I was reading a lot of good things about UP Whey and decided to stop the usual Gold Standard and give this baby a go.
Value- Usually a couple bucks cheaper than ON. Not enough to be a really big deal.
Profile- Maybe they changed their formula, but a previous review stated their was no whey concentrate. The ingredients list: "whey isolate, whey concentrate, hydrolyzed whey." The exact amounts are a mystery but this is the same order as the ON packaging ingredients. Only problem is it says it is "loaded with
BCAAs and
Glutamine" but I don't see where it says the exact amount. At least ON says 5 g or whatever--maybe you could find out online somewhere.
Taste & Mixability: I personally think that ON tastes better. It took awhile to get used to but by the end it actually tasted good. Some problems were the mixability. Sometimes there are clumps and if you shake it to get them all out you have to let it sit for a minute or two to get rid of all the foam. One positive is that I usually took ON with milk, but the Arctic Lemonade was good with water. If you're looking to cut out some extra cals with your shake then you might try this as it has a comparable profile to other
whey proteins but a non-dessert flavor
