Introduction

Before I start I want to thank Gold Star Performance for giving me the opportunity to review New Jack. This is my first time using Gold Star Performance supplements and before the opportunity came along I've never heard of them. I took some time off using stimulants and this looked to be a high stim formula so I decided to try it. During the duration of this review I was training 5 to 6 days a week 2x a day - cardio in the morning and weight training in the evening.

Label Claim: Muscular Strength & Power - "Insert Poop Emojis Here"

Ingredient Profile

The ingredient profile is a "PROP BLEND" that contains 6 main ingredients totaling 4450mgs per serving. If you're looking for an all-around pwo then this isnt really for you.... this is more of a high stim energy pwo. In each serving your getting 350mgs of Caffeine which to some is high and to others is a good amount. Besides for the hefty caffeine amount, the prop blend is hiding under-dosed ingredients. My guess is they threw in some high stim ingredients to cover up the under dosed ingredients.

New Jack Proprietary Blend (4450mgs) The first three ingredients are common - next three not so much.
L-Citrulline
Beta Alanine
Agmatine Sulfate
2-Amino-5-Methyhexane - DMHA
Synephrine HCL - Alternative to Ephedrine/Fat Burning
Yohimbine HCL - Sexual Performance Enhancer/Fat Burning

Taste/Mixability/Dosing

Taste - I received the Cotton Candy flavor which is one of four currently available. The flavor tasted like liquid cotton cotton candy- overall not a bad flavor I give it an 8/10.

Mixability - There were no issues with mixability...... I didn't notice any kind of clumping or settlement.

Dosing - I mixed one scoop with 6-8 oz of water about 20 min before my evening training session. If you ask why I took a high stim pwo at night? I have a 3 month old who likes to stay up all night so it didn't really affect me.

Effectiveness

In terms of effectiveness I found New Jack to be very very inconsistent. The energy aspect was good as it should be with 350mg caffeine and stim ingredients. I'd say the best aspect from this formula was the thermogenisis, I was sweating like crazy each training session. The label claims muscular strength & power but I didn't notice a lick of that. You can tell there are a lot of underdosed ingredients that are over shadowed by DMHA and Caffeine. There was a sense of increased focus but it wasn't anything over the top.

Value

The cheapest value I could find for a 30 serving tub of New Jack was at Flex It Nutrition for $40 however that was the old formula. If you were to pay $40 for a tub then you'd be paying $1.33 per serving. Too be honest I would rather save my $40 and spend it on something else.

Side Effects

None

Conclusion

In conclusion Gold Star Performance New Jack is a very inconsistent pre-workout formula that is under dosed. If you are looking for an all-around pwo then this isn't for you, however if you are looking for a stim rush then this is for you. The prop blend and value really hurt the product (just my thought).

Introduction

What's up y'all!! BigRedd here with another review. I tend to dabble with a lot of different pre-workouts and run about three per cycle (eight weeks on two weeks off), so I'll explain a bit more.. I usually take a pre about every workout, one caffienated, one non stim, and one heavy stim for the most hardcore days (having stim-nonstim options helps keep tolerance to a minimum).

As always, a big "thank you" to Gold Star & the Trooper program. You're both pretty alright ;)

Ingredient Profile

To start off, we have only a few ingredients disclosed:
Taurine (750mg)
Tyrosine (300mg)
Caffeine Anhydrous (350mg)

Now.. as nice as it may seem to have these disclosed.. That momentum quickly comes to an end with the good ole' "Proprietary blend"

Well. Here it is. 4450mg of BS:
Citrulline?
Beta Alanine?
Agmatine Sulfate?
2-amino-5-methylhexane (New/Better DMHA)?
Synephrine HCL?
Yohimbe HCL?

The stupid thing here is that when formulating this product they didn't even seem to try in a couple aspects.. For example: Citruline is effective at 3-8grams to help engorge those working muscles with blood and nutrients, beta-alanine is effective at about 3-4grams toward endurance & strength, and agmatine helps generate a massive pump at 1-2grams... So tell me. At 4450mg (aka 4.45grams) does it look like anything but marketing?

My conclusion is that Gold Star decided to get shady and save money on the production costs by including the ingredients through a prop blend, but not disclosing how underdosed those ingredients were... I didn't think Gold Star was this type of "manipulative" company (especially after using Triple XXX and being amazed).. But I stand corrected, because this formula is BS.

Taste/Mixability/Dosing

I got the Cotton Candy flavor and it was pretty fantastic, I must admit...

Mixed perfect

The scoop was only 6grams 15-30min prior to exercise, so refer to the ingredient profile for the dosing issues.

Effectiveness

This product does still shine in the aspect of focus in my book! The methylhexamine & L-Tyrosine does add a very nice edge and it does not result in DMAA jitters or crash.

Pump.. As I suspected before using the product... Was nowhere to be found.

Endurance and energy was a nice aspect of New Jack. The caffeine and methylhexamine (DMHA) work nicely together to acomplish this.

Value

Its about $40 for 30servings of New Jack. So personally, I'd keep the $40...

Side Effects

None that weren't intended.

Conclusion

This product could certainly make a good focus and endurance pre on its own.. But if you're a seasoned lifter.. you'll want to pair this with a pure pump product. Then.. It's pretty badass (paired with Carbon Prep).

I would've given this a better rating, but the prop blend really pissed me off if you couldn't tell.. Reason being, I feel were at a point in this indistry where companies need to be honest.. Not necessarily should they do away with prop blends, but should definitely quit using them as a cover up for under dosed ingredients!

Most users aren't going to understand what they're looking at on a label. But nonetheless, thats no reason to take advantage of their ignorance. Using a prop blend like the one found here is pointless; its like making an illiterate immigrant proof read your essay... What good will it do?

Introduction + Supplement facts
Huge thank you to Gold Star Performance for their support of the SR Troops program. This is the second time that I've tried a product from this company. Back when Stack3d.com used to do giveaways I was lucky enough to win a tub of Triple X from these guys. Triple X was a great product for myself and the results were really good. When the brand put up New Jack I was excited to give it a try.
If you're looking for a full label pre-workout this is not one. With new jack you will get a prop blend of ingredients along with a little bit of full label. So it's a 50/50 mix with this product. First you will get Taurine at 750mg, then you get Tyrosine at 300mg, followed by caffeine at 350mg, and finally you get the 4.450g prop blend. In here you will find the beta-alanine, creatine, citrulline, agmatine sulfate, synephrine HCL, yohimbine, and finally 1,4, DMAA which I've never tried before.
Taste + Mixability + Dosing
The flavor I received was golly rancher which was good but not amazing. To me it really didn't taste like the real thing. So for the people that are looking for a great tasting pre workout you might want to look elsewhere. Take 1 scoop 15-30mins before workout with 8-10oz of water.

Effectiveness 9.2/10
Gold Star did a great job with this pre workout wow it hits pretty strong. I was really surprised to see how quick it kicked in. Usually around the 15-20min mark I was really noticing the new jack working and it would not stop from there. This 1,4 DMAA was no joke my energy and focus level were off the chart. Even on the days were I felt tired when I took new jack I was alert and ready to smash the weights. Even know this product does contain pro blends in certain areas I was able to still get a good pump along with great endurance. Even while I was doing my warm-up sets I was able to feel the pumps. The energy and focus aspect was pretty intense. New jack will give you sweat city while training delts at the gym. My workouts kept getting better while my lifts were getting stronger while on new jack. I felt like Johnny Jackson when I was sling the weights around. When I was training legs I hit a PR on squats with 545lbs for 2 reps, and 810lb for 2 reps on the legs press something that I never thought would happen. But new jack took me to a whole level with my training. Gold Star should change the name to new crack because you will feel cracked out on this stuff.

Value 5.0/10
There is not a lot of places that carry this stuff but I was able to find it at flex it nutrition. Where a 30 serving tub went for 36.99 which is a 1.23 per serving not the cheapest.

Side Effects

Zero Side effects

Conclusion

Wow I was really shocked with how effective this pre workout was. This is a great product for someone who is and advance user or someone that is looking to step up there pre workout game. The price per serving is a little step but I would buy again if I had the extra cash.

When a product comes along named "New Jack" it's pretty obvious they marketed as a replacement for the old, beloved, Original Jack3d. It's also gonna grab the older crowds attention. Gold Star Performance Supplements is a brand I'm not too familiar with, but I have seen their products in local "Mom & Pop" stores. Many thanks to Gold Star for allowing us to pick this apart.

PROFILE- 6
Prop-Blends are a dying breed. This one has some basic PreWorkout goodies, split into two parts. The first part has Taurine (750mg), Tyrosine (300mg) and thankfully Caffeine Anhydrous listed at 350mg. nothing wrong here, and that's a respectable amount of Caffeine to see on a label. The second part is the "New Jack" Prop blend is listed at a total of 4450mgs. In this blend is Citrulline, Beta-Alanine, Agmatine, 2-amino-5-methyhexanane (touted as"the new" DMHA), Synaphrine HCL, and Yohimbe HCL. No real surprises here, unless DMHA surprised you. I wasn't, but I'm sure glad it in here! Nothing groundbreaking or ingenuities, and I can't help but think lots of the ingredients aren't at clinical dosages.

I received the "Golly Rancher" flavor, and i'm not sure what I was expecting. It did taste like sweet candy, and was a very NEON blue when mixed in a glass! It mixed fine, tasted sweet but a bitter aftertaste. And took about 15 minutes to kick into gear.

EFFECTIVENESS- 5.7
Moments of brilliance mixed in with lots of mediocre, is about the best I could describe this. It was often inconsistent. What was consistent, and did hit was that 350mg of caffeine, which will wake most people up! But it was more of a fast "sugar rush" that tapered off within 45 minutes. The DMHA would sometimes almost make me too "dialed in" when it hit. Like one time when I was warming up on the treadmill (I usually do this for 7-10 minutes) when I got locked into a show on the TV. About 25 minutes later I realized I had spent a lot more time doing cardio then I wanted! Now, I'm gonna share some personal info about me; I'm going through a rough patch at home, and I'm not sure this one is gonna be fixable. I'd hit the gym as an escape, but often time found myself sitting on a bench really overthinking my situation instead of just waging war on the iron. That's what I'm talking about being too much "in the zone"! The biggest problem is that this focus was inconsistent each time; sometimes I got it, sometimes I didn't. I felt very little in the pump aspect, and muscle endurance wasn't much improved. I'm not really a responder to Agmatine, so your results may vary. Each negative detail I listed above could be overlooked on its own, but combined it adds up to a PreWorkout experience that's decent but not really a step above, considering the market is crowded with so many great options.

SIDE EFFECTS-8
There was really not much negative to say, when taking this. I felt no stomach issues. I would sweat like a horse, but it is a hot summer here in Central Cali. I never took this late in the day so I'm not sure if sleep would be affected. The bitter aftertaste was about the only thing I didn't like about this. Also, I never experienced a horrific crash after taking this.

VALUE-4.5
Average price online is right around $40 for a can of 30 scoops. For me, that's a bit too much considering the inconsistency and shortcomings i came across. if it was in the LOW 20's it'd be worth it for the energy and focus i did get. But with so many other options, this is just priced out of my radar.

OVERALL- 5.8
With so many other options available, I'd be hard pressed to buy or recommend this. This wasn't a bad product at all, but it just didn't hit the "upper echelon" in performance, energy, or focus. There's really no outstanding feature besides the initial caffeine buzz, that sets this apart (or level) with all the choices today. Other reviewers have had some good experiences with this, but in my case, it just missed the mark on some areas.

    Introduction

Big Shoutout to the guys over at Gold Star Performance Products for sending out a tub of New Jack to me (as well as a bunch of other goodies) through the SR Troops program. I train high volume hypertrophy style workouts early in the morning (5am), so Im always in need of a pre workout that can get me up and moving.

    Ingredient Profile

The profile of NJ is a proprietary blend (sort of) which does make it lose a few marks in my books right out of the gate. However several of the ingredient dosages are disclosed, so its not a total loss here.
The Highlights of the blend are:
    Caffeine Anhydrous 350mg
A mix of: Beta Alanine, L Citrulline, Creatine Monohydrate, Synephrine HCL, Yohimbine HCL and the newest DMHA like compound: 2-Amino-5-Methyhexane

    Taste/Mixability/Dosing

This product comes in a variety of flavours, I was sent the Cotton Candy. The mixability was perfect, no floaters or sinkers to note. The actual flavour was outstanding, not an overly sweet cotton candy, but a very distinct cotton candy flavour, well done Gold Star. Dosage is one scoop, and I experimented with between a single scoop (which was effective) and a 1.5 scoop as I got further into the container to see if I could obtain even better results with that. At 1.5 the stimulants were past the point of effective and were just too strong, I found my sweet spot at 1 heaping scoop.

    Effectiveness

Overall I was very impressed with New Jack for several reasons. Number one was the energy levels were fantastic, I was ready to walk through the gym door and crush the weights about 20 minutes after ingestion, a very clean long lasting energy that didn't come with a harsh crash. The mental focus and mood were also amazing, it must have been the 2-Amino-5-Methyhexane that did it but I felt confident in the gym and had an elevated state like focus. I did notice increases in sweat and body temperature as well. I was able to push through super set heavy workouts early in the mornings before work without having the come down/ crash when I made it to the office.

The areas that did lack however came with a lack of muscle pumps, with an undisclosed amount of L-Citrulline and Agmatine it seems as though they must be under dosed as there were no notable increases in muscle volume or pump during workouts. Another area of note was the lack of strength based ingredients like a strong dosage of creatine or something like a Peak ATP to work on the muscle power aspect of training. Therefore there were no notable strength increases that can be attributed to New Jack. No noticeable Beta Alanine tingles as well, which is something I usually suffer from, this does make me question the actual dosage of the Beta Alanine.

    Value

Retails online for 39.99 for 30 servings, this does place this at $1.33 per serving mark, however it gains points here because this is a true one scoop serving for most. Myself taking the heaping scoop places this slightly higher in terms of value, but I personally have no issue dishing out the cash when I know a product is proven to work for me.

    Side Effects

No side effects of crash from this product. Obviously don't take too close to bed time.

    Conclusion

In conclusion I was very impressed with New Jack from an energy and focus perspective. I truly was locked into my workouts and had no issues being motivated enough to train in the early hours of the morning. I would certainly purchase this product and give some of the other flavours a try. Overall if you're looking for a hard hitting pre workouts for a hypertrophy style workout this is a fantastic new option in the ever evolving pre workout market, if you're someone who trains in a strength or power based discipline (Like Powerlifting or olympic lifting) then you may want something that will give less stimulation but better increases in muscle power.
