I took this along with the
Optimum Casein I just wrote a review for. I took this a while back and I believe they're changed formulas since, but when I took this I had no problems with it. The taste was pretty good actually, and it mixed just fine. Not to mention the price tag was great. When I bought it, it had 23 servings and it was only about $20 bucks at
Vitamin Shoppe. Back then, I was soely focused on
Protein, and since this had 25g a serving, I was all for it. In hindsight, I can find some issues with this product. The price tag is a big red flag to question the quality of this product, and I can safely say there are better quality
Proteins out there for nearly the same price.
Six Star also took the "kitchen sink" approach and added just about every ingredient under the sun to this
Protein. Back then, I thought "hey great, I'm getting all this stuff too". But now I can tell that all of those added supplements are severely underdosed as well as being low quality. When 50-some ot ingredients add up to about 9 grams in a "proprietary blend", we have a problem on our hands here. It also has aspartame, my sworn enemy. I try to monitor my aspartame intake pretty strictly, and I may seem like a hipocrate because I'm currently taking Nitric Shock that has, yep you guessed it, Aspartame in it. But to be fair I'm only taking the Shock because my mom bought it and brought it home for me when my
Assault ran out, and I'm not just going to deny a free $40
preworkout supp when I just ran out of my other one. ANYWAYS, due to the aspartame and the quality, I can't really recommend this to anyone. And I can't even go as far as saying "get it for your wallet's sake" because to be honest,
Optimum 100% Whey is only a buck or 2 more at the most. This may seem contradictory to my decent rating, but in hindsight I can see my mistake in buying this supplement. However, I did see some muscle growth while taking this, but I acredit most of that to first starting a weight lifting routine and my subtle diet changes to add more
Protein when possible. I do believe the
Protein itself in the product helped, but the "prop blend" didn't, and a better
Protein would've been even better. But back then, I feel to the marketing gimmics of our good friends at Muscle Tech! I've learned my lesson!
