A Great Choice Among BCAAs For Those Looking To Complement A Regimen Aimed At Loss, Or Anything Overall

    —-Introduction—-
A thanks to Idealfit for their participation here on SR.com. Today, I discuss my experiences with their BCAAs product IdealLean Bcaas. BCAAs have always been a useful staple in my supplement artillery. The versatility of BCAAs has allowed me to find use in almost all areas of training including energy for pre workout, endurance intra workout, and recovery post workout. When I entered my recomp/cutting phase sometime back, I capitalized on my opportunity to try this product since I figured something aimed at helping users to lean out while getting all the benefits of BCAAs was most attractive.
    —-Ingredient Profile—-
Each serving contains zero carbs, calories, sugars, and fats. This is definitely favorable for a weight loss regime. On to the main ingredients, IdealLean BCAAs begins with some B-vitamins and magnesium. Following that is a proprietary blend consisting of a 310mg quantity dosing the following ingredients: Phosphatidylserine Green Tea Ectract CLA ThermoDiamine Phosphatidylserine is most known for its ability to modulate cortisol to more favorable levels, creating a more anabolic and fat-buring capable environment. It is also known as the “brain nutrient” for its ability to enhance glucose metabolism by the brain, therefore increasing cognitive functioning and mood. Green tea extract is a source of EGCG, which is both a potent anti-oxidant and metabolic enhancer. CLA helps the body to better utilize fat for energy, though there are some conflicting studies that have challenged this claim. ThermoDiamine, or evodiamine, is an extract from a genus of plant species known as tetradium. It is demonstrated to have both thermogenic and stimulatory effects. It is also suggested to have an effect on the neurotransmitter serotonin by increasing transporters and thus its reuptake. My gripe here as you can imagine is the prop blend. At 310mg, no doubt that all of these ingredients are significantly under-dosed. Moving further down the profile we have a 2:1:1 ratio of the BCAAs, 1g of citrulline malate, 1g of L-glutamine, and 1g of coconut water powder. Aside of the prop blend, this is a satisfactory profile.
    —-Taste/Mixability/Dosing—-
I chose the iced mocha latte flavor because being a New Englander who loves his iced coffee, this is the flavor that screamed out to me. I have no regrets as this was one of the tastiest flavors I’ve ever had in a BCAAs product. It tasted literally just like an iced mocha latte. If I made a preparation of this in a glass with a straw over some ice and gave it to you and said it was a mocha latte from dunkin donuts, you wouldn’t know the difference. The preparation mixed just fine and I had no problems with undissolved clumps or grit Considering this product was formulated to provide some thermo and stimulatory effects, even though minor at best, I used this primarily post workout. I consumed a serving about 15 minutes pre workout. On non-training days, I took a serving about 30 minutes before breakfast.
    —-Effectiveness—-
Now I know in the intro I mentioned how I use BCAAs in several areas, but when they contain some extra ingredients you have to judge for yourself where and when it would benefit you the best. So since I used this as a pre workout booster, that is what I will base my review on. I noticed a clean, modest increase in my energy along with a noticeable thermogenic effect. The thermo effect wasn’t intense, but I was sweating more and had a moderate “burn” feeling in my core during my more high intensity intervals with both cardio and weight training. I also had some increased endurance and my recovery between sets was better with less fatigue and a decrease in the amount of time I needed to regroup for the proceeding sets. I enjoyed how the product seemed to give me benefits, even if to a moderate degree, in all areas despite only using pre workout. I would’ve used additional servings, but I didn’t want the product to run out too quickly. If I should use this again, I will consider multiple servings, one pre, intra, and post.
    —-Value—-
The lowest price I found is from Idealfit’s own website at 33.99 for a 30 serving tub. That does seem a little pricey depending on how many servings you plan on using daily. Then again, that’s the case with a majority of BCAAs products depending on the quantity of BCAAs the product may provide. Still, for the product’s efficacy and how it is favorably formulated for those of us looking to maintain and efficient weight loss regimen, i’d say this a good value overall. Idealfit will most likely have sales and specials in the near future so i would look out for those.
    —-Side Effects—-
    none
    —-Conclusion—-
If your looking for a great tasting and effective BCAAs product that will fit into and aid your weight loss fitness goals, Idealfit’s IdealLean BCAAs is a product you’ll want to give a try. I do recommend playing around with the dosage to find your ideal sweet spot and what area is does benefit you the most. The only improvement I would make to the product is getting rid of the prop blend and keeping the ingredients but increasing their dosage quantities to more favorable levels. This would probably raise the price, but I believe these adjustments would greatly enhance the product’s effectiveness and therefore its value. Also, be on the lookout for sales from the website and I always conclude with, don’t forget diet and training. WARMACHINE OUT!!! GO RED SOX!!!

A BCAA labeled for women but has the ingredients to affect the manliest of men!

    —-Introduction—-
Hey all, first off I want to apologize for the late review. I have been busy with work and late days are killing my brain cells. Secondly, I want to comment on the labeling of products by companies. This product is labeled “BCAA For Women”, and it hardly is just for women. Ingredients such as Folic Acid and other vitamins are beneficial for women during certain periods, such as pregnancy, but believe it or not these same ingredients are just as beneficial for men. Additionally, this was actually a solid BCAA product that aided in fat loss.
    —-Ingredient Profile—-
I know what all of you are going to think/say “why did he chose a product for women”? Well I am going to prove most, if not all of you wrong, with a description of the ingredient profile. Vitamin B6 (20mg): Helping in preventing cardiovascular Disease – Scientists have hypothesized that certain B vitamins (folic acid, vitamin B12, and vitamin B6 -all in this product-) might reduce cardiovascular disease risk. In addition, proper supplementation may also play a role in decreased stroke risk by about 25%. Benefits associated with cancer – Some research has associated low plasma vitamin B6 concentrations with an increased risk of certain kinds of cancer. For example, certain studies found that people with an adequate vitamin B6 intake had a 20% lower risk of colorectal cancer. Cognitive Function benefits – Poor vitamin B6 supplementation has been studied to play a role in the cognitive decline in some older adults. Several studies have demonstrated an association between vitamin B6 and brain function. Vitamin B9 (200mcg) otherwise known as Folic Acid (for pregnant men! yeah not so much) – First I wanna give this little stat I found. Only about 17% of men know the benefits of folic acid. Yes, we all know that pregnant women take this because it aids in their pregnancy process, but a 21 year study proved benefits in men. A U.S. study, included 10,000 subjects, and has shown that both MEN and women who eat a diet rich in folic acid reduce their risk of cardiovascular problems. Men who have an adequate intake of folic acid have a 20% less chance to have a stroke and 13% less likely to have a heart attack. In addition it can also help lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Even better is that those who don’t have proper folic acid supplementation/eat folic acid rich food have also been associated with higher rates of depression, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, and colon cancer. On another note, those men who are looking to get their lovely lady pregnant this may also benefit you. Folic acid supplementation increases the strength of your sperm. This allows those little guys the extra boost they need the get to the golden land. NO, I am not trying to get my gf pregnant. This is just an option to possibly speed up the process if you so desire. I have a few other reasons why every man should be supplementing with folic acid. It can help relieve dry skin, joint pain, fatigue, allergies, eczema, and asthma. Two of those are pertinent in the gym. Why not take another supplement that reduces fatigue, even better why not take one that also relieves joint pain. If your lifting heavy weight this can help! Vitamin B12 (200mcg): Has basically the benefits as vitamin B6 listed above. BCAA (5000mg) – Gives the basic amino acid complex. Branched chain amino acids ,particularly leucine, stimulates protein synthesis, and might do so to a greater extent than a normal protein. BCAAs also increase synthesis of the cells responsible for carrying out the process of protein synthesis. By doing this they work in favor of reducing rate of protein breakdown. This is why this is important supplement for anyone trying to build muscle or lean out. Ideal Fat Loss Blend ( another benefit of this product) (310mg) – phosphatidylserine, Tonalin CLA, Green Tea Extract, and ThermoDiamine. Phosphatidylerine – this ingredient has six main benefits including bone formation, cell repair and removal by the immune system, heartbeat coordination, hormone secretion by the adrenal glands, and testicular function. Wait why is an ingredient that helps TESTICULAR function in a product labeled “for women”?. This is was super interesting when I was doing my research on this ingredient. Tonalin CLA – This is an interesting ingredient because the fat that your body does not use for energy is absorbed into fat cells with the aid of the enzyme lipoprotein lipase. CLA blocks this enzyme and sends the unabsorbed fat to muscle cells. This may promote weight loss, and increase muscle strength. This is actually stated to be really beneficial in those trying to do a fat loss-hypertrophy program. You can get this supplement individually on amazon and other sites. Green Tea Extract – some studies suggests this aids in fat loss ThermoDiamine: The only solid facts I could find on this supplement (otherwise known as Evodiamine) is in mouse subjects. In these studies (that were statistically significant) this product reduced fat cells in the body. There have been studies on human subjects just not any that were as significant as I prefer.
    —-Taste/Mixability/Dosing—-
Why does the “for women” product taste so delicious! I got the Blueberry Pomegranate and it was very good. No settling occurred and mixed well with 12 oz of water. I think this was just enough for a good taste plus good consistency. Each scoop was 10.66g and there is 30 servings per container. I used one scoop with dosing, I didn’t think I needed more than that.
    —-Effectiveness—-
I give the effectiveness an A. I say this because it had a combo effect for me. I really think it aided in the fat loss I am attempting in addition to giving me the proper BCAA to recover. The biggest difference I noticed was the lack of soreness and the increased energy while taking this product. Although it’s hard to say that this product alone was the reason for this, I can say that this effect occurred from the time I was taking it until I stopped. With regards to the reduced muscle soreness I can contribute this to the BCAAs. With the high reps and dropsets I was performing I needed something that would heal my muscles properly, particularly my legs. For some reason my quads and calves get most tired and sore more than any muscle on my body and I felt that I could consistently perform my cardio (running or basketball) without fatigue. This product also had ingredients that aided in fat loss and this is what originally turned me on to it. Yes, I looked at the ingredients before hand so I knew about the “for women” label. Overall, don’t let the labels on the products fool you. Do your research and know what role every ingredient plays and some products may surprise you.
    —-Value—-
On Idealfit.com it costs $34.99 which is a good price, in my opinion, for this product. This comes out to about $1.16 per serving. You can also get it on Amazon.com for the same price. These are the two main sites that I found this product on. A pretty decent value for a BCAA product.
    —-Side Effects—-
    None
    —-Conclusion—-
Like I said earlier I knew what I was getting myself into when taking this product. I think companies need to stop labeling these products as for one gender over another for two reasons. The first being that almost every vitamin is beneficial for both sexes, and second because it affects how the public views certain ingredients over others. That is the great thing about being a reviewer for this site. You can go ahead and post how it actually affected you. A very good product that will aide in fat loss in addition to lean muscle gain. It worked for me and I hope this review changes your mind about many of these ingredients and about the product. Good job IdealLean. Live Happy, Live Healthy Dr. G

I realize they are for women, but I took em anyway because….. TRUMP! 😉
Catchy title…. got your attention didn’t I?? 🙂 First off, let me apologize for the late review. I was PCS’d with the AF during the end of taking this product and my laptop has been in storage. Next, let me give a BIG THANK YOU to IDEALFIT and SR.com for giving me the opportunity to try this product out. I have to admit that I didn’t see it was for women until it arrived. My wife just laughed when I told her I didn’t buy this for her, but I got this from the website I do reviews for. She said it must be because they believe I’m so weak I have to be a girl!! PUNK!!
    —-Ingredient Profile—-
The ingredient profile is crazy with the amount of ingredients this product has in it. It has your normal B6, B9 and B12 in it. There are no “macros” in this product so for all you macro counters you don’t have to worry about this effecting your count. Because of the name it has a “fat loss blend” in it that consists of Green Tea Extract, CLA, and a couple of products that I had no clue what they were supposed to do. They are listed below along with what I found out that they were supposed to do. Evodiamine – This product is listed at ThermoDiamine on the label. According to the web Evodiae extract evodiamine 98% is a chemical extracted from the Tetradium family of plants, which has been shown to reduce fat uptake in mouse studies. It is suspected that its mechanism of action is similar to that of capsaicin. As such, it has been included in some dietary supplements. Neither its fat-burning effects in humans nor any potential side effects have been empirically established. Phosphatidylserine- According to WebMD Phosphatidylserine is used for Alzheimer’s disease, age-related decline in mental function, improving thinking skills in young people, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, preventing exercise-induced stress, and improving athletic performance. Some research suggests that athletes taking phosphatidylserine during strenuous training might feel better overall and have less muscle soreness. However, other research shows conflicting results. BCAA’s are listed at 5g’s (2:1:1). My biggest surprise was the 1g of Citruline Maleate. I don’t remember if I have ever seen a BCAA drink with Cit Mal in it. Also listed on the label is Glutamine (recovery), and Coconut Water Powder for hydration purposes.
    —-Taste/Mixability/Dosing—-
Taste- The taste was amazing. I received Green Apple flavor. A lot of my previous BCAA drinks have a bad aftertaste, or they’re just simply not sweet enough. This usually results in me taking huge drinks just to finish them during my workout. This wasn’t the case with these BCAA’s. Green apple was sweet. It didn’t have a bad aftertaste like I was expecting. Overall, very impressed with the taste. Mixability- It mixes like you would expect. There’s zero clumping, frothiness or grittiness. Exactly what I have come to expect from my BCAA drinks Dosing- I would mix one scoop with 16oz of water when I got to the gym and it lasted me all workout. The label says one scoop with 8-16oz of water.
    —-Effectiveness—-
This is always tricky for me. I know some people take BCAAs because they are looking at the recovery aspect. I use them more for the endurance aspect they provide. I have noticed in the past my endurance in cardio and weight training isn’t the same without a BCAA product. With this particular BCAA I feel it helped my endurance through some crazy workouts I went through, along with my endurance during some pickup basketball games I used it for. This is part why I’ve made BCAA’s a staple in my stack. This particular BCAA has fat burning ingredients as well so I guess it did help me with the cut I was going through. Hydration is never really an issue with me due to the 1+ gallon of water a day I drink.
    —-Value—-
Their website is selling it for $34.99 for a 30 serving tub. You can find it online for about $29.99 for the same tub. .99 a serving isn’t as bad as you might think if you are looking for a product that gives you everything this product does. The BCAA’s are a little on the low side at just 5g’s, but the fat burning/energy ingredients help make this more valuable to me. All depends on what you are looking for in a BCAA product.
    —-Side Effects—-
No side effects for this product.
    —-Conclusion—-
In the end, Trump had nothing to do with my decision to try this product. I don’t think I would’ve picked this product had I seen that it was “for women” but I’m glad I did. It’s a solid product that offers a few different benefits besides just the BCAA aspect. If I had to recommend a BCAA product to a lady friend I could see myself recommending this one. Once again, I appreciate the opportunity to review this product. Thanks to SR.com and IDEALFIT!!
