MyProtein

Founded in 2004, Myprotein is a well-known UK supplement brand. It is based in Warrington, Cheshire.

Its founder is Oliver Cookson – who started the brand with a £500 overdraft. Seven years later, in 2011, Cookson sold Myprotein to The Hut Group (THG) for £60 million. Other brands in The Hut Group stable include Myvitamins, Exante, Hale, IdealFit, IdealShape, IdealRaw, Mass and more.

Myprotein products are now sold in 70 countries through the brand’s “dedicated team” of staff, athletes and “active influencers”.

As the Myprotein name relates to a specific type of supplement, it may come as a surprise to learn that a long list of products are sold under the Myprotein name. The range features whey protein, milk and casein, vegan protein, weight gainers and amino acids. It’s vast line of proteins also includes vegan and diet options.

According to the brand website, its most popular nutrition products are All-Natural Peanut Butter, Impact Whey Protein and the Protein Brownie.

Besides protein and related products, other supplements sold on the Myprotein website include creatine monohydrate, electrolytes, vitamins, caffeine pills, pre-workouts, fat binders and pump enhancers, as well as clothing and accessories.

Those behind the brand use a section of www.myprotein.com to describe how their production methods result in “the highest-quality supplements”. The brand says that it ensures quality by using only the “finest-quality ingredients” from trusted suppliers, while “state-of-the-art” in-house facilities “cut out unnecessary costs”.

As a part of The Hut Group, the brand also has access to in-house testing equipment to ensures “100% purity”. As proof of this, Myprotein carries several accreditations. It works with ALS (an UKAS accredited quality partner) to make sure in-house testing procedures meet the brand’s own high standards.

A number of Myprotein products have also been tested and graded by Labdoor and Informed-Sport. As a result of the latter accreditation, many Myprotein products are proven to be free from banned substances and are listed as “trusted by sport”.
