This is my first review on here (just found this site). I have been taking Nectar off and on for over two years now and I really don't have a bad thing to say about it. I like that it mixes really well, can be mixed with water, and that they give you a lot of options on flavors. My favorites are Fuzzy Navel, Latte Cappuccino, Chocolate Truffle, and Double Stuffed Cookie. It is a little more expensive so I can't buy all the time but every time I do I really enjoy it. I would definitely recommend trying it out.

Well i have to say that Syntrax Nectar is a very unique protein for anyone who has been around the block. they are some of the best tasting (and unique) flavors around. It is a 100% Whey isolate with 0 carbs and 0 fat. It is fruit juice flavored (and some others) and very thin. You can hardly tell your drinking a protein which is a plus because i like to sip it intra workout and its not heavy at all.
The value is pretty good considering its an isolate, but i usually buy concentrate which is cheaper. I can deal with the lactose but if you cant this is lactose free.
Its around 25 dollars for 36 scoops at 34 grams of protein each so its not bad at all for an isolate
As for flavors, all of them are really good, I made all of them with 8 oz of water and some ice cubes. They taste like what they say they will and dont have a diet aftertaste which is nice. They do foam alot if you shake them but about 5 minutes of settling and they are fine. i have tried 13 flavors because of a variety pack i bought and here are my ratings.
Apple Ecstasy: 10/10, tasted just like a green apple air head. not very sour but nice and sweet.
Caribbean Cooler: 7/10. This was good but i just dont like coconut. It tastes like a pina coolada which im not a huge fan of.
Crystal Sky: 7/10 I thought this would be the best, it is like a tropical punch but its very heavy on the pineapple and i thought it was too tangy.
Fuzzy Navel: 9/10 This was a peach orange blend that tasted alot like tang with a little peach in it. it was very good
Lemon Tea: 8/10 I thought this would be gross but it actually tasted like lemon tea. for anyone who likes arnold palmer it comes very close to that.
Pink Grapefruit: 9/10 It tastes just like what you would think, it was very good and very refreshing
Roadside Lemonade: 7/10 This did not taste like lemonade! it tasted like lemon meraunge(?) pie, but it was good if you dont think about it as lemonade
Strawberry Kiwi: 10/10 this was one of my favorites. it was mostly strawberry but it was still really good
Twisted Cherry: 8/10 This was good if you like cherry, it was a little artificial tasting but im not a huge cherry guy.
Cappuccino: 10/10 WOW this was really good. it tasted just like a dunkin donuts frappaccino.
Chocolate truffle: 7/10 It was an average chocolate, a little too sweet for my taste
Vanilla Torte: 10/10 Second best Vanilla ever, to Muscle Milk but at 1/3 the calories. Amazing
Strawberry truffle: 8/10 it was a good creamy, sweet strawberry. tasted like strawberry shortcakes
All in all this is an awesome isolate for the price, and the unique flavors are all really good. i would recommend to anyone.

I tried Carribean Cooler and Twisted Cherry. The taste of the Cherry was similar to Body Fortress' NO Blast; a real chemical artificial taste. The Carribean Cooler was a little more pleasant but still too artificial in taste for my liking. I also came to question about how effective this protein was since I did have a little gas and my gains were little to none during a bulk cycle; was pretty perplexed in fact given the 23g/27g protein/dose ratio. Coming off the use of Pro5 it was definitely not the same quality. This stuff CAN NOT be shaken using a shaker cup without HEAVY foam build up; others foam up but not that bad. I currently use bulk unflavored whey from a local whole foods store and feel what i currently use is a better product. Good if you really hate the taste of milk, I know many do. If you want something sweet give unflavored whey (really does have flavor, WHEY!), spoon of cocoa and sweetner of your choice a try or keep cycling proteins until you find something you like and works for you.

| So this product did not assist you on your goals.. What did it yeild as a result? I would also claim that it is peculiar or "perplexing" the lack of results due to the isolate form of protein that it is... Interested to hear back from yourself... |

| Reading your review I don't understand why you call concentrate or blend "garbage". I was on a CKD and put on A LOT of muscle. I dropped 45-50lbs of fat an gained a good 22-25lbs of muscle (been injured for a few years). I ran out of PRO5 and I like to swap things out to see how changing ONE thing a time works. I stopped gaining, diet was the same, supplements same. The gains stopped, but dropped a couple more pounds. Stuff can get pricey on a cut or a bulk imo. A few products out there for people who are lactose intolerant, Cytosport is cheap, probably going to try it next since it is pretty cheap. Studies/Journals have shown how beneficial blends are; PRO5 is a blend and worked really well. I can tell the difference. I liked Dyamtize ISO100, especially taste and mixability; compared to the Nectar. Going to starting using the whey pwo and use a blend post workout; although the blend 3x a day worked really well. Moral, don't just look and see if its "isolate" or not. |

| Lets discuss reconstructn, So you in are in favor of a concentrate blend of protein? You lost 45-50 lbs of fat... due to the protein? You gained another 22-25 lbs ..due to the protein? In my experienced opinion, protein did not yeild these results alone, appears that you were on an entire "reconstructn" regiment. Researched your protein of choice ( next).. Protein ingredients ( first three) are concentrate, isolate, then egg albumin.. The issue with a concentrate blend is that it is listed first on the ingredients. I believe that you know that the first listed ingredient is the most contained, so it is uncertain to how much of the other products will be ingested into your system. Could be an significant amount or a "trace" amount...
Now.. Lets discuss concentrate protein..
By volume, they yeild 60-70 percent protein by weight. The fact that the concentrations process also concentrates fats, cholesterol and lactose is a concern ( small ) for myself.
Isolate protein, yeilds almost everything but the protein to be eliminated, yeilds 90-95 percent protein by weight. Minimal fat, fiber, carbohydrates and phytochemicals remain.
Honestly, you would want more protein for your finances as well as bioavailibility..
another concern with your new decision in protein... There are directions for children toddlers and early teenagers on the nutritional value label to ingest this protein. I am not into consuming Gerber food and my extensive training would have me trying to consume he adequate supplement for the most beneficial gains. I would rather prefer a warning that states "18 and older only"
I urge you to not go by price of a product.. Because it is cheap, doesnt mean that it will truly assist you.. You need to remember that these supplements are not FDA regulated... Show some caution...

| ...note ... phytochemicals can yeild positve results in health system of a person.. It is not entirely a good thing that in the isolate form they are held to a minimal status but a well balanced diet will be able to even this factor out... we are speaking of a protein supplement, not an entire diet..

| Truth, think this is the wrong area to discuss. Blend vs Isolate vs Hydrolyzed..might want to start a topic in the forum section. I think anyone who uses protein and uses the forums on the internet are fairly acquainted with what constitutes a blend, isolate, etc. There are also reason why you would want to pick one or a combination of them. Like, Casein being more thoroughly absorbed. Just because we consume it, doesnt mean our bodies use it.
Also, I'm a pretty "educated" person. I research exhaustively about what I consume; my personal library is pretty large. I also mentioned the only thing i changed in my diet was the protein, being a scientific person (naturally and via education), I only remove/swap one component/factor at a time. My diet was the main reason I lost weight, but I do attribute much of my gains to the quality and type of protein I was consuming. I keep things simple and was not impressed by this product. We can say not to go by cost, but the "value" rating is there for a reason. If cost wasnt an issue everyone would use high-DH hydrolyzed whey protein; but we don't, but great for kids with colic. Although pricing is coming down. Still a long way from the awful stuff I use to consume in HS in the early 90s, just better stuff out there in taste and value
Again, topic that has been discussed, but would be happy to discuss it in the forum or in a PM.

Excellent protein for those whom do not like to mix their protein with a milk based solvent, beautiful crisp h2o will suffice here. I tend to use this product when I am trying to cut fat.. The other variable here is that many African Americans ? Native Americans and the children of their decent can not digest the lactase which is found in milk based products. oddly enought, I have this problem at times but with this protein this is an easy fix. There is another protein that I use which will be reviewed at a later time, for respect for this high grade protein, I will not list it here.
First and foremost, this is not a Garbage (subjective0 propreitary blend or a concentrate. This is an isolate form of whey, which is di tri peptides isolated from concentrate.
The taste of this product is over exceptional. I have tried a laundry list of flavors... Roadside lemonade, Caribbean Cooler, Crystal Sky, Strawberry Kiwi, and Twisted Cherry.
This will not receive a full 10 rating due to it not being a hydrolsolate form of protein.
This is an excellent product that should be enjoyed by those whom are able to afford such a protein supplement. Truthfully stating.. you will not be disappointed.
Those of the fitness community who are looking for additives and other muscle building items/ supplements in their protein, this will not be at the top of your to purchase list but if a higher quality protein is all that is being sought after, Nectar by Syntrax and their many flavors will suffice... refreshing product and a laudable alternative to the mundane protein category.

| Well, lactase is the needed enzyme for the digestion of the milk product.. It is the needed enzyme that is responsible for the digestion of lactose ( which is contained in milk) ... Small biology and chemistry lesson for those on the site... But any reply for the review kamotekid? or was the purpose otherwise...? |

This is my first reveiw on here. I took this product after my lifts. Started using one scoop, since it was so expensive but then I bumped it up to two scoops. Nectar was easy on the stomach and tasted amazing, fuzzy navel. I look forward to trying more flavors.
Taste- 10 this was one of the best proteins I have ever had ( better than MyoFusion and Muscle Milk). I went through a 2lbs tub of fuzzy navel and it tasted amazing the whole way through. I looked forward to drinking this after every lift.
Mixability- 8 I mixed this in a shaker and had a fee clumps in it, but on a positive note the clumps tasted amazing. There was some foaming when using a shaker.
Price- 8. I wish this product was a little cheaper, but I guess you gotta pay a little more for quality products. It would also be nice if this came in a 5lb tub as well.
Effectiveness-9. My recovery while on this product was normal, nothing that stood out from other proteins. It was a great product overal and def my new post workout protein.

Ive tried chocolate and the vanilla nut toffee flavors.. they both tastes great, about as good as Muscle Milk. Ive made pretty decent gains while taking this. Nectar mixes really well without clumping and it's low in carbs and fat. It can be pricey some places so shop around.. maybe A1Supplements or sometimes vitaminshoppe has it on sale.

I went through a couple of tubs of this a while back ,and I really liked it. I thought the way it mixed was a little weird so I mixed a scoop of the roadside lemonade with a scoop of lemonlime gatorade and creatine mono for post workout and it worked great. It is for sure a proteine I'll rotate back to again in the future.

This is very much a niche product for me. If you need 23 g of protein fast, with no fat and no carbs, it fits the bill. Other advantages: you do not need a lot of water and it tastes OK with water. Disadvantages: it foams quite a bit and ALL the flavors are a bit weird. (I've sampled all 11.) Bottom line: my protein shake should be something of a "treat". Syntrax Nectar is not. No way is it a substitute for Syntha6, Myofusion or Monster Milk.
