I don't know anyone fitting that description...

11g net carbs seems like a lot, but then again, I'm still trying to calibrate my understanding of carbs.  I guess my pint of Ben and Jerry's on Sunday night had 105g net carbs...  Is the stevia counted as a carb?

$9.99 on Amazon.  Just added one to my cart.

If your goal is to stay at 20g net or less then yes it would be a lot. Honestly I find that I can mix a few carbs in when running keto and still reap the benefits. Honestly if I am at 40 net or below I pretty much stay in ketosis non stop. If you are doing any kind of even semi intense training 11g of carbs is used up pretty quick. And as you get deeper into ketogenic dieting the more important having things like this becomes. This may not be exactly like real fudge mousse but it is pretty damn close. The more enjoyable you can make ketogenic dieting the more successful you will be.

Interesting.  I'll have to see how it goes.  I'm pretty sure that 20g is near impossible unless I cut out almost all veggies which I'm not willing to do.  For example, I just made some eggs with: bell peppers (2g), onions (3g), artichoke hearts (1g), riced cauliflower (2g) and spinach (1g).   That's a total of 9g of carbs right there.  Maybe I'm not having "full servings" of each.  Maybe I'll wait for my food scale to arrive.

When I messed with keto I had to get more than 75 -100 carbs in during the day or I would literally shut down. Being 6'3 and around 250. And having a very active physically job . I burn through a ton of energy during my 11 hr day. .. Then I hit the gym.  I tried to keep my carbs mostly post workout or early depending on what I was training. I did the 50 or less thing a few days. But the constant headache/ migraine was just too much.
Maybe you should TRAIN as hard as you HATE.

Bhb salts are the best thing against that headache. My gf tried keto with me, and she had a headache for 2 straight weeks. Tried finaflex bhb salts and headache went away for the most part.
If you can't explain it using simple words, you don't understand it well enough.

Sorry for the extended absence. I spent a LONG three days on the road Wednesday through Friday and then the wife's birthday was Saturday and I got put on babysitting duty all day Sunday so my wife could go spend the day with her sisters for her birthday. I'll try and get some updates on food and workouts while I was on the road. Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hey rookie married guy (20 on the way to 21 for me), it's called childcare not babysitting when they are yours....😉😉😜😜😎
Good decision on letting her go do what she wanted though, so you must be learning..........
Grandpa told me hug them and let them do what they want, it's easier that way......
And...
A good wife is worth her weight in gold, treat her that way.....

Hmmm, nostalgia must be kicking in this morning.  Oh well back to my smoothie.......

LOL. Fair enough man. It'll be four years in September for me. It was one hell of an epiphany for me when I realized that being right is overrated and definitely not worth the consequences involved. That and my wife is really an awesome person. So I don't mind babysit...i mean child caring for the day so she can go get pampered at the spa. (her sisters treat) Good women are hard to find so when you do find one, you better do your best to make sure she's happy.

Whew! It has been a long week and it's only Wednesday. Here's the stats on yesterday.

4:30am - 60 minutes of yoga with an emphasis on core strengthening.

8:00am -  Meal #1

1 Serving Overnight Oats and Blueberries

10:00am - Meal #2

2 Oz Roasted Almonds

12:30pm - Meal #3

1 and 1/2 Slices Swiss Cheese
4 oz roasted turkey
4 Slices Hard Salami
1 Flatout Wrap

3:30pm - Bench Press Day

Bench Press

135x5
135x5 - Warmup
135x10

175x5
205x3 - Work Sets
225x4

Between dieting and being out of the weight room for some time it is hard to not get discouraged at my current numbers. It was weird that 135 felt so light it was like I was barely lifting anything. Then the jump to 175 felt unusually heavy and 225 felt like I was trying to move a mountain. Frustrating considering I was moving 225 for 10 or more a few years ago.

Hammer Strength Incline Chest Press - Don't know the starting so the following is plate totals.

90x12
140x12
180x10
200x7

Dips/Plate Press Superset - All dips done with bodyweight only.

15 Dips/25x10 Plate Press

4 Sets Total

Low to High Cable Flys

25X12 for 4 Sets (25lbs per side on the stacks)

5:30pm - Meal #4

4 Large Eggs
90g Avocado

7:30pm

Half of a Totinos Party Pizza

So maybe not the healthiest choice on the planet but every once in a while I make one and split it with my kid. I assure you that you have never seen anyone eat anything so ravenously as my child eating a party pizza. Definitely don't mind sharing one with him every so often.

Daily Nutritional Totals

Calories: 1877
Carbs: 106g
Fat: 113g
Protein: 123g
Sugar: 12g
Fiber: 31g

Obviously the pizza threw me a bit off of my goal of around 40g of net carbs per day. Meant to drink a protein shake before bed but I just ended up falling asleep. Oh well. Hope everyone is having a good day!

It all works out in the end (my bag of Hershey's kisses last week). Also don't worry about the numbers they will be what they will, keep lifting smart and stay injury free (cough cough, I know I messed up on that one). The numbers will come back.

Letting go of your ego proves to be one of the most challenging aspects of coming back after being away for so long. But it will all work out in the end. It just sucks sometimes knowing that weight you were moving at one time with ease now gives you problems. There is only so much mental prep you can do when you embark on a 9 month long cut. LOL

Well I have hit a big time wall and the weight isn't falling off anymore. I am stepping up and hitting the Ketogenic dieting hard. I have taken some time off of being on strict Keto so it is time to get back to what I know will bring the success. I'm not sure if adding heavy weight training back into my exercise regiment is having an effect on weight loss but it seems to tie directly back to when I started with when the weight stopped coming off.

Sunday 2/11/18

8:00am - Meal #1

1tbsp Kerrygold Butter
1tbsp MCT Oil
1 oz heavy whipping cream
12oz coffee
1/2 scoop Superior Whey

Put it all in a blender while the coffee is hot and whip it up for about a minute.

10:00am - 60 minutes of yoga with an emphasis on standing balance postures.

11:30am - Meal #2

1 Slice Cheddar
6 Slices Hard Salami
1 String Cheese

1:00pm - Meal #3

2 oz Almonds
50g Strawberries
2oz Heavy Whipping Cream (Whipped into dessert with vanilla extract and stevia)
15g dark chocolate chips

2:30pm - Overhead Press Day

Overhead Press

60X5
75X5 - Warmup
90X5

110X5
125X3 - Worksets
140X7

95X10 - Five total sets completed for 10 reps as fast and explosive as possible while maintaining form.

Arnold Dumbbell Press

40X12
45X12
50X10
55X9

Bent Over Reverse Cable Flys/Hammer Cross Body Cable Curls Superset

10X12/20X12
15X12/25X12
20X10/30X12
20X10/35X12

Hanging Leg Raises

4 Sets of 25

Lateral Raises

20X12
25X12
30X10
30X10

5:00pm - Meal#4

16oz New York Strip Steak - It actually weighed in at 20oz but after all the fat was removed I got about 16oz of actual meat.

8:00pm - Meal #5

2 tbsp Natural PB

Daily Nutritional Totals

Calories: 2434
Carbs: 36g - 25g net
Fat: 170g
Protein: 189g
Sugar: 13g
Fiber: 11g

I went over my goal by about 350 calories but on days when I'm putting in close to two hours of exercise I don't really nitpick. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Nice work, and don't worry about those walls.  Sometimes the body needs to adjust.  I have had at least 2 times since August where my weight just stayed the same for a few weeks.  The big one was thanksgiving but if you maintain healthy eating it will start to come off eventually.  My friends remind me that the weight didn't come on in a week, it isn't going to come off in a week either, heck normally it takes longer to take off than put on.  Keep staying positive!!!

No doubt man. Hitting a wall doesn't mean that it is time to get discouraged. It just means you have to hit the wall hard enough to knock it the foo down!! Thanks for the words of inspiration buddy!
