IMO i would say it depends on how it was stored. Was it in a cool, dry, place? Or a hot and humid one? If it was the latter I would say the worst thing that could possibly happen from taking it is just diminished effects. If you open it and it looks bad or not natural don't take it.
Strength will come, but form is tough to master, practice it today and up the weight tomorrow.
