I was steered onto this by my bro MMAFreak here at TSR, since i needed a non-stim Pre/Intra workout supplement during my month off Stims and Caffeine. I've been on my summer cut for a while and I was looking at Purple Wraath for a long time but Dymatize has really earned my trust and faith with their Elite Whey Isolate protein and i figured i would give this a shot too.
I bought the Orange Flavor, .76 lb tub for around 20 bucks on ProSource.net. I stacked it with Super NOS Pump for a little extra arginine AKG. It wasnt anything like Jack3d (obviously) but it was also my first non-stim pre/intra workout supplement and i really liked it. It kept the intensity up in the gym and helped with blood flow/pumps and more than anything- recovery between sets. I also noticed it's great effects for Cardio. I ran a 5 mile race at the beginning of July and i pounded 4 scoops of this with water about 20 minutes before hitting the starting line and i felt great the entire run! No fatigue, no heavy breathing, no trouble at all. It was also used for a few of my first thing in the morning runs on an empty stomach to preserve muscle.
Recoup is packed with all your B vitamins, some C vitamins, BCAAs, Glutamine, and Citrulline Malate. Pretty much all you could ask for without stims. It lasted me just short of a month as i ran out yesterday. I took 2 scoops and sipped on it during my warm up and workout routines, however for the bigger muscle workouts like back and legs, i used 3 scoops as i felt it was necessary.
The Orange flavor was more or less Orange juice to me. It looked and tasted exactly like it. The only problem was, it stained my blender bottle horribly and no matter how much i wash it, the stain just seems to stay. No biggy though, i own 3 of them and they are cheap.
All in all, i really liked Recoup and Dymatize has proven twice now that they make quality supplements at great prices. I will be taking this again in the future and i will be trying out a few of their other supplements as well. I recommend you do the same since i have had great success with them so far.

I swore that I would always use Xtend because quite frankly it is a tasty way to keep aminos in your body. A guy at my local supplement store turned me onto this and I figured I would give it a try.
For 16 bucks I got a tub that has 30 servings which makes it a better value than Xtend right off the bat. It has a solid per serving profile which is not only packed with over 7g of BCAA's and 2.5g of glutamine. But like Xtend it also has 1g of Citrulline Malate and the added bonus of a B vitamin complex and vitamin C. So not only is it feeding your muscles but it is also giving you more energy and helping you block cortisol production. Way too many benefits to list out by having the B Complex and Vitamin C added to an intra workout drink.
I use this product a bit differently than it is suggested to be used. I actually put two scoops into a 3 liter water jug and drink it through out the entire day which does two things for me. One it is keeping a steady supply of amino acids and makes a noticeable impact on my recovery and energy levels through out the day. But it also helps make drinking water not seem like a chore and something that I have to do to be healthy because it tastes damn good. Lets face it, unless you are sweating a lot you have to make yourself drink some of that gallon and a half of flavorless water that you drink every day. Putting a couple scoops of this or Xtend in my water makes drinking it a pleasure and something that I look forward too, believe me...I always meet my water intake when I do this.
Its mixabliity was very good. It doesn't require tons of vigorous shaking to get it to dissolve all the way and once its mixed it stays that way and never settles.
The taste as I stated earlier is great. I have only had two flavors and that is the fruit punch and the Blue Raspberry and I have gone through almost two full containers of both of them. I love them both so much that I have not yet strayed away and tried any of the other flavors, but I am sure they are all good. Blue Raspberry reminds me of those freeze pops that came in the plastic tube and were never frozen when you bought them at the store and I loved those things.
Final thoughts on this product are that if you use it like me it will cost you $32-40 a month and if you just use one scoop intra workout it will cost you between $16-20 per month. If there is room for that in your budget I would highly recommend that you use it because it really makes a difference in recovery and if you sip it through out the day you will feel more energetic and alert while also keeping yourself anabolic. Try it for sure and I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

| Thanks fellas! I have been using this as a means of getting aminos and getting a little energy boost through the day Bird and not so much as my intra workout since I got my protocol in the mail. Recoup is a solid intra workout supp, but that protocol has been really awesome since I started using it. Protocol definitely wins the intra workout battle due to it being packed with leucine and beta alanine, but I think the recoup is better to drink during the day since it has a more complete BCAA profile along with the B vitamins. |

I just bought this product for the first time two weeks ago. So far so good. It mixes well, and the taste is definitely unparallel. First of all, what caught my attention about this product is that it’s made in a FDA inspected facility, and Dymatized is using pure Ajinomoto as their source of BCAA’s… it is also blended with 2.5g of glutamine per serving. I am using this during my dieting phase. I am sipping it during my workouts, and so far I am staying hard, and my recovery time is really good! I would highly recommend this product.

I finished the tub of Scavation Xtend (Old Formula) and decided to give something else a try. I came across Dymatize Elite Recoup, and since I was a fan of other Dymatize products, I figured I would give this one a shot.
Ingredients: Its an advanced blend of the 3 Branch Chain Amino Acids, L-Leucine, L-Valine and L-Isoleucine.
L-Leucine is effective for maintaining blood sugar levels and also increases growth hormone production.
L-Valine is essential for muscle tissue repair and muscle metabolism, and also increases exercise endurance.
L-Isoleucine is an amino acid that is responsible for muscle recovery after exercise, and is important in metabolism for producing energy.
Taste: 9/10 - I got the Watermelon taste. It was nice and sweet. A bit too sweet some may say, but I enjoyed drinking it during my workout. I only used 2 scoops, its recommended you use 4 per 8oz of water. I thought 2 was enough.
Effectiveness: 8/10 - Let me be honest here. This product did have good recovery for me personally. Especially when I hit my muscles like legs and back hard, with heavy weight and low rep range, the next day, the pain was not as bad as when I did not use any BCAA. I was still sore a bit but the pain was minimal.
Value: 7/10 - Its a descent price. If you use the recommended 4 scoops per serving, you will blow throw this product in 2-3 weeks easily if not faster. I only used 2 scoops, and it lasted me a little over 1 1/2 months. Not a bad deal when you are paying around $20 for the product.
Overall: 8/10 - It worked well for me. And I will definitively recommend it for others. I liked the recovery with this product, and the taste was good. The mixing was done well, with very little foam at the top of the product.

I have been taking recoup for a while now and so far I like it. How I like to use my aminos is drinking them steadily throughout the day. This seems to help my muscles recover a lot more thoroughly and quicker. I really like how they have incorporated the full B-complex in it because that tends to speed up the recovery process and gives me a little more energy. I also like the dosing of each amino (even though i have to take 2 scoops which sucks) even though they could up the dose of citrulline a little bit. I have tried a couple of amino complexes and I would recommend this one first.

I gave Recoup a try based on MMAfreaks reviews. Too make things brief, I'll address the main high and low points of this product:
Highs:
-grape flavour was refreshing. Not too bitter or sweet (I can't drink sweet drinks near my workouts)
-definitely helps with recovery. I even felt a difference between sets—I always felt fresh, especially on chest days. I found my shoulders to be less sore and less hindering to my incline presses on Recoup.
-Excellent ingredient profile including BCAAs, glutamine and citrulline
-It's very simple, has almost everything you need in an intra-workout supplement yet has few extras besides flavouring
The few lows (I'm digging deep to come up with these):
-It advises a ludicrous dosage. I mean, 2 scoops per workout is plenty. At my weight, it recommends 6 scoops(at 200lbs) per workout. That's overkill IMO.
-well actually the recommended dose was my only con
I really liked to mix 2 scoops of Recoup with Beta Alanine and creatine monohydrate preworkout and saw great results from this. It was very easy on the stomach and definitely a worthy buy if you have the extra money.

Straight 9's for this one !
I went out to be my regular X-tend and the store had ran out of stock and suggested this product as a great susbstitute since it was coming from the same manufacturer ( ? is that true ? never found the answer...), well he was right.
Effectiveness: This product is great as an intra workout, 1.5 scoop with 12-14 oz of water and the result was awesome, it mixed great, no crums, just a bit of foam but went out after the first sip.
Taste: Blue rasberry taste is the same as the X-Tend version as well.
Great supplements per serving, not going to go deep into it since the previous reviews on thsi product were right on it.
I highly recommend it as an intra-workout and as a subsitute of X-tend once you ran out if it.
Cheers !

I've become a fan of Dymatize due to their quality products and cheap prices. Recoup has become one of my favorite BCAA supplements. It contains an array of B-vitamins, 3.6g Leucine, 1.8g of Isoleucine/Valine, 2.5g Glutamine, and 1g of Citrulline Malate. I use this intra workout and noticed that it helped with my pump and also decreased soreness. It is pretty much the same formula as Xtend, just with added B-vitamins. For my body weight, the recommendation is 3 scoops, which makes the product go fast. I blasted through it in a little over a week. I've tried the watermelon flavor and really enjoyed the taste. It also mixes great for a BCAA supplement. The B-vitamins are a little under dosed, but still a nice addition. Was abvle to maintain my strength through my entire workouts. Felt like this product helped me to battle fatigue and soreness. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this product and would buy it again.

In my opinion, it's basically a twin of Xtend. Same amino acid concentration, both taste good, etc. Only thing I don't like about this supplement is that the directions end up making you going through the container quick, while Xtend tells you to ingest less.
Anyways, onto the actual review.
Effectiveness: 10/10
Just what BCAAs are supposed to do; speed up recovery and prevent muscle breakdown. It's also ideal for losing fat. I do fasted cardio after i take 10g of BCAA with 12oz of water. Does it's job. I lost fat and kept muscle, even at a 13000 calorie deficet.
Taste: 9/10
Who can complain here? Like I said, they taste just like Xtend. I got the grape flavour and it's almost addicting. Tastes way better than unflavoured BCAA. Trust me, you don't want to try any of that.
Value: For here I'm going to give it a 7/10. Simply because of the directions of dosage. I'm over 200 pounds, so that requires 4 heaping scoops for post-workout? That's around 30g of BCAA. There's not enough research indicating that high dosage of BCAA post-workout is more beneficial than lower doses. So for this reason, I just use 2 scoops post-workout and 1 1/2 scoops before fasted cardio. If it didn't have such stupid directions I would of given it a 9.
Overall: 9/10
Tastes great, builds muscle, great for fasted training, and is great for recovery. If you're local supplement store doesn't have Xtend in stock, then this is your next best thing.
