Can my 100% Whey Protein Expire??? « : March 23, 2011, 05:13:39 PM »
So my mom called me and said she found a 2lb. tub of 100% whey protein IDK if it was from me or my older brother but I swooped it up from her.Only thing is it says it expired 1/11:'( Can this powder really expire?? If so what kind of breakdown actually happens for it to expire?? THANKS.

The expiration date on most powders is waay too early, because the companies are forced to put an expiration date. Like stated above, only start worrying when it begins clumping inside the container, and smells bad

Yes it can. I found some protein in my kitchen that I forget about and it didn't mix right. It was very chalky and it tasted like poo. I drank it and it did not make me sick but the taste was terrible.  :-\

Hmm alright thanks guys it is still real fine no clumps at all it smells just fine too I think I might run it seeing as it only "expired" a few months ago.

About 6 months old. My stomach was fine, but my taste buds were not.
