I wrote my review for this company's
Micellar Casein a while back, and many of my thoughts are the same when it comes to this product.
Again, I bought this product because I thought that taste wasn't really that big of a deal to me and the price was really good (I think $30-$35 for 95 servings). While the taste wasn't as bad as the
Micellar Casein, it was still pretty unpleasant. With milk it kind of just diluted the taste of the milk, but with water it was pretty rough. I ended up mixing it in a blender with a banana, strawberries, blueberries, and peanut butter and then the taste of the protein was unnoticeable.
As far as effectiveness of this product I can't say I notice any increase or decrease in my performance as compared to other proteins. Just as with the
Micellar Casein, the profile was very impressive (high protein, very low carb/fat meaning it was a very
Pure Protein). I was taking a scoop in the morning after I did some functional stuff and then 1.5 scoops after my weights in the afternoon. The
recovery was not great with this product as it did not take long before I made the switch back to Aftershock post-workout because I would still be sore a couple of days after a workout.
The one really bad thing about this product was the gas. No one ever thinks their own gas smells bad, so if you can't stand the smell of your own gas then you know you are letting out something awful. That was definitely the case while I was taking this. And it wasn't just an every once in a while kind of thing. Day in and day out I had horrific gas. It got to the point to where my parents would not watch t.v. in the same room as me.
All in all, the value of this is very good for an impressive profile. If you are on a budget and can handle the unflavored taste, or you have time to mix it up with some fruit or other goodies then it might not be a bad option. I personally will not make another purchase of this stuff, but for someone that doesn't mind the taste it could be a good, cheap option for a bunch of servings.
