Recommended After strenuous work outs I began to get bronchitis. I read that glutamine was vital to the immune system and that intense training will overwhelm the body's ability to produce it. I also read that a side effect of normal glutamine supplements is ammonia build up. If the glutamine is formed in the AKG substrate, then there is no ammonia buildup. I have not been sick since taking AKG glutamine, even when other people in the office were dropping like flies.

NOT Recommended I decided to get this product as Sci Fit was offering a buy one get one free with this product along with the BCAA-LYNN 1500. My great experience with Sci Fit's Gluta-Lyn 1500 made my want to try both as I had such a good experience with Gluta-lyn that I reviewed it and gave it all 10's.

Despite having high hopes for the product, I came away disappointed. Upon stopping Gluta-lyn and starting this, I immediately noticed more soreness and less strength going into my next workouts.

Sci Fit claims that both this product and the Gluta-Lyn 1500 have 5x the effect meaning that 1g of either product would be equivalent to 5g of normal glutamine. With the Gluta-lyn I believe the claim, with this, I simply felt like 1g of this is equivalent to 1g of normal glutamine.

Its hard to give any glutamine product a low score since I believe that Glut is one of the best recovery products out there. This was affirmed by me stopping this product and going without any glutamine for about a week in which the soreness went up even more. So yes, this product does work, but in my opinion only as well as any other ordinary glutamine product. This wouldn't be such a bad thing, but it is pricier per serving than a normal glut product. It is also the same price as their gluta-lyn which is in my opinion the far superior recovery product.

It is possible that I could have gotten a "bad batch," but for my money I'm going back to Gluta-lyn.
