Fat content?

im concerned about the fat content in this stuff like 6g of sat fat and 110 fat cals ive heard the term good fats but what does this mean. they have this stuff for 10$ at my local GNC and i want to supplement it between my meals and im only going to take half doses each time.
Answer #1:
The good fats you're hearing about are your Omega-3's, 6's, and 9's, and actually to my surprise, Muscle Milk does contain some of these. There is a Lipid blend in the ingredient profile, which includes MCTs and Safflower oil, which are "good fats". Also, if you are taking only half a serving (1 scoop, I'm assuming) between meals, it would provide you 150 cals (55 from fat), 6 g fat, 8 g carbs, and 16 g of mixed protein. This sounds like a feasible option for an in-between meal type shake, and at $10, I'd say go for it, even though I never recommend Muscle Milk.

The problem I have with Muscle Milk is the protein blend. it contains whey, milk, and casein, but it's mainly casein. this shouldn't be a problem if you're using it as a meal replacement, but it's not good as a postworkout nutrition source. Also, one of the whey protein sources is concentrate, which is generally not very pure. if I were you, I'd definatley only use this as an in-between meal replacement only and make sure you have a solid post shake composed of mostly whey isolate or hydroslate.

one recommendation I would have for you would be to check into a product called Nitro Core 24 from Optimum Nutrition. basically the same concept as Muscle Milk, it just blows it out of the water when it comes to quality. there's about 10 sources of protein providing 24 g of sustained release protein, and very little of it being whey concentrate as opposed to it being one of the main sources in Muscle Milk. I'd say go for the Muscle Milk now because of the price, but nitro core is also relatively cheap and if you take a full serving/meal replacement, it will last you 28 days. it has a little more calories and carbs, which is better in the case of a meal replacement. it also has more of a better protein blend.

all in all, grab the Muscle Milk if its $10. im assuming thats the small size so you'll get 13 days out of it. But in the future, i strongly recommend you check out Nitro Core, seems like a better value and better product.

Answer #2:
yeah i have on 100% for my post workout shake and i also take it first thing when i wake up. but i checked the label on the Muscle Milk and it list whey isolate and does not have whey concentrate on the label that is what attracted me to it and Nitro Core 24 does list whey concentrate. i also had about a 1/3 of a tub of on 100% Whey so i just put my Muscle Milk in that and mixed them together to stretch it out a little and i take one scoop between breakfast and lunch and one scoop between lunch and my pre workout i usually workout around 6 pm so i need something to tie me over till dinner
