Modern BCAA is an intra-workout branched chain amino acid supplemement. What makes it unique is its 8:1:1 ratio of the three BCAA's, designed to activate mTor. It is a valuable tool in promoting protein synthesis, preventing catabolism, reducing cortisol and increasing performance at the gym.

ive taken one amino acid supplement before this one, the GNC rapid Drive, and while it was a good supplement this one blew it away
supplement profile/Serving Size 2 Scoops Servings Per Container 35 Amount Per Serving % DV USPlabs Modern BCAA Proprietary Blend 10.00 g 0% Micronized L-Leucine ** Micronized L-Isoleucine ** Micronized L-Valine ** L-Alanyl- L-Glutamine (Sustamine)
one key plus on this is it has glutamine in it and has zero artificial colors or flavors and has a 8:1:1 BCAA ratio
Effectivness(9/10) : i took this along with EAS whey protien, kre-alkalyn, and jack3d and used it as a intra(some days i would mix it in with my whey) but within the third day of supplementing it ,i would wake up the next day hardly sore at all, i mean would work out six days a week and not feel like i needed two days off cause i just felt good, recovered and fresh, although that seventh day i didnt do ***,just rest, and the six day did cardio
i could tell a big difference in using usp m BCAA and GNC rapid dive and none at all, also using this product alone with out a pre workout gave me a tingling feeling and more muscle endurance in the gym ,id also use this on cardio days and could drink it without making me feel bloated and sick to my stomach
mixability(10/10) :i was using a 20oz bottle of water and mixing it up in there but with the help of a couple guys on the site im using a 64oz jug and mixing in that since i drink alot of water when working out, cant sip on it, but it mixes great, no clumps and mixes very clear like the label says on the supplement, you cant really tell its there if it was not for the taste and tingling effect
taste(8/10)i got the white blue raspberry flavor and taste is ,well hard to explain but it don’t leave a chalky taste in your mouth like like I experienced with GNC rapid Drive, its more like a refreshing cool blue taste but still not as refreshing as plain water but taste is good though, I guess all amino supplements will have a after taste to it that leaves you with a kind of dry taste on your mouth but this one was not that bad at all
value(8/10)I got this at GNC for 30 bucks which was not to bad a deal for 35 servings , rapid Drive was cheaper but this product just a lot better quality and also just found out that I can get this at AllStarHealth for 23 bucks, wwwaaaaayyy better deal
overall I have been supplementing mostly Just Whey and aminos and others and now that im starting to change my stack around and finding the Key Supplements this is one supplement that im going to keep as a stable
it is great for recovery and if your cycling off stims it can be used for a pre workout
ive used just whey protein before and didn’t get recovery like I did when I started supplementing with this
only used it for intra workout on weight lifting days and hard cardio days so one jug will last you over a month
so I would advise anyone to try it and give it a run

I was not very familiar with intraworkouts. i usually took a pre and used protein for post. I tried WAR and IntrAbolic first, then after all the hype I decided to give Modern BCAA a shot.
Value: 9
I bought this at AllStarHealth.com for about $24. ANy store online would have this for about that amount. Places like GNC and Vitamin Shoppe have them for over $30. The tub is about 35 servings (70 scoops). That is about $.69 per serving. Not bad, I actually used only one scoop but I will get to that.
Recovery: 11
Amazing!! What a difference from any other type of intra-workout. At first I was using 2 scoops but I went down to one because I am taking Animal Pak, using Pro Complex and Dymatize protein, so I get aminos throughout the day. I noticed no soreness at all after any work out except chest. I begin lifting with a weak chest so it was always sore so I couldn't go as hard the next time. M BCAA allowed me to be 100% every time!
My wife began working out a few days ago and she always said M BCAA stunk so she did not want to take it. She worked out with me doing arms and she was very sore (she is not used to lifting). I gave her 2 scoops of M BCAA and told her to call me in the morning. BAM!!! Now I know how Jesus did it.
Mixability: 7
This is where people always complain and even a friend of mine kept nagging me about it since I recommended it. Yes, as soon as you throw the powder in it does not mix the way you would hope. I realized that it needs to sit a little.
So I would throw the powder in, not really shake it but turned my cup upside down a few times to let it spread out and I just let it sit while I warmed up. Done! It looked like water after that.
Taste: 5
I got the white blue raspberry flavor. Not the best. It taste nothing like berry but more like unsweeten lemonade. If you really care, you will not enjoy it much, but I really do not care about taste. If it gives me the recovery I need, I am happy with that.
Afterthoughts:
Great amino acid ratio. Taste not so great, but great amazing recovery. I have a tub of Body Mortar and Xtend so I will not use M BCAA for a little while. I think it will just make me miss it more.
Recommendations:
Absolutely! If you are not picky about taste at all. You will love it.

| BCAA stands for Branched Chain Amino Acids, so BCAA are amino acids. That is what an intra workout consists of. The BCAA's are leucine, isoleucine and valine. These are the most important amino acids to repair and build muscle. Modern BCAA was amazing in terms of recovery, but Xtend is great as well and has more flavor. If you have any other questions, don't be afraid to ask. Good luck. |

Effectiveness: (9/10): Helps reduce fatigue and greatly helps in recovery. Very rarely was I noticeably sore while taking this product.
Mixability: (6/10): Foams in mixer, without a mixer forget about it.
Taste: (9/10): Great taste, blue raspberry is Gatorade-esq.
Value: (5/10): Expensive for an intra workout BCAA product. Although i do like the Modern BCAA product, its a little too pricy for me to buy again for the worth.

Yes third review of the week for me most i've put up in a week i think, anyway this is a great product here's why.
This is the first intra workout supplement i have used and i believe that this is more effective then most pre workouts that are loaded with caffeine and 1,3 dimeth. I basically use this as a pre workout/intra workout as i drink a little prior to lifting then all the way till the end of my workout to stay anabolic.
Taste: Grape bubblegum was alright but i think i liked the taste of white rasberry more. I do not advise getting the unflavored version at first i drank it by itself like an idiot bad decision but bared with it. I am going to try mixing it with orange Pure Karbolyn next to see if it can mask the horrible taste because crystal light pure fitness isn't doing it for me. It really doesn't matter anyway as taste is the last thing i care about how it works for me.
Value: i got all three during the inner circle deal which made it very cheap for all three and i believe this product is valuable as it keeps the body anabolic when you are tearing muscle fibers and some people and research shows intra workout supplementation might be crucial for strength and gains.
Effectiveness: I like to have this for my deadlift and squat days as those are the major excersises that cause me to exert the most energy and tear more muscle fibers. It's not E-BOL like in recovery but it makes a difference as i forgot to take it yesterday for my deadlifts and my back was shot today. Just make sure to sip and not chug so it will last the entire workout.
Other thoughts: Since this is the first BCAA product it's my favorite thus far but i would like to try Xtend because everyone raves about it. The 8:1:1 ratio is going to keep me coming back to M BCAA though. If you really care about taste more than effectiveness this might not be for you but it does wonders for recovery and helping to stay anabolic during your workouts. Forgot to mention i didn't like how it foamed up no matter what i did and when i got to the end it was mostly foam which was hard to get down.
Final thought: Great BCAA intra workout can't wait to pair this with Pure Karbolyn for rapid recovery.
Hope this was helpful and any questions PM me always willing to help.

@blizzard- haha personally i wouldn't drop it, i think it's better after a while of cycling off stims you'll realize that you don't need caffeine to get through your workouts and what's more beneficial then bcaa's. I hate foam but what can ya do? haha

Ok this was the first BCAA I ever bought. I did a tun of research and We have been through 3 tub's so far. Its time for a review.
Value-9/10 I got this at the on base GNC for about $25. I looked around online and the price was about the same. The tub is 35 servings which works out to about about $.69 per serving. Not bad IMO.
Recovery-9/10 I have to say 9 instead of 10 because Ive never tried any other type of BCAA but its gotta be hard to top the 8:1:1 ratio. But I can say that it does its job. I am hardly ever sore the next day.(I do take other recovery sup's also so this stacked with them does an amazing job)
Mixability-7/10 Heres the downfall IMO. It takes a few minutes to get the foam to go away. If you shake it instead of slowly turning the shaker over a couple times it wont mix as well.
Taste-8/10 Some say they didnt like the taste. But the Grape Bubblegum actually got better after I got halfway into the first tub. Now I enjoy it.
I would absolutely recommend this as an intra-WO drink. Bewteen the price and recovery it cant get much better than this...

This is a product that I actually thought that I've already reviewed but it seems that I haven't so here it is.
USP Labs Modern BCAA "Incredibly Refreshing"
-First off, I purchased this product on recommendation of many SupplementReview members. On to the actual review.
-Taste-(9/10): None of us buy supplements for the taste but I have to admit the White Blue Rasperry tasted pretty good. The only intra I have to compare to is Purple Wraath and it beats that in taste. Only downside is that it had a wierd after taste and smell.
-Endurance-(6/10): I now know that Modern BCAA isn't actually for endurance but more for recovery. I really don't understand why these Intra BCAA products don't just include some EAA's, it'd improve the product by 100%. I'm a huge fan of EAA's and don't understand why most companies don't include them in their Intra Supplements. This product isn't near as great as Purple Wraath was when it comes to endurance.
- Recovery-(10/10): This is where Modern BCAA really stood out to me. The recovery with this was second to none. I'd still get sore after a heavy leg day but it wasn't near as bad as without Modern BCAA. Usually I'd be sore for many days after wards but this cut it down to 1-2 days.
-Ingredient Profile-(8/10): Modern BCAA has a pretty impressive and new ingredient profile. It's the first BCAA supplement I've ever seen that has a 8:1:1 Ration and used mTOR pathway. I like the inclusion of sustamine, I feel it's far superior to normal L-Glutamine. The one thing I HATE about Modern BCAA as well as most products on the market today is the proprietary blend. I mean sure, Modern BCAA has very few ingredients but all of them are in a proprietary blend of 10 grams. I just wish I knew how much of each ingredient I was getting so I'd know if I needed one serving, one and a half servings, or two servings. I'd throw 2 servings in my water bottle and start sipping 20 minutes pre-workout and finish post-workout. I'm not a big fan of drinking a lot during my workout.
Would I Buy Modern BCAA Again?
More then likely NO! Just because it doesn't have the EAA's that I'm a big fan of. I feel Purple Wraath and Animal Nitro are both superior to Modern BCAA just because they both have all the EAA's. There's a small possibility that I'd buy Modern BCAA and stack it with either Purple Wraath or Animal Nitro just for the extra BCAA's if I had some extra cash on me. This would be a staple of mine if they'd include some EAA's and some Beta Alanine/Citruline Malate.
Key Pros of Modern BCAA:
*Great Price ( AllStarHealth.com)
*Great Taste (Blue White Rasperry)
* Recovery is second to none.
*Uses mTOR pathway.
*Great new 8:1:1 BCAA Ratio.
*Sustamine over basic L-Glutamine.
*Mixing is out-standing.
*Minimal ingredients.
*No dyes or fillers.
Key Cons:
*Wierd after-taste.
*Doesn't include the other EAA's.
*Proprietary blend.
*Isn't as good as Animal Nitro or Purple Wraath.
*Overall*
I'd recommend this only if your looking for added recovery. Not great for endurance like Nitro or Wraath.
Peace, Kubz

| Solid review. Interesting that you found the taste of MBCAA to be better than Purple Wraath. I ran a tub of MBCAA and had a sample pouch of PW and I thought PW blew MBCAA out of the water in terms of taste. Could be because you were mixing two servings of MBCAA. I always thought one serving was way too watered down in 16-20 oz. |

To start, this is my third intra workout drink, first two being wraath and Xtend. Also doing Yok3d, kre-alklyn 1500 and jack3d as a preworkout, and pretty generic protein as post until I can pick up my preferred.
Effectiveness 10/10
Usually I wait to talk about effectiveness, but I am so pleased, this comes first. As background, I have been training supp free for about a year and a half. Getting back in I started with jack3d, Yok3d and krealk, and they hit me pretty hard. My first couple of workouts were INSANE. Something about that trinity really hit me well and had me upping almost every lift by 20-30 pounds. First workout. Needless to say, my arms felt like they were gonna fall off. Enter modern BCAA, which fixed the problem completely. Went from crippling soreness to that average sore you get after a good workout. For that, I will love it forever. Recovery was wonderful.
Taste 8/10
I don't get the problems people have with it. I have white blue raspberry, and its good. I enjoy sipping it, I get disaapppointed when I finish the bottle. Yeah, its not watermelon Xtend, but come on people, grow up. What do you want, the best product on the market, or the tastiest? Be professional. Get over the hump, learn to love it.
Mixability 6/10
its Aminos, which always suck. The foam gets pretty crazy. Just pour it with your preworkout, then lightly shake the bottle until you get out on the floor. By then, it'll be completely dissolved. Also, cold water makes it much worse.
Value 7.5/10
nothing remarkable. Its a great product, well worth the price. Get it online, or during a sale.
Overall 10/10
Why do I give it a perfect score with all the numbers below 10? A review is more than re sum of its parts. This product does its job amazingly, better than the others i've tried. Get it. It will change your workout, or more importantly, the day after.

So just recently, i finished my 2nd bottle of Modern BCAA's. I love this stuff. The "Grape Bubblegum" flavor is my favorite. To me, the refreshing taste is kind of similar to that of drinking Crystal Light, but way better tasting at first. However, it does have a little bit of an "intriguing" aftertaste, but then again, so do some other intra-workout supps. So it came to me as no surprise. As far as mixing goes, it is a little tricky, given that you have to wait a little while for the foam to settle. While i was taking this supp during my workouts, i felt like i could last the whole day in the gym. The only soreness i felt was that "pump" that i get after my last rep on my last set. Other than that, i still maintained that anabolic feeling during my training session. The price i paid for was well worth it.

I noticed alot of resentment for Pink Magic and the entire Asteroid Stak in general; but I gotta hand it to USP Labs, not only do they rock the pre-workout category, they now gave me the best intra-workout supplement.
Effectiveness: I gotta hand it to them, this is the best intra-workout on the market. USP Labs really did the research. This product has a great bcca profile (8-1-1). So, I guess that means for every 8 grams of luecine, there are 1 gram of valine and a gram of isoluecine. There is also an advanced form of glutamine (sustamine) that is worked into this product. You definitly feel your muscles getting fuller during your workout. When im not taking a BCAA formula during my workouts, my muscles feel deflated. Not with this product, I felt like I was repairing them even while I was working them out.
Value: It is kind of expensive, I mean sometimes I like more than 2 scoops during my workout so I can finish this tub in three weeks easily. I paid a little more than $30 and the only reason I got it so cheap was because my friend owns his own shop and I got a deal on it. I'd rather pay more for the quality though than settle for something else (although, I am a fan of Xtend too).
If Modern BCAA added citruline malate to their product (which Xtend has) that would make this product a 10 in my book. Still, probably the best intra-workout and definitly a dietary staple for those cutting weight/fat and/or are on a low-calorie diet. Your muscles need BCAA's, and if your not getting the recommended amount of protein or overall calories in your diet, this product is a must.
