Another review,
Well it is difficult to review a multivitamin in the sense of effectiveness. Since you don't really "feel" the effects of it; however, certain things about the frat pack actually make you feel somewhat of a difference in your overall well-being feeling; nonetheless is does have some discomforts.
Effectiveness(7/10): I am going to be honest with you guys, I am not a multivitamin-type of guy. Although, I never forget to take most of my supps. I tend to leave the multis on the side and hardly ever take them. However, for the sake of the review I took this multivitamin every day.
The first couple of days I started taking this, I really was not feeling anything like energy, focus or recovery. However, as the days went by I started noticing much better energy throughout the day, nothing like feeling like a squirrel, but just feeling better - in mood and energy levels.
The whole focus thing is not really that noticeable, besides from the fact that you do feel better, there is no real change in the way I felt mentally. Other aspects like immune system enhancement are not really measurable because you have to get some blood work done for this and the ingredients for liver protection seem somewhat underdosed, even the milk thistle, which could just be herb powder with very little extract form..
Here is where the Frat Pack goes downhill. I don't know which one of the ingredients in this supplement has this side effect or maybe is just the combination of all them, but I could not stop burping with this. I constantly felt like I had to burp and they all smell like the frat pack. This was really uncomfortable, but once it subsides (about 3 hours in) you feel much better. I never felt this with any other multivitamin, this is a first for me.
Taste(4/10): I hate rating pills on taste because you are just supposed to swallow them, not chew on it, but this pills tasted horrible. It seems like they have no coating and they are dry as it can get. As soon as you put them in your mouth they stick to your tongue and the bitterness sets in and does not leave until you eat something acidic like grapefruit juice.
Dosage(6/10): 1 pack a day with a lot of pills, not extremes amounts like the animal pak, but still a lot. Especially if you are already taking other supps, this just make your stomach feel like a pharmacy.
Sides/Cons (5/10): The burping was pretty bad for a good couple of hours after taking it; it is a little ironic that it has a digestion complex, but it seems to do the opposite. Also, those damn pills are very hard to swallow. They are not coated with anything and they are very dry. They taste horrible and you can only chug them down with juice because water does not really make them smooth; it just helps them get disolved on your mouth which is a big NO NO. In addition, they need to fix the packing of the pills. They are very easy to open, but a little too easy. I would sometimes take a pack with to take later in the day, but they will always open in my bag, pants or jacket. I had a couple of the packets opened inside the container when I got it on the mail. Besides that, I had not side effects.
Value(5/10): It is not expensive at all and it does have for a month supply, but you cannot find it anywhere but amazon.com and their site which is priced at $29.99. Not really bad for a month supply, but you get the Animal Pak for 44 days for about $26.00.
Overall(5.4/10): I seriously don't think this is a horrible multivitamin, although it scores low, it is not because it doesn't work because it still needs more work on its delivery system, packaging and perhaps ratio of ingredients or ingredients on their own. The Frat Pack does give you energy and it makes you feel much better, but I seriously hate how hard it is to swallow those damn pills. I usually take them on a empty stomach in the morning and the taste makes me wanna throw up. Pills should not be tasted by any means, the packaging needs to stay closed regardless of where its at and there is something in it that may cause digestion disturbance, they need to figure out what ingredient may be causing this.
NLA is a fairly new company and although their PWO seems like it left a really good impression on respectable members from SR, this multivitamin really felt short with me. They still need to work on a lot of things with this supplement. It is definitely not the supplement to use as the face for your comapany. At least in my opinion, even though it works decent, this multivitamin, at this moment is not worth it.
