Introduction

BigRedd here with another review! I do this for you ..

Thanks again for sending this stuff out Gold Star! I and the Trooper program both appreciate your participation!!

Ingredient Profile

To start off.. Eph Bomb hits you with a good dose of Caffiene Anhydrous @ 250mg.

(I would prefer this to be about 350mg of Caffiene-Di-Malate so that there is a slow, steady dispersion of caffiene with no crash.. But this will have to do)

The rest of the profile is not full-disclosure, as the following ingredients are listed at a measly 245mg...

First off is B-phenylethamine: this compound is mainly here to help regulate epinephrine, & nor-ephinephrine re-uptake (to prolong the effects of the DMHA).

Next is their patented form of DMHA (2-amino-5-methyl-hexane): increasing mood, focus, energy, and endurance through stimulation of the CNS (central-nervous-system).

Nettle Root: although often used for anti-inflammatory properties, it is also commonly used to increase natural testosterone; by inhibiting estrogen.. So I'm not quite sure what it's doing here...

Synephrine HCL (Orange Peel): is used here for its fat burning properties...

And last is Yohimbine HCL (Bark Extract): this is used to increase caloric expenditure through means of "cranking up the body's internal thermostat." So expect to sweat.. A lot...

So these ingredients make sense right? Yes. Yes they do.. But not at 245mg... That is Bullshit.

The effects of DMAA In full effect were reached at roughly 80mg, & DMHA is about 80% the strength of it.. Soo... Lets say DMHA is at 100mg in this prop blend. That only leaves 145mg for the remaining listed compounds! And guess what!? All of them need to be over 100+mg (except Yohimbine) in order to have the desired effects!!

Yep, you guessed it! They're pulling the wool over our eyes on yet another product.. Well, trying anyway...

Taste/Mixability/Dosing

Its pill form, no taste or mixability.

Dosing you can refer to the "ingredient profile" section for its issues. But dosing was 1 cap in the morning before/with breakfast. Possibly an additional cap with lunch (your choice).

Effectiveness

The euphoria is there.. But not for long.

It hits pretty hard and tapers off with no crash (thank God), but it wasn't anything to rave about..

The energy, endurance, and focus are all there, so it can certainly serve as a non-pump (but stim) pre-workout.. But thats about it... I'd say more, if there was more to the product, but there simply isn't.

I again had high hopes for this and wanted to believe Gold Star knew somethjng I didn't.. But they proved the direction of the company is monetary and no longer result driven...

Value

The value just isn't there. Sure you get 60servings for 35-40 bucks depending on where you go.. But spend $30 on dexaprine XT and you have a much better bang for your result driven buck! Again. This lacks value..

Side Effects

None that were unwanted.

Conclusion

Save your money and look toward other companies.. This one seems to have changed for the worst... I hope a rep can see these reviews and create a poo storm within the company, because I really want to support them & have ever since Triple XXX, but until that happens... I won't even waste claiming another Gold Star Performance product.

As always thank you for reading and I hope you all find this very helpful! Feedback welcome!!

 Pros:
 Cons:
  • Solid Ingredient Profile
  • Prop Blend
  • Underdosed
  • Not Effective

Introduction

Thanks to the gents at Gold Star Performance for supporting the TROOPs. This go round, I tested EPH Bomb, a thermogenic with an awesome name. So was this F-Bomb the bomb or a dud? Read on.

Ingredient Profile

(7/10)
The ingredients look solid, but it's a PROP BLEND...AAARGH! I absolutely HATE prop blends! Prop blends only get a pass from me if the total blend adds up to the proper doses of each ingredient. The only fully disclosed ingredient on the label is a somewhat decent amount of caffeine anhydrous (250 mg). The other ingredients are hidden in a surprisingly low 245 mg proprietary blend: B-phenylethylamine (PEA), 2-amino-5-methylhexane (DMHA), Nettle Root (Extract), Synephrine HCL, and Yohimbine HCL.

PEA is a mood, focus, and energy enhancer.
DMHA is a newer, less potent cousin of the almost-banned DMAA. Studies have concluded that a 150-200 milligram dose is needed for DMHA to be 90% as potent as DMAA.
Nettle Root, also known as Urtica Dioica, is used in many fat burners as an anti-inflammatory agent and a diuretic. Its sweet spot is anywhere between 250-500 mg.
Synephrine HCL is a compound found in orange peel and is similar in chemical structure to ephedra. Synephrine has been purported to have above average fat burning properties when dosed properly (100-120 mg).
Yohimbine HCL has been used in fat burners for years. The effective dosage for this compound is around 0.2 mg per pound of body weight.

Based on what I've read about the effective dosage of EPH Bomb's ingredients, the prop blend looks a little underdosed.
Apparently, there was another version of EPH Bomb that contained DMAA. Reviews on it were fairly positive.

Taste/Mixability/Dosing

There was no taste; just easy-to-swallow black capsules. The company recommends taking one capsule twice a day, which is what I did.

Effectiveness

(5.5/10)
I think I'm being generous with my rating because absolutely NOTHING happened! No appetite suppression, no fat loss, no increased energy, no thermogenic effects, and a loss of exactly 1 pound! Honestly, I'm not certain whether or not that was my doing, because in the past, I've lost way more than one pound in a month just from cutting out sodas and fruit juice.

Value

(6/10)
The cheapest I've been able to find EPH Bomb is on Amazon for $35.99; not exactly a bargain, considering there are many more effective, lower priced options widely available.

Side Effects

None

Conclusion

Gold Star Performance has another thermogenic out called Infrared. It still has a prop blend, but it's a much higher total (665 mg) and DMHA is the first ingredient listed. On paper, Infrared looks to be more effective than EPH Bomb. With that said, I would not recommend EPH Bomb to anybody. The ingredient profile looks solid enough, but the ingredients need to be fully disclosed and/or be dosed much higher.
