I am not only going to review this supplement as a supplement I will also be adding some of my culinary advice as well which may help. When I first heard about the Met-Rx pancakes I had to try them for myself and when I saw then at GNC I picked up a container for to try.
Ingredients 8.0/10.0
It contains wheat flour, barley flour, sugar, wheat gluten, Metamysoyn HPP protein blend which has whey, soy, milk isolate protein, L-Glutamine, and dry egg white. The leavening ingredients are sodium aluminum phosphate, sodium bicarbonate, monocalacium phosphate, medium chain triglycerides, corn starch, flaxseed a long with natural and artifical flavors, buttermilk powder, and soy lecithin. The two ingredients that stick out to most people are L-Glutamine and flaxseed. Keep in mind thought that the supplement industry still follows the food industry when it comes to products with the first ingredient being most of the product and everything listed after that is probably very little after that usually as small as 2 percent per product.
Taste 7.5/10.0
This is where the product fails a little bit even though it isn't completely bland it has very little flavor. It is easy to remedy this product with come cinnamon, vinilla, fruit, or even a little chocolate chips. For the fruit or chocolate chips wait for the bubbles to set on top before adding on top then right before you flip them over add the desired topping. Once flipped the pancakes finish quickly.
Mixing 9.0/10.0
It mixes really well just like a regular pancake mix doesn't just don't over mix it a lot of people I don't know why. Try stiring in a circle three times then go across the middle before stirring three more times. Try not to stir more the 10 circles it is ok if it is still lumpy like regular pancake mixes lumps are ok they work themselves out after you add it to the pan and while they cook.
Cooking 9.0/10.0
They are really easy to cook they don't not take very long to cook once the bubbles set on top flip them give them another minute or so then they are done.
Overall Value 8.0/10.0
The price per serving really depends where you purchase it from for me it was $1.00 per serving which I thought was good. I like the texture of it aslo, easy to use, but just a little bland otherwise I would of rated it higher. I like to serve my pancakes with a side of fruit usually some sort of melon, grapes, and an orange because I do follow tradition every once in awhile.
