BrainPill Review

Brain Pill is a nootropic supplement made by Leading Edge Health, which is based in Victoria, Canada. Leading Edge Health has been in business for over 20 years producing dietary supplements. This company produces a big range of dietary supplements and skin care products.

The company claims Brain Pill can increase your overall brain health. In their advertising Leading Edge Health focuses on the claims that Brain Pill will reduce brain fog, boost cognitive abilities, increase mental alertness and improves cognitive performance.

While Brain Pill includes some good ingredients that can improve your mental performance it is not one of the best brain supplements available. The biggest problem with Brain pill is the dosage of the ingredients. The dosage of some of the essential ingredients is too low to be impactful on your mental performance.

Does Brain Pill work to improve your brain function?

Leading Edge Health claims that Brain Pill can help with improving your brain performance and cognitive abilities. They say Brain Pill effects also include reducing fogginess of the brain and increase brain power and mental clarity.

On the official website of the company they have a list of scientific evidence, even including a study done on Brain Pill specifically. But no links are provided to verify these results ourselves. So while this seems to back up their claims, we are not so easily convinced.

There are definitely some ingredients in Brain Pill that can improve brain function. Some of these have a dosage that will have a significant impact that will improve your cognitive functions. Bacopa monnieri and citicoline are among those.

Brain Pill also has some supplements of which there is not enough included in the formula. It is a shame to see that Brain Pill uses quality ingredients but does not adequately dose them. Both ginkgo biloba and L-tyrosine have low dosage. Dietary supplements focusing on brain performance should include a higher amount of these to be more effective.

Brain Pill Ingredients

The manufacturers of Brain Pill claim that their nootropic supplement can eliminate brain fog and prevent your brain from slowing down. They claim that the 13 Brain Pill ingredients will help with this as well as improve your overall brain performance.

The company claims that Brain Pill’s ingredients have a synergistic effect on your brain performance. In this way Brain Pill should improve your mental alertness and lift brain fog, the company claims. We will look at the effectiveness of each of the ingredients and their dosage.

Brain Pill ingredients include some effective supplements that will improve your brain performance. Some of these are accurately dosed, while some have a much too low dosage. There are also some ingredients that have an unnecessarily high dose included in the formula.

Unfortunately, there are also some important ingredients that could have been included and have not been used in the formula of Brain Pill. Ashwagandha root would have been a good addition to this supplement. This root can help lower your blood pressure and reduce stress levels.

Bacopa monnieri

Bacopa monnieri is a popular nootropic supplement often found in brain supplements. This nootropic supplement has many health benefits. It is used to slow down cognitive decline and restore the brain. This brain supplement also has antioxidant properties that can help protect the brain from harmful free radicals. Clinical studies suggest using 300 to 450 mg per day. So the dosage seems accurate.

Citicoline

Citicoline can help improve your psychomotor and cognitive functioning. This brain supplement can improve acetylcholine neurotransmitter production. This can give you a boost to memory and motivation. On top of that, citicoline can rescue nerve fibers from degeneration. This helps improve your brain function significantly. The amount of citicoline that Brain pill contains is sufficient to impact your brain health.

L-tyrosine

Tyrosine is an essential amino acid that produces dopamine and noradrenaline. This amino acid supports neurotransmitter production directly. Tyrosine has been proven in multiple clinical studies that tyrosine improves memory, mental health and especially cognitive function. For a noticeable impact on your brain health a nootropic supplement should contain much more of this amino acid.

 Phosphatidylserine

Phosphatidylserine can help maintain the health of brain cells and prevent a decline in brain volume as you grow older. Phosphatidylserine can help with shuttling growth factors up and down the axons of brain cells.

This is quite important as brain cells can be rather long in comparison to their overall size. In this way, phosphatidylserine can give more support to cell maintenance. It seems that Brain pill has a proper dosage of this brain supplement to improve your brain health.

Ginkgo biloba extract

Ginkgo biloba extract increases your blood circulation. By improving your blood flow it can help lift brain fog and improve your mental alertness. It is also an antioxidant that can lower your blood pressure. Ginkgo biloba extract has been shown in studies to help improve mental clarity for healthy volunteers as well as people suffering from mild and even moderate dementia.

These effects are usually seen after a longer period of using dietary supplements including ginkgo biloba. While this is a great ingredient of Brain pill it does not contain enough. It would be better if the dosage were higher.

L-theanine

L-theanine improves mental health and cognitive performance. Clinical research that involves people with depressive disorder has shown positive effects on sleep, verbal memory, test score accuracy and anxiety. It can also help lift brain fog and counter cognitive decline. L-theanine is also used by people to lose weight because of its long term benefits. For a proper impact dietary supplements with L-theanine should contain a higher dose than Brain pill includes in their formula.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 can optimize your brain performance in multiple ways. It can assist in the production of your body’s blood supply, specifically new red blood cells, which carry oxygen. Vitamin B12 can also increase neurotransmitter production. This is an essential part of dietary supplements that want to improve overall brain health. However, the dosage is very high and could easily be lowered without lowering the impact of the supplement.

Vitamin B9

Vitamin B9, or folic acid, is an essential vitamin in the development of red blood cells. If you have a deficiency this may cause a decline in neurotransmitter production and increase the risk of cognitive decline and even dementia.

Furthermore folic acid plays a role in the synthesis of serotonin. This can improve your mental health and help you gain a positive mental attitude. While folic acid is an important supplement, Brain pill includes a dosage that is unnecessarily high. A lower dose of vitamin B9 would be sufficient as well.

Brain Pill Review: Conclusion

Brain Pill is not one of the best nootropic supplements currently on the market. There are better dietary supplements to improve your brain performance. Look for brain supplements that have the proper ingredients and proper dosage of each ingredient.

Brain Pill contains some quality ingredients which can improve your brain function. Some of these have a decent dosage and will actually help increase your brain performance. But there are also a bunch of ingredients that do not have a high enough dose to be impactful as a cognitive enhancer. You’re much better off with Hunter Focus (currently rated our number one nootropic) it contains all of the ingredients listed in our brain pill review, in their proper doses and with a lot more to boot, and it’s no different on the price.
