Description
Pro Complex is a blended protein supplement made by Optimum Nutrition. It contains 60g of protein per serving with half being whey and the other half being egg ambulin. This creates a blend of both fast and medium digested proteins as well as having an off the charts BCAA profile and even added glutamine for recovery.

The only downside is the price tag, but anyone that has used this product will tell you that it is definitely worth the investment.

Recommended In my opinion Optimums Pro Complex is the best overall protein available. Lets face it there is alot of low quality and over priced proteins on the market so why not spend a little more and get the absolute best! The two main sources of proteins in Pro Complex are whey and egg albumen witch makes it very versatile. You can basically use it anytime you want, mourning, in between meals, pre-workout or post-workout. Pro Complex also has the most impressive amino acid profiles I have seen. Two scoops contain 60g of high quality protein, 1g of fat, 3g of carbs, 1g of sugar, 14g of BCAA's, 10g of glutamine and a good blend of very important vitamins and essential minerals! Pro Complex is also great for those who watch their carb intake cause it only contains 3 net carbs.

-Effectiveness 10/10: Pro Complex leads the way in Building new lean muscle and assists in recovery due to the fact of its amazing profile! You can definitely tell it's helping your body recover from those hard workouts.

-Taste 9/10: I've only tried the rich milk chocolate. Mixed with water it tastes kinda dull, if you like a sweetier taste just use less water. Personally I mix it with hoods low-carb milk giving it 8 more grams of protein and a creamier more satisfying taste.

-Mixability 10/10: Mixes perfect with either water or milk in a shaker cup. Never had any problems with clumping yet.

-Value 9/10: Yes, everybody knows Pro Complex is priced on the high side but bottom line you get what you pay for. At least for me I want results and quality so I have know problem with paying a few bucks more for this protein....trust me its worth it!

Pro complex will not disappoint you! Like I stated before the profile is second to none. I will continue to use this protein and I highly recommend this to everyone.
Pros:
Cons:
  • Great Recovery
  • Builds Muscle
  • Good Taste
  • Good Value
  • Low Carb For Ckd
  • Instantized Protein For Easy Mixing
  • Low Sugar
  • Expensive...but Not Over-priced.

I can name two protein brands that are just as good as pro Complex and less exspensive. The first is Syntha-6 by bsn. Almost every Syntha-6 flavor is deliscious (Moccachino is the most unique tasting protein I've ever had). Second is the new Elite Fusion 7 by Dymatize. These blended proteins are on par with Pro Complex in every 'whey,' minus the outrageous price.

I'm going to have to disagree with you kineticpen. Syntha-6 is not in the same class a pro complex. Reason being look at both profiles....not even close. Syntha-6 has more fat, carbs, cholesterol and far less protein per serving than pro complex. Like I said you get what you pay for!

Great review. Wish I saw it before I got my Dymatize elite 7 5 lb tub :\ Gonna be a while before i can try this now...curious as to why two scoops at one time...do you actually synthesize all that or is it best to do one scoop with 1% milk? I have seen discussions saying g30 grams per serving is usually the most your actually absorb. Thoughts on that please?

Your partially correct. On average your body can usually only absorb 30g of protein AT ONCE. Pro Complex is a PROTEIN BLEND(isolates, concentrates, and hydro) that contains slow, med, and fast absorbing proteins. So your body isn't getting access to all that protein at once. That's why they recommend 2 scoops, because they are different time releasing proteins.

Okay, So you have me sold on this product. Do you recommend taking anything else with it? Ive recently gotten into the lifting and have been going strong for 3 months. I hit the gym 6 days a week and lift about twice a day most days. I have yet to really put on any size or gain any significant strength talking maybe 10 pounds to my bench, and its fairly discouraging. Currently I am taking C4, the GNC Amplified Wheybolic 60, and kre-akalyn. Im also eating 6 clean meals a day.

Recommended I recently made the switch to this protein after i could no longer afford the price you pay for GNC's AMP wheybolic. I wanted something that came really close in aminos to that that also was low in carbs, calories, and sugar and hopefully at least had a Protein Isolate in it. I went through a tub of this my Sr year of highschool since my friend at GNC sold me a close dated one (4.6 lbs) for 24 bucks and i liked the recovery, taste, and nutritional background of this protein. Safe to say, this is the Easiest mixing protein i have ever had. 10 seconds with a blender bottle and it's complete liquid. The BCAA content is pretty close to AMP wheybolic and it has a great protein blend including whey islolate and egg albumen. It also has a good source of vitamins in it (as any protein supplement should). This is my second tub of the Rocky Road flavor and it's delicious but i think im gonna give another flavor a try next buy. Serving size is 2 scoops for 60 grams of protein but my body can only break down about 40 grams every couple hours so i take a scoop and 1/3 of a scoop post workout, emergency meal replacements, and 1 scoop first thing in the morning on days after a super intense workout. Got 4.6 lbs for a little over $40 on supplementwarehouse.com. You simply cannot go wrong with Pro Complex.

  • Low Carb For Ckd
  • Builds Muscle
  • Good Strength Gains

Nice and detailed review bro. I am currently stacking 100% whey protein, glyco-maize and casein. After my workout I drink 2 scoop whey, 2 scoop glyco-maize and 1 casein(my casein is for when I'm sleeping but I just stacck it after workout also to get a pro-complex kind effect lol). I would like to know if I could replace my casein and whey with the pro complex. I've heard the pro-complex is awesome I'm just not sure if it can replace my casein at night? any advice/tips on that?

and if you need a little cheaper place you can check ebay or vitamin shoppe and also amazing prices vary depending on what your looking for.

But It's hard to get a bad flavor with ON man. They make such delicious flavors with high quality. I'm willing to bet the strawberry is pretty tasty as well. Either way, you got a steal my friend.

Recommended I used one large tub of Rocky Road Pro Complex and the results were great.
My strength increased and it was reassuring to know I was getting plentiful amounts of protein well after I had my shake because of the time released formula.
It has a phenomenal amino acid profile and my only wish would be that it contained some kind of casein protein but as of now, this is the most superior quality protein available to me under my budget. This brings to mention the cost, which is slightly higher than comparable proteins but still manageable if you prioritize it according to its importance and value in quality.
I would recommend this protein as a MRP and a post workout shake.
Its carbohydrate amount is also very low if you happen to be on a CKD diet.

Hey man, first off I appreciate your reply on my question about the Opti-Men. I feel a loooott better knowing everything is cool with that little situation. haha ,but I just had a question about this Protein. I was doin some research about it and I was very impressed with the profile. I am taking MyoFusion right now and before I took BSN Syntha 6. I take the MyoFusion throughout the day, and before bed. I think I'm going to try this out after the MyoFusion, but do you think I should get a different Protein for before bed?? or will the Pro-complex be ok.

This would be a good replacement for MyoFusion since this has more usable Protein per serving and a better amino acid profile.
I would not use this before bed. I use Optimums 100% Casein Protein, supreme chocolate flavor.
It costs a lot when you look at purchasing both Proteins but they will last you much longer than one MyoFusion.

Recommended Just about done with a 5lb jug of this stuff, and so far its lived up to the hype. i take 2 scoops with breakfast and 2 scoops post-workout to get the most out of it, but unfortunately it doesnt last very long. the recovery is great. i workout in the middle of the day during the semester, so i cant exactly be dragging ass into class when tuition keeps goin up. the strength gains i've gotten are good, almost all my stats went up across the board. the one con i have is the flavour. dont buy "rich milk chocolate shake" cuz its utter crap. always mix with milk to atleast make it bearable. the complex it has is great, & all those BCAAs and other stuff make it worth yer while...which is good considering the price. luckily a Vitamin Shoppe opened up by me, so their running a huge grand opening sale. i was able to get it at $49.99 with the sale and mebership discount...but be forewarned regular price pushes $100 for the 5lb jug...all in all i'll agree with everyone else and say it is possibly the best protein blend out there, and you most definitely get what you pay for.

Recommended Definitely the best protein powder I've used. Loaded with protein from multiple sources but most of all it has hydrowhey which is best for post-workout recovery. Minimal carbs and sugars and doesn't leave you bloated or so full that you can't have a real food meal shortly after. Best ON product.

Recommended This is another great product from ON. I loved almost every bit of it...

Taste- 8.0--- I probably made the mistake here. I usually only use Chocolate when it comes to my protein, but i decided to go with vinella. It was alright, but it had a salty taste to it??? I didn't really like it, and i got it with water and milk, but i just quickly downed it and didn't worry about it.

Effectivness- 9.1--- i thought PC did it's job. I used it as a afternoon snack while on my cut, and i was very pleased with it. I can't regard any strength gains to this, but i can say i noticed a difference in recovery while taking it. If i took it one day, the next morning i would feel great, but if i didn't, the next morning i could tell.

Value- 7.5--- This product is marked at a fairly high price. At my GNC, the regular price for the 4.6 lb container, no sale, no Gold Card, is $102.00... Thats pretty freakin outrageous... I got lucky and caught it marked down half price to $61.00 and also it was gold card week. There is a total of 28 servings in a 4.6 lb container, but that is with 2 scoops, which is equivilant to 60 G of Protein. I only used one scoop, and got a total of 58 scoops out of my container.

Overall i was relativly happy with Pro Complex. I will use it again, when i can find it marked down, and in chocolate..
Good Luck!

Recommended I had previously used Dymatize ISO-100, but unfortunately, it didn't suit my goals. I lost quite a bit of size, and whilst some other factors influenced this, I really needed to get 'back on track' in terms of developing some good lean muscle. I had wanted to try Pro Complex for months, but it's fairly expensive. Anyway, I decided to give it a try, and I am EXTREMELY glad that I did.

It has a very impressive ingredient profile for a blend, which got my initial interest. 60g protein, 8 different sources of protein and a REALLY good BCAA profile.

Taste: 7/10
I ordered the Chocolate flavour, and whilst it wasn't the best I have tried to date, it was good enough. With water, it can be a little bland and sort of has a strange aftertaste. Not bad, but it was noticeable for me. When mixed with milk, it tasted a LOT better -- hence my 7/10. It went down a lot smoother, and tasted a lot creamier. It also eliminatd that aftertaste a bit. Taste isn't always the most important thing to me, but Pro Complex passes, so that's a plus.

Mixing: 9/10
Never had any problems with mixing. Works really well with both water and milk.

Effectiveness: 9.5/10
Maybe I should just give this a 10, but I like to always try and leave some room for imrprovement. That's being a picky SOB though, because this delivered. My recovery was sensatioinal; better than any other product I've tried. I did acompany this with Xtend (and then Atomic 7 later on), so I got a solid dose of BCAA post workout. Having said that, I rarely felt sore the next day. I started working legs hard, and they held up pretty well the following day.

I got some really impressive gains from Pro Complex. As I said previously, I lost a fair bit. I worked really hard to get it back, and right now after finishing the tub, I'm in the best shape of my life. A lot of people have commented on the differences, and whilst a lot of that can be attributed to my diet and training, I won't undersell how good this product is. I couldn't be happier.

Value: 6/10
The only downfall, for mine. Again, because I live in Australia, this *** is just so over priced. Not much I can do about it living out this way, as supps in general are ridiculous in price.

Overall:
Best protein blend I have tried on every account by a LONG way. I liked Myofusion, but Pro Complex beats it. I will absolutely buy this product again, but because of the expenses, I'll cycle it. Perhaps buy it twice every 6 months, for example.

If price is not a problem, then really, I see no reason to NOT use this product. I took it mainly as a post work-out shake, but I did use it occasionally as a MRP. That's the good thing about this protein; it's just so versatile. You can use it whenever you want.

If you haven't tried it, or if you're thinking about trying it, get it.
Pros:
Cons:
  • Good Recovery
  • Good Strength Gains
  • Builds Muscle

Recommended best protein i've ever tried! can't say enough good about it. i convinced a buddy to switch to it who is really big into working out. he researches his products like crazy before he buys it. i let him bum some from me and he switched right away.

not necessarily the best immediate post workout out, go with platinum hydro for that, but as a meal replacement or snack or breakfast or bedtime snack, phenomenal! again can't say enough good things! can't wait til i'm out of my current protein (muscle pharm combat) so i can buy a new tub of pro complex!

only bad thing, it's a little pricey. but you get your money's worth!

Recommended This Pro Complex protein is the best protein on the market!! Ive tried numerous proteins, from great to the terrible, and there is my new go to protein. The combination of whey protein and egg albumen allows you to take this protein at pretty much anytime you want, morning, meal replacement, pre workout, post workout, or even at night.

Effectiveness: 10: With Pro Complex I was able to successfully build lean muscle and lose fat at the same time! I also noticed my recovery had improved tremendously with using this protein. This is all possible due to this great product profile

60 g protein
10 g glutamine
14 g BCAA
15 minerals & vitamins (resembles a multivitamin)

Taste 10: I received the vanilla flavor, and my oh my did i make a great choice. Id go as far to say this was the best tasting protein i have ever tried. The best part is it tastes amazing with water, and with milk you'd be sure it was an ice cream shake if you had blind folds!

any tips on next flavor?

Mixability:10: Mixed perfectly in any temperature in milk and water. Also when i lost my blender bottle, stirring this protein with a knife in a cup completely mixed the protein. Never had clumps.

Value 9: The only slight problem with this protein is how expensive it sells for, roughly 60 $. But i won't hesitate to pay that price again because this protein is 100 % worth the price. You get what you pay for. Also dont be turned off by the listed servings, you could easily take only one scoop and still get 30 g protein, 7 BCAA and 5 g glutamine, and the product will last much longer.

Favorite Protein. 100 % try this if you have yet to!
Pros:
Cons:
  • Amazing Taste
  • Great Profile
  • Strength Gains
  • Good Recovery
  • Builds Muscle
  • Instantized Protein For Easy Mixing
  • Expensive...but Not Over-priced.

I agree this is a good product, you should try Hydrowhey or Isoflex. Those are the only two proteins IMO that are better than this.

Recommended Great protein powder. A great lifting friend of mine swore by this stuff, and I loved the taste and thought it was a superior protein supp. One factor is the cost: if you are short on money I do not believe this product is worth the cost. Someone trying to get by would be WAY better off getting a cheap whey protein and cheap creatine, those two combined would probably give same if not better results than just Pro COmplex.

On the other hand, if the few extra bucks isn't an issue, then Pro Complex is definitely the "whey" to go : D Personally I stick with this brand's Gold Standard; I go through 10 pounds a month and would rather spend the extra bucks on chicken and beef.

Personally, I recommend Formula B from MyoEdge as my preworkout. I assisted with formulation and tested this product over and over the past year, and it has proven to me and the others involved to be a superior pre-workout. Amazing strength gains and the endurance is ridiculous. I take Formula B pre workout and Optimum Gold Standard (two vanilla servings in orange juice) afterwards.
