This is an advanced multivitamin complex designed to provide improved immune support, more energy, improved muscle function, and a boost to overall health. If you’re looking for a quick answer then I’m sorry to report that I do not recommend this product. It’s not terrible mind you, but it doesn’t quite hit the mark with what it claims to do, whereas there are great products out there such as Prime Male T-Vitamins that actually do provide improved athletic performance. I’ll go into more detail as we go on, but I personally wouldn’t purchase muscletech platinum multivitamin, and instead recommend you check out Prime Male T-Vitamins, it’s a better vitamin supplement and goes for a great price.

Vitamin A – 1,800 MCG
Vitamin A is know to help improve vision above all else, though it’s alos known to help improve heart health, lung function, immune function, skin health, and growth. It also plays important roles in regulating reproductive and cell function, making it essential that you meet your daily requirements [1].
Vitamin C – 135 MG
Vitamin C is another vitamin that the general public is very aware of, as it’s famously present in citrus fruits. It’s mainly known for its interactions with collagen, aiding with wound healing, muscle growth, and recovery. It’s also a potent antioxidant, improving the immune system and helping to prevent diseases [2].
Vitamin D – 10 MCG
Vitamin D is known as the sun vitamin, as it’s synthesised through UV rays that get absorbed through the skin. It plays an important role in maintaining bone density and strength, as well as keeping your heart and muscles strong. What’s lesser known is how vitamin D is also essential for regulating mental health and testosterone production, helping to prevent depression and improving strength and stamina [3].
Unfortunately despite these amazing effects, muscletech have not provided enough to cover your daily requirements.
Vitamin E – 40.1 MG
Vitamin E is primarily known to be an antioxidant, helping to fight off oxidative stress in your cells. It’s also known to play important roles in keeping your eyes, skin, and brain functioning optimally [4].
Thiamine – 20.2 MG
Also known as vitamin B1, Thiamin is primarily used for cell growth, helping to maintain healthy cells throughout your body. It’s known to improve energy levels and focus, as well as playing essential roles in the proper functioning of your nervous system [5].
Whilst vitamin D was underdosed, Thiamin has been dosed far beyond what is considered necessary or even effective, potentially leading to some adverse effects.
Riboflavin – 13.3 MG
Vitamin B2 here plays a highly important role in regulating immune response by improving antibody production. It’s also known to improve muscle growth and repair, as well as aiding in blood cell production, and acting as an anti inflammatory [6].
Similar to Vitamin B1, B2 here has been dosed far beyond what is recommended.
Niacin – 30 MG
Niacin is an often overlooked vitamin, as it’s responsible for over 400 enzymes to function within the body, which is more than any other vitamin. It’s been observed to improve brain function an cognition, as well as aiding in digestive and immune health [7].
Vitamin B6 – 10.2 MG
Back to more commonly known vitamins, here we have vitamin B6. It’s known primarily for its roles in energy metabolism, and can help increase and sustain energy levels. We also see that vitamin B6 is vital for brain health, playing an important role in the creation of neurotransmitters, helping to reduce brain fog tremendously [8].
Once again we see a much larger than necessary dose, and whilst I’ve mentioned previously that this can lead to adverse effects, it’s also just inefficient. Your body can only absorb so much, so having far too much of any individual vitamin is going to dilute the effectiveness of the entire supplement.
Folate – 510 MCG
Another B vitamin here with B9, which is mostly known for it’s important role in producing DNA and RNA. We also see metabolic support, as it’s essential for the body to properly metabolise important amino acids [9].
Vitamin B12 – 100 MCG
Similar to vitamin B6, vitamin B12 is one of the better known essential vitamins. Similar to B9, B12 plays an important role in keeping DNA healthy, as well ensuring your body can create healthy red blood cells. It’s been found to regulate testosterone levels, improve energy, and aid with mental clarity and depression [10].
This is another case of being dosed in an extreme amount, risking side effects and nausea in particular.
Biotin – 165 MCG
Biotin mainly plays its role in metabolism, helping the body to absorb and utilise amino acids, carbohydrates, and fat. It’s also known to regulate blood sugar levels, reducing the risk or symptoms of diabetes [11].
I know I’m sounding like a broken record right not but again, there’s way more than your body can absorb here.
Pantothenic Acid – 80 MG
Pantothenic acid is known to improve brain function and memory thanks to it’s role in the production of neurotransmitters. It also helps to improve your metabolism, primarily helping you to breakdown and absorb fats [12].
This is another example of an ingredient beyond dosed far beyond your needs.
Choline – 10 MG
The body uses choline in two ways, and the first is to create a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine that is important for memory, mood, muscle control, and other brain functions. The second is in the creation of cell membranes, as all animal and plant cells require choline to preserve their structural integrity [13].
Here we see an extremely low dose compared to your bodies needs.
Calcium – 180 MG
Calcium is one of the better known essential minerals, known to helping to keep bones and teeth healthy. It’s also know to help improve heart health, supporting muscle growth and overall well-being [14].
Unfortunately we’re once again seeing a dose far below what is required.
Magnesium – 145 MG
Magnesium is highly important for male health, having a huge impact on hormone balancing if levels drop too low. This is mainly because of how it regulate sex hormone binding globulin, which binds to testosterone in the blood to prevent your body from making use of it [15].
Here however, there’s just not enough once again.
Zinc – 13.3 MG
Zinc is another essential mineral for male health, being present in abundance in organs such as the thyroid and prostate. It helps to regulate these organs and improve their functioning, as well as supporting your immune system, and helping with wound healing and blood clotting [16].
Copper – 1.05 MG
Whilst we might think copper is only used to make pennies, it’s actualy vitally important for your body to function properly. It aids in red blood cell production and helps to improve your bodies ability to absorb nutrients [17].
Manganese – 2.2 MG
Manganese plays many important roles in your body, such as regulating blood sugar levels and working as an anti inflammatory. It’s also essential for the proper formation and growth of bones [18].
Molybdenum – 10 MCG
Molybdenum is a lesser know essential trace mineral that is required for the proper functioning of many enzymes within the body, making it essential for metabolic function [19]
Here however, we are once again dealing with a dose that is far too low.
Sodium – 20 MG
Sodium plays many very important roles in our bodies, from nerve function to muscle contractions. It also helps to retain water within the body, helping your skin, muscles and organs to stay hydrated [20].
We’re seeing a very low amount here once again.
Potassium – 40 MG
Potassium works with sodium in order to promote optimal fluid levels throughout your body, helping your muscles and organs to function properly at the cellular level. It’s also important for regulating blood sugar levels, heart rate, and can act as an anti inflammatory [21].
Here again there’s just not enough for it to have much of an effect.
Amino Support Matrix – 816 MG
Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and as such are invaluable for your bodies ability to build and maintain muscle mass. The formula here includes glycine, L-methionine, L-citrulline malate, l-arginine HCL, and L-cysteine.
Whilst these are all invaluable, the majority of the formula is taken up by glycine, which is very easy to get from a basic diet.
Herbal Matrix – 401 MG
Their herbal matrix consists of ginkgo biloba powder, green coffee extract, grape extract, turmeric extract, saw palmetto extract, echinacea extract, and octacosanol.
These have almost all been found to have benefits for the body from clinical trials, but we once again run into dosing issues as there’s just not enough for any significant benefits.
Mineral Support Complex – 115 MG
The Mineral Support Complex includes potassium, choline, inositol, and boron. Potassium and choline were already included in the base formula, so it’s odd that they’ve included more here, but there are two new faces to look at.
Inositol is an odd one as the clinical data seems inconclusive. There’s some that are claiming an improvement to blood sugar and insulin resistance, but these claims have not been proven [22]
Boron however has been found to be effective at improving testosterone levels in the blood by blocking sex hormone binding globulin. It’s also been seen to improve blood flow and help reduce inflammation [23].
Enzyme Complex – 50 MG
This enzyme complex is supposed to help support digestion, and provides the enzymes amylase and papain.
The problem is, you guessed it, dosage. There’s just no where near enough for these to have any effect.
MuscleTech Platinum Multivitamin Price
As it’s purchasable from various online retailers, the price is quite variable. Amazon is where the majority of the sales are made, which sells it for $13.39 or $23.72 for their 1 and 2 month supplies. This works out to $0.45 or $0.39 per serving, making it a fairly cost effective supplement.
My Experience with MuscleTech Platinum
On the product page, MuscleTech Platinum claims to offer an advanced multivitamin complex packed with general health support, as well as improved athletic performance. It’s formula features vitamins that are certainly able to deliver, but on the whole this is far from a complete formula.
As I broke down in the ingredients and benefits section, many ingredients are dosed carelessly, leaving many to be ineffective. This goes both ways as well, with many more ingredients being dosed far beyond what our bodies can absorb. Unfortunately, this can cause some side effects, such as nausea and stomach pain, which I struggled with myself. It is worth mentioning that I started taking them with a larger meal in the morning, which helped a lot, but it’s still not something you want to be dealing with.
Did I feel much benefit? Well, it’s difficult when it comes to multivitamins as they help you in a lot of ways that you won’t necessarily notice right away. That said, with the side effects I felt, it’s safe to say I felt worse taking MuscleTech Platinum, though perhaps extended use would result in further benefit. However, this isn’t really required for a lot of the competing brands and products that offer similar benefits to MuscleTech.
Overall I was glad to take these out of my supplement regimen after the week was up, and my digestion quickly recovered thereafter.
Customer Reviews
Online reviews are a pain, as we all know they’re inundated with bots and as such, it’s worth taking high praise with a pinch of salt. MuscleTech’s multivitamin has a 4.5 stars out of 5, which is comprised of a whopping 70% perfect scores. This is outstanding, but again, pinch of salt. When you take a closer look, you can see mild praise at best is what makes up the majority of these five star reviews, with very little specificity provided at all.
When looking at the complaints we see a completely different story, as the vast majority of these complaints are regarding the digestive issues this supplement can cause, thanks to improper dosing.
Trustpilot does a much better job of detecting and removing fake reviews, and as such is a far more honest reflection of the consumer response to a company. Here, MuscleTech has only achieved a 2.2 out of 5 stars, made up of 81% 1 star reviews. The complaints are as expected, people complaining of feeling ill when ingesting Muscletech products.

Overall I’m very disappointed with muscletech’s multivitamin. It contains far too much of many ingredients, and far too little of many more, causing nausea and stomach pain whilst not providing much of a benefit.
