OLLY Nutrition (or just OLLY) is a nutrition brand based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The company was founded by Eric Ryan and Brad Harrington in April 2015. Ryan is also co-founder of Method Products, while Harrington was once a marketing executive at Shaklee.

OLLY Nutrition is a “Certified B Corporation” – which acts as evidence that “doing good is in [its] DNA”. How does the company do good? Well, according to the brand website, the OLLY team cares “deeply for [its] community” - and its members continue to support local causes (such as creating a garden for a nearby school).

Ryan says he and his business partner started OLLY Nutrition to provide supplements that were “really pleasant” and even “fun” for the consumer to take. To help achieve this, the company created a range of gummies that were tasty and chewy alternative to the standards pills or capsules other brands tend to sell.

OLLY products include multivitamins, protein powders and bars, probiotic sticks and more. According to the brand website’s FAQ page, all of its supplements are made “in accordance with the FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)”.

FDA employees regularly inspect OLLY Nutrition’s manufacturing facilities to ensure the brand’s products continue to meet or exceed the required safety standards. This also ensures that every product label reflects the content of its bottle.    

Ryan is widely-regarded as a savvy marketer – and everything from the name of the brand to the products’ square bottles are arguably the things that help OLLY Nutrition stand out in a saturated supplement industry.

However, Ryan states that the brand is much more than marketing hype. According to an interview with CNBC, one of first moves the co-founders made to hire a “chief medical officer” to ensure the products would help users achieve the results they wanted.
