Weider

Also known as Weider Global Nutrition, Weider is an “active nutrition company”. It began life in 1936 and is based in Phoenix, Arizona.

The company was founded by Joe Weider – the creator of the world-famous Mr. Olympia and Ms. Olympia contests. Along with his brother Ben, Weider also founded the International Federation of Bodybuilders (IFBB) and published several magazines related to bodybuilding and fitness. These include Flex, Muscle & Fitness, Shape, and Men’s Fitness. In addition, Weider Global Nutrition was formed when its founder was just 17. With all of this in mind, it perhaps comes as no surprise that many consider the company’s founder the “father of bodybuilding”.

The brand is now a subsidiary of Weider Health and Fitness Inc, whose main headquarters is in Woodland Hills, California. The parent company also makes and sells products under the Mass 1000, Amino 6000 and Tiger Milk bar brands, and is now run by the late founder’s nephew Eric Weider.

Weider bases its philosophy on four key principles: “Quality”, “science”, “knowledge”, and “trust”. As part of its dedication to “quality”, the company says that it meets “all manufacturing and nutritional standards”. To ensure the right balance of “quality” and “efficiency”, Weider also states it bases its production standards on the FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

The Weider product range includes protein, amino acids, creatine, weight gainers, fat burners, testosterone boosters. and “diet & energy” supplements. Its “Wellness” category also includes heart and artery-health products.

According to the brand website, its six best-selling products are Mega Mass 4000 (“anabolic” mass gainer w/ added creatine), Dynamic Muscle Builder (protein powder), Mega Mass 2000 (“anabolic” mass gainer), 100% Whey (protein), Weight Gainer (“dynamic” protein and energy) and 100% Whey Ultimate Protein.

Weider products are made in the USA and are available to buy in over 120 countries.
