C4 Extreme by Cellucor is a concentrate pre-workout supplement. It follows the trend set by other companies, and has quickly gained a large following due to its hard hitting focus and 'tunnel vision'. It also is one of the first pre-workouts to incorporate creatine nitrate as the main creatine source, which proves to be a very effective ingredient in promoting muscle pumps and endurance.
Like many of its competitiors, it also contains 1, 3 Dimethylamylamine HCL, beta alanine and of course arginine.
Combine all of these positive benefits with what is said to be Cellucor's best value, and you have a solid pre-workout supplement.

This is my unbiased review on Cellucor C4, which I bought a few months back and finished about a month ago. I did complete an entire container of this.
Purchased this from GNC, got the Hemo Rage which I did a previous review of and this for 35 bucks. This version DOES HAVE the 1,3 DMAA, it was not the newer formula.
Taste (8/10): I got the orange flavor. It was good, not as sour as Jack3d and way better than the NO2 Red.
Effectiveness (8/10): This PWO gave good consistent energy throughout the workout. I did have some higher BP when on it, but no anti-erections or other problems commonly associated with 1,3 dimeth. Other notable ingredients are Niacin, B12, Beta-Alanine 1.5 g, Creatine Nitrate 1 g, Arginine AKG 1 g.
Pump was also somewhat lacking in this, I figured with the NO3 built in it would be comparable to actually taking NO3, but why would Cellucor do that when they can get you to buy two things instead of one?
Focus (6/10): The one complaint about this product that I do have is the lack of tunnel vision/focus that I have gotten from other PWO's.
Value (8/10): I got a good deal on this, and it is decently cheap at about 25-30 bucks for 30 servings. There are cheaper alternatives, but I never had to take more than a scoop and a half.
Overall (8/10): I gave this straight 8's because I do like this preworkout and I probably would buy it again, but currently I have so many PWO's its hard for me to imagine ever actually having to purchase one...lol Anyway, this is a good choice, better than black powder, hemo rage, and comparable to jack3d in in the gym effects. The only thing it was clearly lacking in was giving me focus like some other PWO's do. Give this stuff a try with the 1,3 dimeth if you can find it and you won't be disappointed...maybe not blown away either but not mad about buying it.

This was a very solid product overall, it didn't disappoint me in any area. I was able to get this at GNC during gold card week for about $30, and seeing that this had 30 2-scoop servings, $1/workout is a pretty good value. Great, now for the technical stuff...
Taste + Mixability: 9/10. I had the Orange flavor, and honestly it was a refreshing change up from anything I've had before. I've never really ventured out from the fruit punch and blue raspberry flavors, but I'm glad I got this C4 in Orange. I would imagine if they made an Orange Jolly Rancher (idk if they do), it would taste like this C4 does lol. It didn't matter how much or how little water I mixed it in, it never tasted remotely bad or bitter. As far as mixability, there would always be a few specs of creatine floating around at the bottom. Nothing another quick shake of water can't fix.
Ingredient Profile: 8/10. This was a really "clean" product in terms of content. 0 calories and carbs, plenty of Vitamin C, and the Energy Blend really allowed me to focus and zone in on my upcoming workout when I took it 15-20 minutes preworkout. That being said, the strength and pump ingredients leave a bit to be desired. Per 2 scoops, you get 3 g Beta Alanine, which was noticeable at first but then wore off about 2 weeks in. 2g of creatine nitrate... Not sure about this one but I would venture to say that this provided the pump in the product, not the 2g of AAKG because that's ineffective at providing a pump.
Strength/Fullness: 8/10. Like I said earlier, the beta alanine was really noticable at first and allowed me to force out a few more reps, and I'd venture to say that even though I wasn't feeling that itch, it was buffing lactic acid all the same. The creatine nitrate did seem to up my strength a bit, but nothing dramatic. The energy blend, once again, would probably be the best contributor to strength. This really amped me up and allowed me to cut resting time and stay intense. From before running this to after, I got about +5 lbs on all of my lifts (over the course of a month), which is pretty good considering I was cutting for the first 3 weeks of the month.
Pump: 6/10. Meh... Nothing dramatic here. The creatine nitrate and AAKG combo would give me a bit of a pump, but nothing much more that a regular workout would. If your looking for a preworkout that makes you noticeably more vascular, I wouldn't recommend this.
Energy: 9/10. This is the highlight of C4. Even though they took the 1,3-Di out of the prop blend recently, it doesn't dissappoint, especially if you limit your caffeine consumption throughout the day. I'd say more of your energy comes from the intense focus; after you take this you don't want to do anything but lift. And be prepared to sweat your ass off lol. With 2 scoops, I didn't get any jitters or any crashes afterwords, just a nice clean rise and then a return to normal levels about an hour after my workout.
Overall: 8/10. If you're looking for vascularity, this one probably isn't for you. But in almost any other case, if you want energy, focus, strength, or if you're even just bored with what you have now, I'd give C4 a run. Great value to begin with, and if you can find a sale then it's a great steal.
Props to Cellucor for making a solid, AFFORDABLE product, now I just wish they'd make some of their other stuff less expensive...

I normally just stick with SP250 and Jack3d as my PWOs. I’m in a more focused environment for most of the year and wanted to try some new things. C4 has recently been very popular so I gave it a shot.
Energy 8/10
So here is the main reason most of us take a PWO. We want that energy boost to make us gym apes! Most of the comments on the forum say they get a lot of energy from this. I started with just one scoop because of that. NOTE: I had taken 30 days off Jack3d before starting this to be fair in the evaluation. The first couple of days, I couldn’t really feel anything. I bumped up to 1.5 scoops and started to feel the tingles. At this point I found that my energy level was also increasing. I was able to use that dosage for a couple of weeks and then had to go up to 2 scoops. By the end of the container I was up to 2.5 scoops. I couldn’t really feel the tingles anymore by the end but it did seem the energy was still there.
One problem that I had mainly because of the shift I was on, was taking this on an empty stomach. I never had that problem with the other two but with this one, if I wasn’t on an empty stomach, I got NOTHING out of it. Once I went back to day shift this wasn’t such a problem however.
Pump 0/10
I got no pump at all from this product. I used it for about a week to see if it ever kicked in a pump. Nothing. I added Nitrox II to my pre-game and BAM! Great pump to go with the energy!
Focus 5/10
I can honestly say the only product that has ever given me “tunnel vision focus” was Yok3d. I don’t get easily distracted in the gym so focus is not a problem. I didn’t notice anything different in this area.
Taste 9/10
I was very impressed with the taste of this. I had the fruit punch. It was not quite like Kool-Aid fruit punch but it was pretty close for me. I had it a few times as a stand alone but most of the time I mixed it with the blue ConCret. That was a phenomenal taste!
Value 6/10
$40 for 60 servings which came out to be about a month’s worth of workouts for me. That isn’t too bad but I do get a better value with SP250 and Jack3d. In fact, I don’t have to add the N2 with the SP250 so it’s even a better value for me. I get the SP250 for about $25 for the 40 servings. I start out with one scoop and go to 2 about halfway through. (this is not the SPMax which I have yet to try).
If I put the math to it, each one last me about a month or 25 workouts for C4 20 workouts for SP250. About $1.60 + cost of N2 for C4 and $1.25 for SP250.
Mixability 8/10
I thought that it mixed pretty well too. I even had the CC in there and didn’t really have any grainy taste to speak of. There was a couple times I didn’t shake it as much because I was talking on the phone and driving at the same time. Those times there was a little left in the bottom of the shaker.
Overall 7/10
I think this is a good product but it seems a bit overpriced for the way my body reacts to it. I’ll use it again because it was effective and I really liked the taste. Mixing it with CC and adding the N2 caps was a great stack for me! I did not have any bad side effects from this product. I slept well and did not crash after using.
If I catch this on sale, I’ll be buying more for sure.

| Great review. I'm running this right now and I know about trying to take PWO's on an empty stomach but I figured eating a small breakfast (protein shake, yogurt, cheerios) and then dosing this 1 hour later was fine. After reading your review today, I went with a protein shake and a bit of yogurt then C4 1 hour later and the effects were much greater. |

I’ve always been unimpressed by Cellucor as a supplement company. In my eyes their products are far too overpriced and overhyped, and I simply have a hard time swallowing the whole “you’re paying for results” argument. That being said, I was impressed when GlausenLMT offered to send me a tub of C4 to try before its mainstream release. I put the tub aside for a while as I was beta-testing another product and then was cycling off stimulants, however I just finished my 30 serving tub this afternoon and, as promised to Glausen, wanted to write a review about my experience.
TASTE: 9.5/10
Straight up, C4 is the best tasting PWO that I’ve tried (I’ve also had Jack3d, SP250, White Flood, 1MR, Dark Rage, etc.). The fruit punch flavor tastes almost exactly like red Kool-Aid. It’s not overly sweet or sour, nor does it have the medicinal after taste that plagues some of the other pre-workouts on the market. I’ve yet try the orange, but I was exactly pretty excited when I saw that it was the next flavor option as I generally really like orange flavored supplements.
MIXABILITY: 9.5/10
Again, C4 impresses in this department. The powder mixes smoothly with no clumping and very little gritty residue. Generally I mixed C4 in 16 oz. of water and it usually only took 15 seconds of shaking for the product to fully dissolve.
EFFECTIVENESS:
I need to split this category up a bit in order to full illustrate my experience with C4.
ENERGY & FOCUS: 8.5/10
C4 provides a very strong and effective energy boost that I would rank 2nd out of the products I’ve tried (behind 1MR). Generally I dosed 1 to 1 ½ scoops about 30 minutes pre-workout. Even on days when I was feeling a bit sluggish, C4 was able to wake me up and get me excited for the gym. I am generally very stim-tolerant, so it was a nice surprise that I didn’t need to go completely overboard with the product in order to achieve the desired effects. This was one of the big problems I had with Jack3d – even 3 scoops sometimes wasn’t enough to provide the energy kick that I needed.
For the most part C4 provided me with clean energy and a moderate increase in focus. I will say that on some occasions I felt a bit jittery throughout my workouts, but I never had any issues with crashing or headaches or anything along those lines.
PUMP: 3/10
Unfortunately C4 really doesn’t do much in providing a muscle-pump. I usually would fix this issue by stacking C4 with Nitrox II - which is a stellar combo by the way. Although C4 does advertise itself as providing the necessary N.O. for a workout pump, Glausen admitted to me that primarily C4 was an energy product and wasn’t really designed with “pump” in mind.
VALUE: 8/10
A 30-serving tub is going to cost between $20-25 depending on what size you buy and where you purchase the product. This equates to a cost of roughly .66c per scoop. In contrast, Jack3d and White Flood both come in around an affordable .50c per scoop, while SP250 costs a bit more at .84c per scoop. Granted the value of each of these products is going to depend on exactly how much of the product is needed for maximum efficiency.
For me, needing a scoop and a half is about on par in terms of per-serving cost with both Jack3d and White Flood. I certainly don’t feel that C4 puts either of these products to shame in terms of value, but I am impressed that Cellucor has finally realized that in order to be competitive in this market, their products need to be more affordable. C4 is certainly a step in the right direction in this regard.
OVERALL: 8/10
I very much enjoyed my tub of C4 and will certainly consider purchasing it again in the future. Although I am personally not a huge fan of products that primarily provide energy and focus, C4 certainly hits the mark in both of the areas. Depending on what you want in your pre-workout, C4 may be an excellent option. I personally feel that Jack3d and White Flood are bit more well-rounded in terms of providing focus, energy, and pump, however if all you want is an intense energy boost, then C4 may be a great fit for you.
Overall I am going to rank C4 just about even with Jack3d, with both of them being a close second to 1MR, which remains my favorite pre-workout product.

Just finished up my tub of C4 Extreme, thanks to Clausen for allowing me to beta test it.
First off I approached this with some skepticism, since I was rather disappointed with IsoPro Nitro Sport. I honestly didn't know what to expect, & boy was I blown away.
Effectiveness: A+
Right off the bat with one scoop I noticed a big difference from other PWOs. I can honestly say it was the cleanest energy I've ever had, better than with a personal favourite Jack3d. You don't notice anything different, & that kinda took me by suprise. With Jack3d you feel something, although it wasn't jitters. With C4 E I didn't feel any different, I just found myself pushing more weight for more reps & extra sets. At 2 scoops it got better, & I started hitting PRs with this stuff. Over the past 3 weeks my deadlift went from 405 to 430, 440, & 450 today. Best part was I walked away feeling I could do more. As compared to Jack3d C4 E takes the edge. Even though I hit PRs with Jack3d as well, nothing like this. Between the energy & confidence with C4 E I haven't made strides like this in awhile.
Pumps were good to great. The pumps seemed to be the best on smaller body parts like calves & arms. I have exceptionally strong calves, & I usually don't get a pump there. Even on one scoop I noticed a good pump & increased vascularity, which blew me away. On 2 scoops my calves ballooned to epic proportions. I remeber after seated calf extensions I looked down & I swear my claves double in size. Amrs were no different. However, on the larger body parts the pumps were on point with Jack3d. They were good, but no owhere near the calves & arms.
I noticed the Beta Alanine some, with slight itching here & there (I think that's a side effect). Other than that I think the Beta Alanine is appropriately dosed.
No negative side effects, which is great. I haven't noticed any sides with PWOs, so maybe I'm not the best opinion in this area. I'm not tolerant to stims, but I'm also not sensitive.
Overall for me this was the best PWO I've taken to date.
Mixability: A-
Mixed well. The best ratio was 10 oz of water to 1 scoop of C4 E. It worked well with 8 oz, but best at 10 oz. For 2 scoops you could get away with 16oz, but it was best at 20oz. Any less you'd get some grit at the bottom. From my experience this is typical of PWOs, but still better than others I've tried.
Taste: B+
It tasted good, but bitter at times. With one scoop it wasn't so bitter, but at 2 scoops if you didn't use the appropriate water levels you'd get hit with some bitterness at the end of the sip/drink. I had the fruit punch, it tasted alright. Better than NO Xplode, not as good as SuperPump Max.
Value: B+
I got it for free, so I shopped the price around. I tried to got to the big 3 (my big 3): BodyBuilding.com Vitamins Shoppe, & GNC.
Vitamin Shoppe doesn't carry it, or the website just doesn't show it.
BodyBuilding.com-$24.99
GNC-$31.99 w/Gold Card
Same as Jack3d, for 15 less servings (30 for C4, 45 for Jack3d). However though, I'm not complaining. You can get by rather well on one scoop, & if you catch a good sale 2 scoops is an option. With Jack3d I always do 2 scoops, so a tub goes by in 3-4 weeks. This stuff lasted me a good 3 weeks as well, with better results. Its not a better value IMO, but it is a good value. The question here is: would you pay for it? My answer is yes, I'll pay full MSRP if I hafta. I like it that much.
Overall: A
I grade this out high based upon effectiveness. As I've stated, its the best so far. Best energy & the cleanest, great pumps, no crash, no downside...excpet that I don't have anymore. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, & I would definitely use this again.

I was pretty impressed when I tried this pre-workout product.
It is a brand new pre-workout product developed by Cellucor which is known for its outlandishly overpriced supplements but this certain one strays from the pack and is actually affordable!
You can purchase it for as low as $22.99 shipped. The canister also lasted me a little over a month so I gave the product a 9 for value since it packs alot of punch in an adequate serving size for an affordable price which beats out alot or most of its competition.
Effectiveness:
I gave it a 9 as well just because a 10 would mean its inconceivable for it to be any better.
C4 Extreme was extremely effective and it had me itching to lift weights within 20-30 minutes of taking it. I would especially notice the beta-alanine tingling in my car ride to the gym.
Each scoop contains 100mg caffeine, as well as 1,3 dimethyl, and rauwolscine which is a fancy way to name alpha-yohimbine.
By combining those 3 stimulants, it made the perfect environment for me to power through any workout with zero lethargy and most importantly, no crash after my workout at all.
My endurance increased while taking C4 and I give credit to the odd form of creatine called Creatine Nitrate which has zero clinical studies to show its effectiveness but my anecdotal personal study at least says it works quite well. The arginine in C4 Extreme is alpha ketoglutarate which has clinical studies to show its effectiveness.
C4 also has mucuna pruriens which contain L-dopa and it contributes to nitrogen retention when used in a PWO formula.
Taste/Mixability:
The taste was surprisingly good. It had no bitter end taste like Jack3d does and mixes very easily. The only available flavor currently is fruit punch but thats what im used to anyways when it comes to PWO's.
Side effects:
rapid heart beat. I would have an adrenaline rush the entire time at the gym but this also made performing cardio very difficult and made me feel quite uneasy which is always the case when I take yohimbine.
I would advise future users to just use this as a pre-workout only since it makes cardio ineffective because of the raise in heartrate that does not correspond to your bodies need for oxygen.
This about sums up the review but I just would like to add that the actual packaging of C4 Extreme is very cool, with the chrome exterior and the fake carbon fiber wrap. Its very high speed.

You didn't mention anything about pump. What did you think of this compared to Jack3d in the pump department? |

| Eh, the pump was fairly good Cray. I rarely get a pump when I lift regardless of lifting style. Its probably due to my low carb diet but even when I consume carbs, its rare for me to get a really good pump. |

| Alright thanks, great review btw. One more question, I see that it is 30 servings. Right now 2 scoops with jacked is good enough for me, but it also minimizes how long it last me. How many scoops did it you have to use for c4 compared to jacked? because if c4 is 30 servings, I want it to last me for 30 servings! lol |

| Well the container is 30 scoops and I usually used 2 scoops. The bottle recommends using 1-2 scoops so for me that means 2. But assess your own tolerance and 1 scoop could very well be all you need.
Sal,
I would say this product energized me moreso than made me stronger (even though being energized DOES make you stronger by increasing skeletal muscle contraction rates). I was able to push out more reps but not so much increase weights beyond what I normally could. I did make fantastic gains while on this PWO however... |

| If your referring to Super Charge Xtreme N.O. (the now discontinued version)... well that PWO was my unicorn. The only downfall is that it had carbs making it less versatile.
This stuff is great but provides different energy which is evident once you have tried both. |

| You say that the rapid heart beat negatively effected your cardio. Could you give an example of how much it did such as a decrease in your run time/speed? I currently use Jack3d for lifting days and cardio days and haven't had any issues with it on my cardio days. |

| No, Jack3d increases your aerobic capacity but C4 DECREASES capacity because it contains yohimbine which Jack3d does NOT.
Yohimbine inhibits cardio performance because it can incur difficulty breathing as well as rapid heartbeat which makes cardio performance plummet.
Jack3d does not incur any sort of difficulty breathing and in fact makes your aerobic capacity more efficient. |

| Hey man your review said C4 contains 1-3 Dime. I'm not sure if this was from an earlier formula of it, but the tub of c4 I'm looking at right now has no 1-3 dime in it at all. I got almost no energy from the product and I think if it had dime in it I would have. |

| Has anyone tried both the new version of c4 (135 mg caffeine, no 1,3 dimeth. ) compared to the original (100 mg caffeine w/ 1,3 dimeth.) if so did you notice a big difference?? |

Well this is my first review so keep that in mind. This was my second pre workout that I have tried and overall I believe it was a quality product. Keep in mind I do not lift weights but rather train jiu jitsu and do body weight circuits, so my ability to review "pump" will be extremely limited. So with those disclaimers here goes.
Taste 9/10
Overall this is by far the best tasting PWO I have tried (I have used several more since cycling off this). I had the orange flavor and could not be happier with it. The amount of Beta-Alanine (1500mg in one serving) will at times cause your lips to tingle a bit especially if you are taking 3 servings such as I was.
Effectiveness: 8/10
As I already stated, I am not a weight lifter. I do however train hard with body weight circuits and fighting for at least an hour and a half. I can say that C4 really met my expectations and allowed me to not gas out while sparing. The beta-alanine tingle that you get from it will gradually wear off as you work out but it can be fairly intense so if you are not a fan of it this PWO probably isn't for you.
Cost: 5/10
C4 seems to be priced right around 30 dollars in most places for 30 servings. That wouldn't be all that bad if 1 serving was enough but for me I needed to take 3 servings per workout. That makes it pretty expensive. Granted I am not sensitive at all to caffeine so that may be why I had to take 3 servings. Also I built a tolerance to this rather quickly. I went from 1 serving to the full 3 within a week and a half.
So in conclusion I believe this is a great PWO but just keep your eye out for when it goes on sale because a tub will unfortunately not last that long.

This product is a good product depending on what you want it for. If your looking for a product that gives a good pump, then this is not the product for you. However, this product gives you long lasting energy in the gym. Its a really good product overall. I had pink lemonade and it was really good. I crashed from this product one or two times maximum. This product can help you lose weight since it gives you long lasting energy in the gym.

I am now on my second container of this stuff after cycling off of PWO's for almost three months. I had the "fruit punch" flavor the first time through and it wasn't their best flavor. It was gritty and somewhat sour if not taken with enough water. Right now I'musing the "pink lemonade" flavor and it is really smooth compared to the "fruit punch". I have also tried a sample of the "blue raz" flavor, and it is smooth and sweet as well. Right now, I'm also stacking the C4 with Cellucor's NO3 pills. I have noticed greater pumps using this combination, and I'm hoping I won't build a tolerance as quickly as I did with my first container. This stuff is able to get me through most of my workouts with no problem, except with extremely long (2-3 hours) sessions. I do NOT take this if I'm strictly doing cardio or swimming because I have heard that mixing PWO's and endurance training can have less-than-optimal results. I have not used any other PWO's, so I cannot say if it works better than any other brands, but I'm currently satisfied with its performance.
QUICK REVIEW:
Taste - Pink lemonade and Blue Raz is the best I've tasted, but Fruit punch is gritty and sour
Side Effects - Sometimes skin is a little itchy, but that just lets me know it is doing its job
Other Supplements Taken - Gaspari Nutrition REAL MASS protein in the morning and after my workout/nights.
Mixability - Pink Lemonade and Blue Raz mix great while fruit punch is still really gritty.
Hope this helps!

Hello, this is my first ever energy supplement and I will be reviewing it in 3 categories, taste, value, and effectiveness.
I took C-4 because I was advised by one of the GNC guys (they always get me lol). During my first serving of the supplement, I felt like a psycho while working out, skipped my cardio and went right to the weights and I worked out for an hour without feeling like I was out of energy.
So to the actual review....
Taste(7/10)
I picked up the fruit punch flavor, it smells amazing, but don't let that heavenly smell take you on a ride, it tasted almost unbearable, putting it in more than 4 oz of water is terrible, just too much to drink, it's sour, and sort of bitter. I woke up in the middle of the night and tasted it in the back of my throat a few times.
Value(7.5/10)
As always, I'm trying to buy things at a bargain, and it just so happened that they had this on sale, 60 servings for $34 dollars, I bought it (GNC guy convinced me not to get Jack3d)and honestly, if you're not drinking this like Kool-aid then you'll get about 70 servings out of it. 1 scoop is more than enough for me.
Effectiveness(10/10)
The supplement definitely works, I felt like a raging monkey every time I worked out, I was focused and on a mission. I went to workout about 20 minutes after drinking it because I would start feeling a tingle or a little bit of an itch in my ears, arms and face. This is a stimulant so DO not take it at night or mid afternoon, I've done so and I'm already a late sleeper so I was up late watching paid-commercials lol.
Thank you all,
I hope you enjoyed my review,
also if anyone would like to suggest other stimulant supplements please do.
