feel much bigger than I really am. While actual strength gains were undiscovered because of my current training style, I just felt better in the gym, bigger and healthier feeling pumps and a real noticeable increase in muscular endurance that had me killing one training session after the next.

What makes Tango stand out though? Let's dig a bit.

        Ingredient Profile

Tango features a fully transparent ingredient label consisting of seven total ingredients. I just have to take a second to praise Redcon1 for these fully open labels in 2018, it's such a beautiful thing. Brings a tear to my eye.

As we see here, Tango is pretty loaded up. You can really feel the three grams of creatine every single day taking this product, and especially after passing the two week mark. I love this blend of products, and the dosing is exactly how I'd do it, ya know, if I owned a huge supplement company and had expectations to match.

        Taste/Mixability/Dosing

Taste: Between the few flavors available, I eagerly grabbed Grape & had huge expectations for it. I'll put it this way, I looked forward to mixing this up after every training session. The taste was damn near perfect, not strong enough to push you away but that perfect flavor profile that I actually missed when it was all gone.

Mixability: My prior experiences with creatine products made me watch carefully when drinking Tango, as creatine has a reputation for not mixing too well, and some of the products I've tried have been absolute hell to mix. Tango exceeded my expectations, only settling at the bottom when I let the bottle sit for too long, which was very rare. It's very smooth, never dealing with a mouthful of powder or the feeling of "pebbles" in my teeth after each sip (which is more common than I ever thought), and never felt the need to re-fill the shaker bottle to clear out the rest of the powder.

Dosing: This was the only real struggle I had over the forty-some days I was using the product. According to the label, maximum effectiveness is at two scoops per day. At that rate, you're only looking at 15 days worth of product. I decided to start off with a single scoop post-workout and in the morning on non-training days, and after a week and a half, jumped up to two scoops per day. I noticed a huge difference in the way I felt after bumping this up to two scoops, but I won't debunk using a single scoop instead of two. Using a single scoop you're going to get the full 30 days out of the product and still reap major benefits at that dosing.

        Effectiveness

As I had mentioned before, I used a single scoop of Tango on non-training days and post-workout for the first week and a half. That first week, I noticed some small changes in recovery time but that could also be from my BCAA product or diet. It wasn't until I bumped up to the recommended two scoops per day that the big changes kicked in. My recovery time felt nearly cut in half, and halfway through I even cut out my BCAA's to try and simplify final conclusion, and my recovery remained just as great as it was before. In the gym, my muscular pump & endurance shot up tremendously, I noticed full pumps within just a few warm-up sets and this was even on days I didn't take a pre-workout. The entire duration I used the product, every workout just felt so great, and as somebody who loves achieving the most ridiculous pump possible, this did the job for me!

Outside of the gym, I noticed huge improvements in muscle fullness & hardness every single day. I noticed more size in my shoulders and arms the most, and my shirt sleeves felt a tad tighter passing the 2-3 week mark of consistently using Tango. I always noticed a general change while on creatine, but something about this just felt so much better. I felt like I always had a decent pump, and glancing in my reflections while out shopping became more of an enjoyment rather than a fear of mine. Of course, there's a lot of factors for me noticing these changes, but for the last week off of the product, I've noticed a very slight decrease in the changes I noticed most. Just the feeling I had everyday from being on Tango is worth the price alone & I already miss it.

        Value

Tango has a price range from $24-$35, the higher price seeming to be the average at retail stores. At single dosing, the thirty servings are worth the slightly over $1 per serving asking price, and doubling up on that I don't mind paying the $24 lowest asking price I found. You can snag a good creatine monohydrate powder for much less than this but if you've never used a creatine blend before or just really want a high end product, I'd pay anything within the general range. No complaints there.

        Side Effects

        None.

        Conclusion

Tango is killer, as I move on to my next creatine product, I can't help but think about the giant shoes it has to fill. It's worth trying for much more than just the killer pumps you get in the gym, but the recovery time increase and the fullness you get outside of the gym, as it just feels so damn good. There's no proprietary blends, no extra junk or fluff, and the taste is awesome. Try taking this and not looking forward to drinking it after a hard training session, you look forward to it! In my opinion, another killer addition to Redcon1's already awesome line-up of products & an absolute stand out product on the shelves at your local retailer. It's time for companies to step up their game & get on Tango's level.

        Introduction

38 years old, active duty Army, and I lift 4-5 days a week with some light conditioning thrown in. I always enjoy keeping a Creatine product in my stack, it has become one of the proven supplements out there that actually does work. I remember the old days of Creatine freaking everyone out because people were not drinking enough water daily. Luckily those days are gone. This was part of my REDCON1 stack I ran in the last month or so, and is my 4th review of the 9 products I took. Lets see if this Creatine made me want to do the Tango!

        Ingredient Profile

As with other REDCON1 products the label here is fully disclosed, which is always a nice thing. There are no wasted ingredients in here, making this a simple and effective Creatine, which in reality is what you should be looking for in a Creatine. Overall, Creatine is a molecule that can rapidly produce energy (ATP) to support cellular function. It also exhibits performance-enhancing and neuroprotective properties. Creatine is well-researched and remarkably safe for most people. Thats where the name of this supplement comes out the T in ATP and in the Phonetic alphabet we say Tango for T. Since this is the first review on this product, lets do my normal breakdown of ingredients and turn this ant hill into a mountain.

Creatine Monohydrate (5g):This is the most common form of Creatine, and typically the default of most creatine products out there. It has decent intenstinal absorption and is typically the standard when comparing different forms of Creatine. This is the form of Creatine where you typically need to load, but over the years that seems to be more of a myth than a reality. I did not load this product and we can talk that in effectiveness below. The dose here is a nice start, someone at my size requires around 8g Creatine daily, so happy here.

Betaine Anhydrous (2.5g):Betaine (trimethylglycine) is an active metabolite of Choline in the body and a component of beetroot. It serves a vital role in methylation in the body alongside folate, and is an osmoregulator like Creatine. Betaine is also a possible ergogenic aid. Recommended dosing here is between 2.5 - 6g, but according to Examine 1.25g taken twice daily aids in Power output. With the 2.5g here that hits the minimal mark, and really what we are using Creatine for, so i am good with this dose.

Creatine HCI (1g): A form of creatine characterized by the molecule being bound to a hydrochloric acid moiety. It is claimed to require a lower dosage than creatine monohydrate, but this claim has not been tested.

Creatine Magnapower (1g): Also known as Magnesium Creatine Chelate, this process bonds magnesium to creatine which means it is absorbed via a different pathway compared to creatine mono. The idea here is that using a different transporter to get the creatine to the muscle cells, less is lost in transport and broken down into waste product creatine. Also, using magnesium creatine chelate can lead to greater absorption of creatine into muscle cells with less bloating and side effects associated with creatine mono. Taurine (1g):Taurine is an organic acid which acts as a lipid/membrane stablilizer in the body and can aid various anti-oxidant defense systems. Recommended dosing here is 500mg - 2g daily, and not to exceed 3g. We have a nice dose of 1g here.

L-Ornithine L-Aspartate (1g):Ornithine is one of the three amino acids involved in the Urea cycle, alongside L-Arginine and L-Citrulline; these amino acids appears to reduce elevated ammonia levels when supplemented, and preliminary evidence suggests an ergogenic role due to this. In the end, ornithine looks somewhat promising for reducing ammonia concentrations in the blood and thus enhancing performance of prolonged exercise (45 minutes or more) which is in part due to it being elevated in the blood for a few hours after ingestion despite exercise. Dosing here vaires depending on the form of Ornithine, for this particular form 3 - 9g would be suggested since this is 50% Ornithine. So this is a bit of a small dose, but since this ingredient has potential I thought it was a nice inclusion.

One dose gets us 7g of Creatine, which is very close to what I would need daily and this is more Creatine per dose than I am used to seeing in the Creatine products I have taken. Not real sure how I feel about the Ornithine being included, but its a new ingredient to me, and it goes aid in performance, so it seems to be fine included here. This is at least a more unique approach to a Creatine profile that I have seen.

        Taste/Mixability/Dosing

Taste: I got the Grape flavor and it tasted pretty good to me. It was a simple grape flavor and not sweet. I basically chugged this anyways, and the flavor was well suited for that method.

Mixability: This mixed easily in my shaker, but like just about every REDCON1 product I have had it left small grit on the bottom of the shaker. No big deal, as it washed out easily, but just something to note. I mixed this in about 10oz of water, that usually is my water level when I mix supplements to get some more water in me and for mixability.

Dosing: Creatine dosing is always a hot topic and varies depending on who you ask. I decided to take this post workout since that was the suggested use on the directions. The directions call to take up to 2 scoops a day, but for me 1 scoop was fine. Even though they are touting this is a post workout recovery drink, I can see this working pre or intra workout with the ingredients included.

        Effectiveness

The reason I take Creatine is to get that muscle fullness look and for it to aid in my strength and recovery. Recovery is very hard to judge here since I also take BCAAs, and for strength I take a PWO and was taking HALO alongside this. The muscle fullness I experienced on Tango was pretty great. Within a couple days of starting this, I saw the muscle fullness. My strength also increased while taking this but I mostly chalk all that up to a consistent lifting regimen, as the gains were not mind blowing, they were consistent. As far as the recovery aspect goes, it may have helped but I really did not experience anything outside my ordinary recovery times. This could be based off timing of the Creatine, but who knows.

What I really like here is getting 7g of Creatine per dose, and not having that bloated feeling. Products I have taken in the past that have less Creatine, I did experience the bloated feeling when I would doubl doses. Tango really did not just throw on water weight here either, as I did not lose size, if at all, when I ran out. I have been off this for a few days and I do think this helped teach my body to maintain that muscle fullness. I am not experiencing as much fullness being off it versus being on it, if that makes sense.

There are no real big label claims to go off of, however Tango is designed to be taken Post Workout according to its description. I am not real sure it makes that big of difference recovery wise as you would find in a recovery type supplement, but as a Creatine this works great.

        Value

I bought this from REDCON1 for $34.99 for 30 servings. That comes out to $1.17 per serving. So that is super expensive for a blend that is mostly Monohydrate. However, you can find it cheaper on A1 Supplements for $24.99 for 30 servings coming out to 83 cents a serving. So once again, I managed to pay a higher price for this product. So since you can find this at a better value than I did I will rate the value based off 83 cents a serving, which is not that bad, still a bit up there, but at leats it did not breach the 1 dollar per serving mark.

        Side Effects

        None.

        Conclusion

Overall, I was happy with my run of Tango. This was one of the most effective and smoothest Creatine Blends I have run to date. It tasted fine, went down easy, and gave me some good results in the muscle fullness department. Find this on a sale or buy it cheaper (basically, don't buy it from REDCON1's website) and you have yourself a nice Creatine blend. Yeah it is mostly Monohydrate, but you are getting 2g of other forms of Creatine and some Orthinine and Betaine. If you are in the market for a Creatine blend, then give tango a shot!
