Phenaprin Ingredients Breakdown

L- Phenylalanine – 200mg

This ingredient is certainly popular online, with many claiming it’s been the secret ingredient to their fast weight loss journey. Despite the overwhelming amount of anecdotal evidence, it’s reputation in the scientific literature is rather poor, with the majority of these claims being hotly contested.

That being the case, there are some papers that report positive results, such as a 2017 study that took 6 healthy male volunteers that were randomized to receive either three grams of phenylalanine or placebo. The results of this paper are lead the researchers to conclude that pre-exercise supplementation of phenylalanine may stimulate whole body fat oxidation [1].

There’s just a couple of problems here, such as the miniscule size of the study, as 6 patients just isn’t enough to provide sufficient evidence at all. Secondly, the dosing is 15 times the amount included in Phenaprin, so to suggest similar results may occur is pretty unrealistic

Theobromine – 140mg

Have you ever wondered exactly what it is that makes chocolate so poisonous for our canine friends? Well you’re looking at it. Theobromine is an alkaloid present in the cacao bean, and as such is present in most coffee and chocolate based foods and beverages.

We didn’t just bring up dogs as a fun little fat however, as it’s the study from 1917 that revealed this that has led to Theobromine being considered useful for weight loss [2]. Despite this absolute lack of evidence, Theobromine has since been sold as a natural weight loss supplement, mostly as a herbal tea drink but as we can see here it’s also made it’s way into many weight loss pills.

That being said we did find another study with promising results. This study found that Theobromine was able to alleviate diet-induced obesity by browning white adipose tissue, as well as activating white adipose tissue (for those unaware, white adipose tissue is stored fat, which is accessed by the body via a process of browning). this is very promising, but again the study was an animal study on rats. There’s still yet to be any kind of human-based trial [3].

Caffeine Anhydrous – 70mg

Thanks to coffee being a beloved and culturally significant drink the world over, our understanding of caffeine surpasses most other natural weight loss supplements, and it’s found to be a very effective fat burner on multiple different levels.

First of all, let’s talk about how caffeine is a natural appetite suppressant. If you’re an avid drinker of caffeine you may have already noticed, as it’s quite uncommon that those who reach for a coffee first thing on a morning actually eat a breakfast. This makes sense considering the study we found that shows when caffeine is ingested 0.5-4 hours before eating, it reduced the amount of calories eaten [4].

Not only does caffeine hell to reduce the amount of calories you eat, but it’s actually able to actively increase metabolism and energy levels. This ability comes from caffeines effects as a thermogenic fat burner, which is a fancy way of saying caffeine is able to increase the amount of body heat that is generated via a process of calories being burned. This means that caffeine is able to increase both your metabolic and thermogenic rates simultaneously, essentially burning fat whilst resting [5].

Finally is something you’re more likely to be familiar with, as it’s related directly to caffeines role as a stimulant. You may or may not be aware of pre-workout drinks, but incase you’re not, they’re drinks you’re supposed to have before lifting weights or a cardio session at the gym, and their secret is simple: caffeine. You’ll be hard pressed to find one that lacks this popular stimulant, and there’s a good reason for that. In fact, we found a clinical trial that found caffeine will actually increase the intensity of workout sessions without any prompting from the researchers whatsoever. This may not apply to everyone, but it’s just another reason caffeine is such an amazing fat burning supplement [6].

L- Carnitine – 70mg

L-Carnitine is an essential nutrient that is naturally present in many foods, and is also synthesised endogenously in the liver, kidneys, and brain from the amino acids lysine and methionine. It plays a critical role in energy production, being responsible for transporting long chain fatty acids into cells [7].

It’s these roles in metabolism and energy levels that have caused a large amount of research to be conducted into it’s potential to help support weight loss, and it’s mostly positive results. This can be seen in a systematic review containing 43 individual randomly controlled trials. After combing through these trials the researchers found that L-Carnitine showed anti-obesity effects, though only in overweight and obese subjects [8].

Taurine – 50mg

An extremely common ingredient in many energy drinks, and is even involved in the branding and marketing quite heavily for one (you know the one). There were rumours going around that it was derived from bull semen, but even if it may be present there, it’s really just an amino acid and is likely derived from much easier to source proteins, such as brain and heart, or created synthetically.

As you can imagine with it’s common use in energy drinks, Taurine plays a fundamental role in metabolism and energy levels, making it another prime candidate for research into it’s potential anti-obesity effects. This research has been mostly positive, such as one randomised clinical trial we found that found taurine was able to help women to lose weight more effectively when supplementing taurine than when dieting alone [9]. That said, these results were dosed at 3 grams per day, meaning Phenaprin’s 50mg isn’t really going to do very much for you.

7-Keto – 10mg

Keto is definitely a buzzword in the weight loss world, and the diet has certainly seen a lot of success so it’s somewhat warranted. However as with all buzzwords, sometimes we can see something get wrongly associated. 7-Keto has been sold as a dietary supplement that supposedly bolsters the bodies natural fat burning hormones, but since it originally hit the market, more rigorous testing has been conducted, so how does it fare?

Well it seems that as it stands, people are quite mixed on it, with a fair amount of clinical literature producing promising results, yet with a similar amount struggling to replicate this. We found a systematic study and out of 686 total studies only found 4 that had a low enough risk of bias. Two of these studies reported a reduction to body weight, whereas the other two instead only reported a decrease in fat percentage or BMI respectively. The researchers concluded that with the evidence that is currently available, no clear answer can be given regarding 7-Keto and weight loss [10].

Customers Phenaprin Reviews

Customers Phenaprin reviews were a bit of a mixed bag, a few people said they saw some minimal results, but the average of 3*s on Amazon did seem to be a pretty good round up. There didn’t seem to be a huge amount of fake reviews and it’s pretty much what we’d expect to see.

There were relatively few complaints of phenaprin side effects which was a good sign, but considering there are far better options there’s nothing here to really recommend it over anything else.

As for other 3rrd party platforms such as reddit, there were no legitimate reviews of phenaprin at the time of writing.

Negative Phenaprin reviews largely seemed to focus on the product simply not working.

Phenaprin Review Conclusion

So there’s our full review of Phenaprin and unfortunately we’re not left with a very good impression. It’s use of caffeine anhydrous is great, we love to see it, and L-Carnitine is a less popular but still great option for helping people who are struggling with losing weight. However, it lacks any meaningful form of appetite suppressant for a start, which is one of the areas people struggling to maintain a healthy diet require support in the most. Some glucomannan would have gone a long way to improving impressions as just caffeine isn’t fool proof on it’s own. It also provides no vitamin support, and this is one of the cheapest ways to improve your formula when it comes to weight loss supplements. B-Vitamins and Vitamin D are all closely linked with metabolism, with deficiencies being linked to obesity directly.

This is why we fully recommend you instead try something like Instant Knockout Cut, as it’s just a much better formula for tackling excess body fat and helping you to get in shape. It has caffeine and glucomannan, as well as vitamins B6, B12 and D to help support you on your weight loss journey, but it also has some amazing and slightly more specialised ingredients, such as L-theanine and Green Tea Extract.

L-Theanine is able activate the browning of white adipose tissue, just as Theobromine in Phenaprin, but has human controlled studies that prove this, where Theobromine only has animal studies. It also helps to reduce stress and anxiety, which can be major causes of cheating your diet and giving in to food cravings. Green tea extract also contains ECGC, which has been seen to help reduce hip-waist ratios and improve BMI.

We highly recommend Instant Knockout Cut, and you can see for yourself why it’s such an amazing weight loss supplement by clicking the link below.
