Optimum Nutrition

Based in Illinois, USA, Optimum Nutrition was founded in 1986. In 2008, it was purchased by Glanbia, a company with a global presence in the world of nutrition. As an international name, Optimum Nutrition has websites for markets in both the US and UK. The British arm of the brand has headquarters in Middlesbrough, UK.

The UK site states Optimum Nutrition takes a “hands-on approach to maintaining the very highest standards of quality.”

Optimum Nutrition UK makes all products in cGMP-approved facilities. It also states each plant boasts a Grade A BRC Food Certificate and is Informed Sport and Informed Choice registered. It is also the supplier of choice to the English Institute of Sport (EIS).

Optimum Nutrition is a huge global brand with a solid name and long list of products.

One of its popular supplements is the Gold Standard 100% Whey, described as the “world’s best-selling whey protein powder.” The stats back this up – 100% Whey boasts thousands of positive online reviews and is the brand’s best-selling product. This product is available in 20 different flavors. These include “Vanilla Ice Cream”, “Cake Donut”, and “Rocky Road”.

Another very popular product in the Optimum Nutrition range is Essential AmiN.O. Energy. It’s designed for muscle recovery, energy and focus, as well as “essential amino acid delivery”. Optimum Nutrition markets the product as both an “afternoon pick-me-up” and as “a pre-workout energy supplement.”

Essential AmiN.O. Energy comes in 16 flavors, including “Fruit Fusion”, “Blueberry Mojito”, and “Iced Café Vanilla”.

Optimum Nutrition also markets Opti-Men, a “complete Nutrient Optimization System”. With an impressively long list of ingredients, the product is designed to “support the nutrient needs of active men”.

By packing in 22 vital vitamins and minerals alongside many other ingredients, its makers certainly try to ensure Opti-Men lives up to the “complete” name.
