Other Creatine

Creatine is among the best-studied sports supplements in the world. Still, some forms of creatine are not as well-known as others. Micronized creatine has smaller particles than monohydrate, which makes it easier to mix and increases its bioavailability. Creatine ethyl ester is creatine that undergoes esterification (is treated with alcohol and an acid catalyst). Ethyl ester is marketed for its ability to be absorbed better by the body than other forms of the nutrient. Creatine magnesium chelate is a form of creatine that is bound with magnesium – also with a view to making it more easily absorbed. Creatine citrate is blended with citric acid, which is said to make it more soluble in water. Other forms include creatine malate, creatine gluconate, creatine pyruvate and creatine alpha ketoglutarate.
