Launched in 2003, IdealShape is a weight-loss supplement company for women. Its headquarters are in Lindon, Utah.
IdealShape, LLC was founded by David and Carla Meine in 2003 – and for many years, it was a real family business, with several of the couple’s children or relatives joining the fold. The couple formed IdealShape with the aim to “empower women”.
Carla Meine was named by Utah Business Magazine as one of the state’s “Top 10 business women” for nine years in a row. As well as using her business acumen to drive the business, she also developed healthy meal plans and recipes.
Meanwhile, David Meine is a certified hypnotherapist – and he was able to use this experience when helping to build the brand.
The company saw great success in its first decade and gained hundreds of thousands of customers across the United States. This success led the husband-and-wife team featured on national TV to promote their Health and Wellness Makeover and weight-loss system in 2012. In addition, IdealShape grew by 27% in 2013 alone.
By 2016 – 13 years after its inception – IdealShape was turning over $60 million online. According to Sky News, the company was also growing by 250% every year by this time.
Later in 2016, the Meine family sold IdealShape (and IdealFit – its sister brand) to The Hut Group (also known as THG). Hut is based in the UK – and its other brands include Extanté, Myvitamins and Myprotein. The Hut Group also owns IdealShape’s other sister brand, IdealRaw.
The IdealShape supplement line includes meal replacement shakes and low-calorie snack bars, as well as carb blockers and appetite suppressants.
Other products include a diet-plan eBook, a 15-day workout plan and another 12-week weight-loss workout plan. The brand also makes and sells hypnosis CDs and exercise equipment.
