Recommended Hello SR community, I found this protein while I was looking for a cheap, effective, and good tasting alternative to Hydro Whey and I think I’ve found it. I spend a lot of my time at work on SR.com and trolling sites for deals on supplements. What can I say, I’m an SR junkie.

I am pretty well known to be willing to buy and try out almost any supplement type there is, but when it comes to protein it just KILLS me to dump a whole lot of money into it. A while back Muscleandstrength.com had a sale on its Muscle Gauge Nutrition brand PURE ISOLATE 5lbs for $38. What a steal right? Heck even if it tasted bad the profile alone was enough to justify the price tag.

---Ingredients/Effectiveness (8.5/10)-------

Here is the ingredient profile for MGN’s PURE ISOLATE. The notable points are that 25grams out of 30 grams total per serving is protein, that’s 83.3% protein per scoop for a total of 110 calories per scoop and 76 scoops per container. It also contains approx 5.5 grams of BCAA’s per scoop. Also, if you look at the ingredients, all it contains is PURE WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE, flavoring, and sucralose.

Ingredients:
Pure Whey Protein Isolate, Natural And Artificial Flavor, Xanthan Gum, Sucralose

-------Taste (9/10)------

There are a buttload of flavors, the ones I tried were Rocky Road, Vanilla, Ice Cream Sandwich, Cinnamon Bun. All of these flavors were delicious and I would rank them all between 8/10-10/10.

--------Mixability (6.5/10)-------

The one weak point of this product is the mixability. I would add approximately 2 scoops to 16 oz of milk, give it a couple quick shakes, and the majority of the protein seemed hydrophobic and would float on top of the milk. At first this concerned me, but if you shake it and let it sit for a while it does mix pretty well after a few minutes and it doesn’t clump, just doesn’t mix well at first. But if you want it mixed thoroughly with no gritty texture you might want to let it sit for a while and/or put it through a blender.

--------Value (9/10)-------

I got the 5lb tub of this on sake for $38 dollars for 76 scoops. That’s exactly 0.50 a scoop. This product regularly goes for 44-45 dollars so still a pretty good value for Whey Protein Isolate.

-------Overall (9/10)-------

Overall, this is a very good substitution for Hydro Whey. I think it taste better overall, has a similar profile, and is much cheaper to buy. There are literally a dozen or so flavors to choose from and every one I’ve tried so far has been delicious. One thing to be careful of when looking to buy this product is that MGN also makes a product called American Isolate, it is NOT the same as the PURE ISOLATE, as Pure Isolate is a better quality protein containing only WPI. American Isolate is only $32 a tub, but contains both WPI and WPC.

Recommended I have been buying Muscle Gauge Isolate for about 6 months now and I can say that it is the best tasting protein that I have ever had!!! I have recently started mixing it with milk and it has tasted even better than i expected, I cannot get enough. The price of this protein beats all others too so you cannot beat that deal. I would recommend this protein to everyone!!

Recommended When I first got this product a few weeks ago, I was thinking Im just going to try this for a few weeks(got only 2lbs)and then try a different whey protein after. Well Im telling you, I want to get this again!

Mixability-8/10. I have the Tornado mixer from BB.com so it gets most of it mixed but the occasional clump.

Taste-9/10 Very good taste, it barely got old having 2 of them per day too. I had Cinnamon bun which just tasted exactly how it was supposed to.

Price-10/10 2Lbs(32 servings) for 19.99, best Whey Protein deal in the world!

Container-5/10 I like to have a nice container, which really doesnt mean anything but the container's label was a little crunched up and I hear MGN is a Chinese company so they obviously are getting the cheapest container. Also, since I got the smaller size, the powder only took up like 1/5 on the container..

Overall best Whey Protein I've tried so far

Recommended I would absolutely say this is by far the best tasting whey isolate product i have tried. Low on carbs, great taste, effect and definitely affordable. I have always enjoyed the taste and effectiveness of the American Whey and 100 whey but I might have to lean towards this product as of now. I recommend this to everyone one. Effective and affordable. Trust me. Visit muscleandstrength.com they have an extensive list of flavors which makes it so hard to choose from.

Recommended I recommend that everyone take a look at the profile of this protein. I decided on CAKE BATTER and VANILLA CARMEL for flavors and both are kind of bland-but I don't take supps for taste but rather results. It does taste and mix better with skim milk. It does tend to get foamy and I have had better mixing proteins. Like I first mentioned, the profile on this is great. As a Whey Protein ISOLATE it has 103 cals, 1 carb, and 25 grams of ISOLATE protein. Another bonus, this protein is sweetened with STEVIA =) It mixes well with foods, like cottage cheese and oatmeal, too. BB dot com has a buy two 2 lb tubs get 1 FREE deal right now. I am going to try other flavors, but that is 6 lbs of protein, 96 servings, for 36 bucks!! Give it a whirl.

Maybe Recommended Found this product on the protein finder on BodyBuilding.com in my efforts to keep up with some variety with protein. I ordered the two pound tub for $17.99 great deal, couldn't commit to a 5 pound on the first go around. I ordered the Cake Batter flavor as far as taste goes I would rate it an 8 out of 10. I've had better, but I've had a lot worse. What I really like about this product is it's a 100% isolate, low fat, low carb, low cholesterol, high protein. What I didn't like was the mixability. This stuff was pretty clumply leaving some sips with the great Cake Batter taste and others like watered down milk. No side effects, no gas, no bloat. Loved that aspect. I will order again this time the Ice Cream Sandwich.

I, too, ordered the cake batter flavor and I would have to agree with everything you said. It tastes good-just kind of bland. They have a great deal on BB dot com where you can buy two 2 lb tubs and get 1 FREE. That is 6 lbs. of protein, 96 servings, for 36 bucks!! I am going to try some different flavors, but for WHEY ISOLATE you cannot beat it.

Recommended This Protein is the absolute best tasting I have yet tried that also yields incredible results. It is low carb with a whey isolate with a bunch of amino acids that really helps muscle recovery. It doesn't mix very well, but with enough shaking it becomes a very nice drink. Again, I've only tried Ice cream sandwich, but it has tasted absolutely amazing.
Oh and did I mention it is one of the cheapest Proteins out there? a steal!

Recommended I am writing as a new user of protein products. I became interested in taking protein shakes to maintain the current weight I am (recently lost 15 lbs - 133 lbs to 118 lbs) and also to supplement my diet that consist largely or fruits and veggies. I am also a medical student so time and ease are of importance as well.
After using two other brands (Muscle Milk and a GNC brand) I almost stopped using protein because of the stomach upset it caused me. I decided my last attempt at using protein would be Muscle Gauge's chocolate Protein Isolate, and have not had any problems since. This product has been easy on my stomach and have used it with milk and water in shakes, but have also make Frappacino like drinks and put it in yogurt and other foods as well. This protein mixes well in the directed about of liquid (I found with the GNC product that the amount of liquid had to be increased quite a bit) and tastes great. In milk its even better then a tall glass of chocolate milk and adds flavor and filling protein to my yogurt (and in oatmeal!!).
My goal in using protein was weight maintenance and have found Muscle Gauge's product great because it is filling, tastes great, is easy, and has kept me from gaining any weight back without really trying. I do not take any other supplements but multivitamins.
Overall, I think this product is great for everyday people, not just fitness guru's and bodybuilders. I have turned many former Slim Fast lovers onto Muscle Gauge's protein as it tastes as good and is much MUCH more affordable.

Recommended Easily one of the best for the value. I've gone through a 10lb. ($65 shipped) of vanilla and am working on Cinnamon Bun. Awesome taste. Doesn't mix the best of all of the isolates I've used (ON always takes the cake), but I can't complain about the the flavorful magma at the bottom of my shaker/cup.
I take it along side a multivitamin and Fish Oils. An awesome simple and effective stack.
Awesome customer service and fast shipping.

Maybe Recommended Just finished off a 5lb jug of the icecream sandwich flavor. Not a bad taste but not the best either. Mixes decent. Great price but I think I'ld rather spend a couple more dollars and go with Dymatize Elite.
